The trolls gave me flashbacks to my grandmas house when I was a kid. She kept a chest full of toys including some of the Battle Troll series. Those were sick!
Sherry is a hard core collector. The guys/gals who start museums from there collections are legends.

It always amazes me how well you do on your buys. I see these massive collections and the numbers I imagine are considerably higher.
I'd imagine they won't travel to/buy or record anything they don't already know in advance they won't be able to buy at 50-60% value.

Glad it worked out for everyone. Crazy amount of entertainment and hockey there that I would be scared of ha. Luckily Rob does seem like a man of faith, and I can't imagine he would steer you wrong in good conscious.

That’s the difference between yourself Ty and others and even channels , the wholesome truth and honesty is what always makes it work ! You both made it work fast cut and dry no round robin and still appreciated each other and the love you both have for the hobby ! I agree with him about Upper Deck. I’ve switched to almost exclusively hockey because almost everything is game used (even with a lot of rookie cards), high end product along with affordable stuff and some of the best set designs.
I just designed my first trading cards: Leaf Metallic Imaginations, a few weeks ago. Right now they just have a Pele, but I’ve got a Gordie Howe one I did too that hasn’t been released.
I’m posting a vlog in the next couple weeks on my channel doing a card reveal and will probably give a few away. Feel free to check it out.

This was a really cool episode.
I like this episode a lot, Rob is a great guy and knew who he wanted to sell his collection too. One thing I wish but know will never go away is the shady aspect of the hobby. You can tell Rob is one of the good guys in the hobby and I hope that even though he sold his whole collection he isn’t done and will start another collection one day. Tye your a lucky dude to be able to do what you do and meet the ppl you meet. Looking forward to the whatnot stream.
Upper Deck back in the day was my favorite but now it's Prizm and panini products.

Ty, I think it’d be really interesting to see you do a video about yourself and your background… like the logistics of how you got to where you are, how you got into the hobby, how you transitioned from a business career into the business of sports cards, TH-cam, etc, and maybe even what your future goals are.
It could be an easy in between episode just talking into a mic. I think people who’ve been following the channel for a while would enjoy it.
We’ll share the idea with Ty and Matt.

1954 Topps is a fantastic set! Also Topps finest is great. I really like the 1995 set. They remade them recently too!

Didn’t expect to see this episode, good to hear more about Rob. Seen as the guy who hosts GoGTS Live with not much of a story. If you don’t follow the show they give away stuff every single week. Also do a huge Christmas giveaway stream. I’ve won multiple times . Great way to see upcoming product releases as well. Seems like an extremely good deal. I’m sure there are some serious gems not shown.
I’d never heard of Rob, but he seemed super knowledgeable and had a great collection! Another great episode as always.
Rob had me at the life size Ripken display. Favorite player of all time. I jumped in on Cal collecting in the 84’ - 85’ range, and amassed about 400 to 500 different cards, including dozens of his 1st and 2nd year cards. I was also able to get my hands on his 82’ Traded, his Signature Series Auto card, as well as his AAA card (2 different versions). Unfortunately, had to sell his Traded, Signature, and one of his AAA cards (stupid Football gambling debts). Also added 20, or so, of his starting lineup figures, and some ceramic statues, posters, autographed (in person) books, a bat, and a ball, with bunches of magazines with Cal on covers. My point being is that sometimes a player can pull you into the sport, and really ignite your passion for the hobby.

My favorite card company was not mentioned on the list Donruss, I love their card design and the rated rookies. Growing up the 84 set was my grail set which I now have a complete set of with 52 PSA 9's. I also love the the 85 set with that super sleek black and red color even as a kid I thought those cards looked sexy because of the color combination. Honorable mention is their 87 set again black with the baseballs on the side borders a tough grade set again but super cool before cards went and got all shinny. I have to give a shout out to O-Pee-Chee as well just because I am a big hockey collector ever know we all know their production quality was pretty sketchy in the 70' and 80's.

Great video. Alliance is 20 mins from me I Gota say my favorite product is mid 90s chrome and finest. I love the high end 90s stuff. I believe it was 12 buck a pack Kobe rookie year and 7 bucks a pack for fleer metal. We had grandpas sports cards in south Akron. Amazing times.

Great episode. It pains me to think about his acquisition cost and what that would have turned out to in today’s dollars to support college tuition. He clearly enjoyed it while he had it though. I guess that part is priceless

I will ALWAYS collect O-Pee-Chee cards (for hockey) over Upper Deck. Might not be better financially for resale these days? But OPC cards have been around forever and I buy the complete set every year. 55 yrs and counting! AND.... I'm ready to sell.... :)

These are always the hard things to do is price a collection but more importantly to look into his eyes 👀 and see the pain that it’s real for him that it’s going to go..I always say I can’t do it I can’t sell like that being it’s been me since I was 8 so 42 years worth of collecting just to be here today gone tomorrow I just can’t imagine it but I certainly appreciate it every time I’m blessed to buy someone else’s collection to add to my hoard. For the love of cardboard!!

Hey There. Great episode once again. Excellent production! Could you tell me what kind of microphones you use? Is it shotgun or a lavalier hidden beneath the clothes?
Man, Id have to seriously consider those toys too. They’re so mass produced, and everything is kept brand-new in the package (has been since the late 80’s and early 90’s) it’s almost like too much hassle. I bought a collection with a lot of that stuff once before and it took so long to sell it, by the end I was almost giving them away.
What is my favorite brand? Corona....and then Molsen Golden, followed by Red Stripe.

I would like to know how the entertainment sale off went. Hockey and Soccer are the two underrated sports because not many hobbyist know the sports other than the few famous names that’s always circulating the market. I think you will do really well on that side of the market and should be an addition to your portfolio. Love these videos you do because as a collector I also get to learn more about the hobby / business side of Sports Cards and Memorabilia

Gosh $20k seem so light for the size or calibre of this collection, but I guess there is the time, effort, hassle and fees of selling it all to consider. Great episode, enjoyed watching.
You should’ve focused more on the hockey card aspect of this collection in this video! You never really talk about hockey cards in any of your videos… this guy loved hockey cards and you focused on baseball cards lol, you do have tons of fans in Canada who watch who would’ve appreciated it! Love your content anyways, and happy holidays!
