I just wanted to tell you all how thankful I am for your support. This video blew up WAY more than anticipated. I made it with the goal of educating others about asexuality and praising the Almighty Red. To see how many people it’s affected and brought together has truly moved me. Red is actually the reason I learned that romantic and sexual attraction were different and that having one actual romantic crush in my life didn't mean I wasn't asexual.
I'd always known the term asexual but I think it was a Gravity Falls fancomic of all things where I first learned the term aromantic. Things just kind of weirdly clicked together in my brain after that you can feel romantic love but not sexual desire and sexual desire but not not romantic love and in hindsight it just feels so freakin' obvious.
No, you don’t call them at all, they have obviously mastered the art of climbing trees with all their free time. Check if they have any binoculars, if they do they’re bird watching and would be annoyed by loud noises. If they don’t then they’re probably just chillin in a tree, and again, would be annoyed by loud noises.

In a similar way, Red being open about her asexuality allows for people who watch her videos to have that representation that they probably don’t get to see on other channels
Representation is for more then fictional characters. Such as rep behind the scenes (like screen writers, directors, producers). As also not restricted to the arts, such as representatives in parliament. So her being a real person does not make it wierd to say she is good representation, which we need.
Also the stories of ancient aces is what the world needs. Since because the term is quite new people use it to discredit us. With stuff about medication and millennials/gen z wanting to be special. It shows what people keep saying, *it's not a new thing, just the name is new*, since this shows people writing about these people way back then.
You know, like the schoolyard rhyme goes: “Boys go to college to get more knowledge, girls go to the moon to forswear all romantic and sexual relationships”
but what about the boys who ditch relationships for the moon club? I'd like to go to the moon if only for the fact that there is currently a distinct lack of stupidity on it.

My Asexual friend from Middle School actually has explained this to me once. And I actually got it... Because sometimes that's how I see People as an Artist at times. Like I once had an Art Class Model you know one the "Life Drawing One's", A Woman and To me she was super attractive for an NSFW reason but she was kinda very reminiscent to a Fairy in a hippie kinda of way and was covered the most amazing vintage almost cottagecore looking tattoos for a Woman in her late 30s in 2010, and had red hair. I SO BADLY WANTED TO TURN HER INTO A KITSUNE!! But the art director said " no" like she was giving me Fox Goddess vibes. I also wanted to draw every tattoo but...The Teacher was telling us to focus on Curves. BUT ANYWAYS that was my Aesthetic Crush. So when my friend said " Aesthetic Attraction" a couple years later like 2014. I was like..."No, I think I know what you mean. It's like how an Artist sees a reference."

Out of all the many sexualities and non binary genders I’ve learnt about in my time, asexuality is by far been the toughest to understand for me, but red is so helpful for that. Makes me realise how much romantic and especially sexual relationships are over represented in fiction. platonic relationships and aesthetic attraction are super valid and interesting. solidarity with the aces 👊🏻
Omigosh same here. I feel like I overlook my ace comrades a lot and this video was perfect for reminding me how awesome and valid they are. I know this one ace person who is actively annoyed by hornyposting (so I try to be conscientious) but there are so many more of them around, it's just easy not to notice.
I'm pan but the one part about the frustration of aesthetic appreciation being mistaken as other things really spoke to me honestly. Just because I can be attracted to anyone doesn't mean I'm attracted to everyone.
For me it the opposite. Ace I can understand. Not everyone is comfortable with sex. Me, Pansexuality is the one I struggle with because I thought it just bi but with extra steps. I have to learn that biological sex and gender are not synonymous, and people might have different idea about what gender identity really means.

In particular bi people are always quick to point out to me that they are just as into trans people. I *think* most of it is just bi people having a sentimental connection to the term and the flag. That's how it is for me, anyway. Also I prefer the bi flag to the pan flag :P But if someone asked if I was bi or pan I'd say "yes" and also "trans rights!"

As an asexual who is an English major and has to read a lot of this mythology related literature in a class full of non-asexuals it’s really nice hearing about these stories through the voice of someone I can actually relate to. I honestly learn more from Red than actual professors half the time.

Sounds funny but how is that possible? I know it's a comedic example but think about this: if Henrique and his girlfriend are a couple (assuming they've been together for a long time), then she might know his family (his twin brother) and therefore be able to spot the differences between the two of them. It doesn't make sense for the whole cheating situation to happen unless Enrique disguised himself and acted as Henrique because... reasons... he wanted his brother's girlfriend? I can empathize with Red but more because I'm an aromantic pansexual. I just do not understand romance at all. Like wtf even is it? My sexual relationships have always been more of a "I love all my friends but this friend is the one I'm having sex with and spend most of my time with." Like my brain just can't fathom the difference in relationships with the exception that these are the sex friends and these are the platonic friends.
My feelings are similar but different because I'm ace and maybe some type of aro-spec (still questioning on that one), because even before I learned of the split attraction model or of the different sexualities, I was always like "Gah, what's the point? What emotionally makes going on dates with a significant other different from hanging out with a group of friends? Especially if you don't even know the person you're trying to date compared to your friends!"

A friend of mine came out as ace recently n of course my brain thought back on the yrs uve known him n realized the only time he's ever spoken about his sex life was that one time I met up with him n his now ex gf n i cocked my head like a curious dog when I saw she had a black eye n they started laughing n explained that he is just tall n clumsy n he accidentally elbowed her in the face when they were changing positions. N after this look back on our yrs of friendship I thought "ya, that checks out" n now I know how my friends felt when I came out as MtF (I'm also a bit of a furry, not jumps but ears n tails n I love being pet) n they looked back on all the times I told people that I'm easier to understand if u think of me as a lesbian cat in a human man's body.

Out of all the many sexualities and non binary genders I’ve learnt about in my time, asexuality is by far been the toughest to understand for me, but red is so helpful for that. Makes me realise how much romantic and especially sexual relationships are over represented in fiction. platonic relationships and aesthetic attraction are super valid and interesting.

Omigosh same here. I feel like I overlook my ace comrades a lot and this video was perfect for reminding me how awesome and valid they are. I know this one ace person who is actively annoyed by hornyposting (so I try to be conscientious) but there are so many more of them around, it's just easy not to notice.
I'm pan but the one part about the frustration of aesthetic appreciation being mistaken as other things really spoke to me honestly. Just because I can be attracted to anyone doesn't mean I'm attracted to everyone.
For me it the opposite. Ace I can understand. Not everyone is comfortable with sex. Me, Pansexuality is the one I struggle with because I thought it just bi but with extra steps. I have to learn that biological sex and gender are not synonymous, and people might have different idea about what gender identity really means.

@@yellowtheyellow I've asked a lot of people what the difference even is, and the most common response is "please don't worry about it". In particular bi people are always quick to point out to me that they are just as into trans people. I *think* most of it is just bi people having a sentimental connection to the term and the flag. That's how it is for me, anyway.
Also I prefer the bi flag to the pan flag :P
But if someone asked if I was bi or pan I'd say "yes" and also "trans rights!"

Sounds funny but how is that possible? I know it's a comedic example but think about this: if Henrique and his girlfriend are a couple (assuming they've been together for a long time), then she might know his family (his twin brother) and therefore be able to spot the differences between the two of them. It doesn't make sense for the whole cheating situation to happen unless Enrique disguised himself and acted as Henrique because... reasons... he wanted his brother's girlfriend?

I can empathize with Red but more because I'm an aromantic pansexual. I just do not understand romance at all. Like wtf even is it? My sexual relationships have always been more of a "I love all my friends but this friend is the one I'm having sex with and spend most of my time with." Like my brain just can't fathom the difference in relationships with the exception that these are the sex friends and these are the platonic friends.
My feelings are similar but different because I'm ace and maybe some type of aro-spec (still questioning on that one), because even before I learned of the split attraction model or of the different sexualities, I was always like "Gah, what's the point? What emotionally makes going on dates with a significant other different from hanging out with a group of friends? Especially if you don't even know the person you're trying to date compared to your friends!"
