this was very informative, thank you. The way the instruments was curved I was really hoping that it wasn't a proprietary radio, and it looks like it's just a standard double din. I'm fixing to install one of those stereos with a large screen on it to make it look more modern. Now the next challenge is is trying to figure out what steering wheel controls you lose by installing an aftermarket radio, and if one of them dongles will work.
My 2005 Town Car looks just like the one in your video except I have a 6-disk changer instead of the CD/casset in the video. My CD player slowly started reading disks less and less reliably until it eventually just quit. I think something inside it needs to be cleaned or possibly some moving parts lubricated as it didn't suddenly fail. I need to pull it out and investigate. Thanks for showing me how to get to it without breaking something!
Thanks for being straight to the point and not taking us on a trip around the farm first, lol. I was hoping my problem was the antenna came unplugged, but apparently the radio just not working is a common one. I have an 03 and occasionally it flashes "phone" across the screen. Anyone know why?
Excellent video! Thank you! May I please ask if you would know how to connect an auxiliary audio jack to this factory stereo? Would you know exactly which wires to tap into to accomplish this properly?
Hello i have a question i jave a 2004 lincoln the previous owner said the stereo had a problem when the fuse is in for some reason it has a draw if i change the deck will i still have a draw ? Your video is great very helpful
I try to do this but with the aftermarket radio and same as a car and it put it in anti-theft mode how to get it towed to the dealership is there any way you can show how to install a radio that's not a factory radio thank you
What was wrong with this? My Am/Fm will work, but it wont pick a station as if the antennae is not working. Also in Dash CD player wont work but it will play the Cd's from the changer in the trunk. Idea?
Thanks I did with the car off with the keyboard work a lot better I got a 100% oil lone 100% oil life that is due it's due to you're resetting it so now it's gonna use up that 100% until you get the Warning of change oil now probably around 15 to 20% Pretty cool you can check that and which way you're going
Thanks again. I removed it again watching your video. I have a 04 Signature. It's pretty easy but the radio came with no brackets. Can u help me on that? I can give u my email and give me a few hints.
The only way to turn off the chime is to disconnect the battery. The gear shifter has to be dropped to 1st in order to get the piece out, and the key can't be removed unless the shifter is in park.
I'm not replacing my head unit but this video was immensely helpful for fixing the clock just above it. Thanks! 👍
BREATHING INTENSIFIES

I believe if you buy the correct radio wiring harness, you can transfer most or all of those amenities to the new head unit
Did you ever figure out a new radio for your towncar ?? I am in this position now.
@@timbeach2409 I'm doing this same install now
For those reading this in the future, Hello. Crutchfield makes a Crux harness that includes head unit and steering wheel controls in one.

Darth Vader films a guy replacing his radio 👍 honestly it really helped me make quick work of it.
Thank you! Is this the same procedure for all through 2011?
I love the right angle tool, could you be so kind to tell me where you got it: Thanks
Your mom gave it to him

Just buy a bluetooth FM transmitter like 20 bucks on amazon
Looks manageable enough to get to the instrument cluster to replace a bulb
Straight forward. Thank you.
Who is the mouth breather in the back round?
He loud with it too!!! 😂😂😂😂
Darth Vader
Do you have a part number for that radio? When I look for the radio online for a 2003 Town Car LS it doesn't look like yours. Mine looks like yours.
Disconnect the negative terminal, if for nothing more than the door chime.
how about an explanation of what wire is power, ground etc please
hey I went to the junk yard and found a ford double din factory radio just wondering if it has the same hook ups in the back

I would disconnect the battery first.
Excellent, thanks.
Great!
Dang, who is fighting for their life trying to catch that last breath? Go for a walk man. Exercise. Put the fork down.
Christ!!! Turn off the chime!!!! Are you deaf???
Thats the sound of $
