I have HUGE issues when it comes to self-worth, so I'm always worried I'm not doing well enough. I have no idea what could drive the professors who are openly cruel (even at my job I hated, I did my best), but for those who are clearly trying, knowing that you appreciate it is very likely the best thing they could ask for. The arts building at the university I went to had 3 separate third floors. None of them were connected to each other and had their own unique way to access them. Also the basement was called the labyrinth. There was no cell phone reception down there and hallways dead ended in weird places
There was this creepypasta that comes to mind, where hell is an infinite office, you sit there for 8 hours with only a notecard in front of you. If you can write on that notecard the nastiest, most evil torture, you will be spared from the torture that night. If someone else claims that prize, you get the torture they designed. What I'm saying is these two would be getting plenty of pleasant nights.
The class mocked and made fun of our professor because of her accent. One time they threw trash at her while she wrote on the board. These where rich college kids and I was so pissed that I could barely contain myself. So I thought "what will hurt most?" I plotted right then and there to break their curve they would try to use. They bragged about doing assignments last minute, never reading the book, and no extra credit. Basically I worked my ass off and FINALLY the day came and the professor announced "Someone got a 104.4 for their final grade in the class." The class was silent when reality hit and the ringleader of the whole thing was going to lose her scholarship for the class grade. Somehow she figured it was me and even hopefully/jokingly said to me "I wish I could have some of your points" because this was the class that she had to have a B to keep her scholarship up and she was close to a B. I just shrugged and left her in her pain. The teacher had also left the room and told me to watch her stuff. The computer was unlocked and had the excel sheet of grades pulled up. Seeing a sea of broken and owned students, while I sat there with the power to change grades, was the best. They knew it was still up, too. 💀💀💀

Well unlike the initial transformation, blue went straight to grade 4 instead of grade 1 which if going by the source material is impossible because grade 4 can only be aquiered through training with grades 1-3 in order for the body to become used to the elevated state and the transformation itself to use less energy to maintain eventually becoming as efficient as nase form. My biggest college sin, I'm absolutely proud of. I applied to a prestigious college, but to their least popular major. I was told be someone that some programs are so hard up on students that they'll take anyone. So I applied knowing full well that I was going to try to change as soon as I go there. It worked. I was a solid D student and I was attending an ivy league university. By the end of the first semester I successfully got into it's hyper competitive psychology program because an few honors students burned themselves out. I did barely enough to pass and 15 years later now have a pretty sweet career in the mental health field. Better to be smaht (Bostonian), than smart.
I accidentally did the same thing, I was surprised when I got into a more prestigious college I applied to with the full expectation I wouldn't get in (30ish% acceptance rate) well turns out I'm the only one doing the major (Russian) in the entire school of 35k students. And now I'm going to dual major (which was not the plan) and get accepted into the Biology major as well which has a lot of applicants.
I do want to put here that my college professor never graded a single piece of work. Including tests and daily homework. I had no idea how I was doing until my final grades came in. She was that bad.

When teachers be like "you shouldn't just put off your homework to the last minute" but then don't grade anything until near the end of the semester, which defeats the main purpose of grading: to provide feedback to students so they know where they are going wrong and what areas they need to improve upon and how they can potentially improve them.

4:28 I'm from Germany, and at my university it's perfectly normal in most courses to have access to last year's (and some years before) exam questions. I don't really see the problem with it, it's just more material to practice with, which can absolutely help understand the subject matter better. Of course the downside of this is that the professors and their assistants have to make up new exam questions every semester. (I know they're joking, but all the others are still also kind of understandable, this one I don't really get.)
Yeah my school has previous tests in the official, school-run learning center. A lot of professors send out previous year's exams as practice material too.
In my University the old questions arend given to the Sudents direktly more that the Students share them among each other. so you write the questions downs so that next year students can see them. rumor ist that one Professor in our University snapped one Day, because he alsways asked the same 10 Questions and everybody knew it. One year he changed 1 Question and EVERYONE had it wrong. Now he is on an Darth Vader trip and gives out the meanest and most difficult Exams.

I've watched this several times before i actually started college and now 1,5 years in i have my own perspective: Where I'm from, it's totes normal to share materials gathered by older students. Like literally everyone does it, it's shared in groups or group chats with everyone in the same year. It's par for the course. The asshole move would be keeping those kinds of materials for yourself. Regarding teachers: I've had mostly positive experiences with professors, but there are a lot of holier-than-thou, actual garbage TA's. I agree you shouldn't be mean to them (mostly cause you're gonna get screwed over) but hating them with a passion and wishing them all the worst in life is on the table imo.

The thing doesn't have to be sweet 24 frames per second smoothness with tweens and the like galore for them to be animations. If they give the illusion of movement --> animations. I would definitely be in the circle of gluttony. My mini fridge was always stocked up with foods. Drinks snacks and desserts. Just in case someone stopped by or I was hungry. Also. At 6:33 that was just a description of my dorm room. Except for the outlets. They worked too well and were a severe fire hazard.

It's just that even studying things that I do enjoy (like cinema, which is my major) the fact I am studying it instead of practicing means my brain will automatically forget so it doesn't take up space for, say, the fun fact that Argentine ants have created a super colony spanning from Texas to California. It really does suck because anything beyond very superficial information, even basic stuff, takes weeks of reading and repeating to commit to memory. But it's a part of life now.

It was, in retrospect, wholly enjoyable, but because I was under the duress of studying it and needing to perform in exams it killed my enthusiasm and made it hard to learn at times. Now whenever I'm listening to lectures on the subject for the fun of it- because yes I am T H A T nerd -I not only enjoy it more (because its like a game filled with easter eggs of irl lore) I actually pick up on the information, on the alternate theoretical explanations and so on. Considering you pick up on auxiliary material whenever you aren't stressed I have to assume you must be somewhat like me. What I have done is divide my school-come-university life in three: (1) working hard, (2) playing hard, such as talking to friends, going out, ie: extroverted activities and (3) what i call energy detox, when I become a temporary shut-away and just play videogames and be an introvert. Balancing out everything in certain ways keeps me going - the problem is wanting to stay in phases (2) or (3) and not wanting to pick up the hard work again!

Haha. Finally realized just how easy it truly is to procrastinate like this. . . I was supposed to be studying for my history final, but couldn't concentrate. So I spent my time literally creating the population of a fictional village, down to proportion of guys and girls, couples, how many had kids, the proportions of siblings versus single children, and which of those kids were girls and guys respectively. Then I realized I was hopeless at concentration and gave up.

The arts building at the university I went to had 3 separate third floors. None of them were connected to each other and had their own unique way to access them. Also the basement was called the labyrinth. There was no cell phone reception down there and hallways dead ended in weird places

The class mocked and made fun of our professor because of her accent. One time they threw trash at her while she wrote on the board. These where rich college kids and I was so pissed that I could barely contain myself. So I thought "what will hurt most?" I plotted right then and there to break their curve they would try to use. They bragged about doing assignments last minute, never reading the book, and no extra credit. Basically I worked my ass off and FINALLY the day came and the professor announced "Someone got a 104.4 for their final grade in the class." The class was silent when reality hit and the ringleader of the whole thing was going to lose her scholarship for the class grade. Somehow she figured it was me and even hopefully/jokingly said to me "I wish I could have some of your points" because this was the class that she had to have a B to keep her scholarship up and she was close to a B. I just shrugged and left her in her pain. The teacher had also left the room and told me to watch her stuff. The computer was unlocked and had the excel sheet of grades pulled up. Seeing a sea of broken and owned students, while I sat there with the power to change grades, was the best. They knew it was still up, too. 💀💀💀

Well unlike the initial transformation, blue went straight to grade 4 instead of grade 1 which if going by the source material is impossible because grade 4 can only be aquiered through training with grades 1-3 in order for the body to become used to the elevated state and the transformation itself to use less energy to maintain eventually becoming as efficient as nase form. My biggest college sin, I'm absolutely proud of. I applied to a prestigious college, but to their least popular major. I was told be someone that some programs are so hard up on students that they'll take anyone. So I applied knowing full well that I was going to try to change as soon as I go there. It worked. I was a solid D student and I was attending an ivy league university. By the end of the first semester I successfully got into it's hyper competitive psychology program because an few honors students burned themselves out. I did barely enough to pass and 15 years later now have a pretty sweet career in the mental health field. Better to be smaht (Bostonian), than smart.

I accidentally did the same thing, I was surprised when I got into a more prestigious college I applied to with the full expectation I wouldn't get in (30ish% acceptance rate) well turns out I'm the only one doing the major (Russian) in the entire school of 35k students. And now I'm going to dual major (which was not the plan) and get accepted into the Biology major as well which has a lot of applicants.

When teachers be like "you shouldn't just put off your homework to the last minute" but then don't grade anything until near the end of the semester, which defeats the main purpose of grading: to provide feedback to students so they know where they are going wrong and what areas they need to improve upon and how they can potentially improve them.

4:28 I'm from Germany, and at my university it's perfectly normal in most courses to have access to last year's (and some years before) exam questions. I don't really see the problem with it, it's just more material to practice with, which can absolutely help understand the subject matter better. Of course the downside of this is that the professors and their assistants have to make up new exam questions every semester. (I know they're joking, but all the others are still also kind of understandable, this one I don't really get.)
American here, we have access to EVERY SINGLE STANDARDIZED TEST EVER DONE IN OUR STATE! (at least in Tennessee)

In my University the old questions arend given to the Sudents direktly more that the Students share them among each other. so you write the questions downs so that next year students can see them.
rumor ist that one Professor in our University snapped one Day, because he alsways asked the same 10 Questions and everybody knew it. One year he changed 1 Question and EVERYONE had it wrong. Now he is on an Darth Vader trip and gives out the meanest and most difficult Exams.
It varies as far as I’ve seen. Some profs actually hand out their old exams as study guides. Some haven’t changed their tests at all in 20 years.

I've watched this several times before i actually started college and now 1,5 years in i have my own perspective:
Where I'm from, it's totes normal to share materials gathered by older students. Like literally everyone does it, it's shared in groups or group chats with everyone in the same year. It's par for the course. The asshole move would be keeping those kinds of materials for yourself.
Regarding teachers: I've had mostly positive experiences with professors, but there are a lot of holier-than-thou, actual garbage TA's. I agree you shouldn't be mean to them (mostly cause you're gonna get screwed over) but hating them with a passion and wishing them all the worst in life is on the table imo.

-People who don't know how to be quiet in a library

The fact that you have not given up is highly commendable. Just keep at it or change your subject, it may not be you specifically but simply your interests do not align with whatever you're studying. I couldn't remember science-y stuff to save my life because I just don't gel with that stuff - make it historical information and I'm a vaccum.

I too can remember really weird stuff if it's related to history or a series I like, not unlike a vacuum. It's just that even studying things that I do enjoy (like cinema, which is my major) the fact I am studying it instead of practicing means my brain will automatically forget so it doesn't take up space for, say, the fun fact that Argentine ants have created a super colony spanning from Texas to California.
It really does suck because anything beyond very superficial information, even basic stuff, takes weeks of reading and repeating to commit to memory. But it's a part of life now.
@@nicolaszan1845 I get this in 6th Form I did some Art History. It was, in retrospect, wholly enjoyable, but because I was under the duress of studying it and needing to perform in exams it killed my enthusiasm and made it hard to learn at times. Now whenever I'm listening to lectures on the subject for the fun of it- because yes I am T H A T nerd -I not only enjoy it more (because its like a game filled with easter eggs of irl lore) I actually pick up on the information, on the alternate theoretical explanations and so on. Considering you pick up on auxiliary material whenever you aren't stressed I have to assume you must be somewhat like me. What I have done is divide my school-come-university life in three: (1) working hard, (2) playing hard, such as talking to friends, going out, ie: extroverted activities and (3) what i call energy detox, when I become a temporary shut-away and just play videogames and be an introvert. Balancing out everything in certain ways keeps me going - the problem is wanting to stay in phases (2) or (3) and not wanting to pick up the hard work again!

Haha. Finally realized just how easy it truly is to procrastinate like this. . . I was supposed to be studying for my history final, but couldn't concentrate. So I spent my time literally creating the population of a fictional village, down to proportion of guys and girls, couples, how many had kids, the proportions of siblings versus single children, and which of those kids were girls and guys respectively. Then I realized I was hopeless at concentration and gave up.
If you wrote it down I'm curious.
