Yeah the way Maya treated people was insane but apparently they are all obsessed with her and will do anything for her! When she turned up to Theo's mum's house and just started blurting out questions about her dead son with no sensitivity I was done. She just uses people then discards them. And the way she just expects people to mind Lily at the drop of a hat CONSTANTLY and also expects her brother in law to become her surrogate father with 2 kids to bring up alone, a drink problem and a step-son to build a relationship says it all. Extremely poor character development. And finally, who goes around pulling down grown men's pants on the football pitch and getting away with it in 2024!!!! That is sexual assault! INSANITY!

I think it was fun. Especially Sami's storyline, which had me very attached to the character. I also think the point of the half brother/ Claire's other son is to give Claire and excuse to visit the school because she was trying to find out more about the Burketts
I enjoyed this series but there is one part that gets me. So how did Judith know that Maya had that nanny camera? Her friend gave it to her. How would Judith have been able to set up the whole "Joe is alive on camera" thing. She would have had to have known about the Nanny camera. Did I miss something? And this happened on the very first day it was set up so it would seem like Judith had to have known it would be there. This is a big part of the plot where Judith tries to make Maya seem unstable and ties into the end. How did Judith know that Maya had that camera in the first place?
Very good point, having just finished it I can corroborate this lol I can't think how she would've known about the camera unless maybe the nanny had discovered it and told Judith about it. That's the only explanation I can think of
I forgot which episode it was but Maya's friend mentioned that the Nanny cam can be hacked when she was blackmailed by her ex husband sending photos, there is a possibility that their(Maya) house is under surveillance given the Burkett family's resources and it was also mentioned in the show that Judith was already skeptic about Maya's statements regarding Joe's death so it is not impossible that the whole place is bugged or at least under surveillance.
I was wondering about that as well. My theory is that the nanny noticed the camera because Judith also had one in her room being which is the room Mya was killed in. I believe the nanny reported back and it jump started the plan of posing as if Joe was still alive, hence is the start of the murder mystery.
The nanny, who had worked for the burketts, admitted to having deep faked Joes camera appearence on camera, implying that she was either paid or forced by Judith to do so. Thus, Judith knew about the camera frame.
To be honest, this show kept me entertained until the very end as I found the plot to be very surprising in my opinion which is a good thing. However I cannot fathom the idea of Lily being older and being confronted with the video footage of your mom being killed by your uncle because of your mom who killed your father because he killed your aunt. Now that is a bit much for me lol
Wow, completely disagree. I thought this was a fantastic show. Very engaging, well acted and produced. I couldn’t stop watching. I agree the 18 years later part was unnecessary but other than that it was fun to try to piece together what really happened. Highly recommended.
The last episode didn’t land for me. They tried to portray Maya as a hero. She was awful to basically every character the entire show, blew up an innocent family overseas, and also murdered her husband. And they still tried to make her out to be a good person 😂
Feel like joe’s character wasn’t developed enough for it to be really thought provoking. Like we’re really left in the dark with what he was like as a person. At the start we think he’s a good person and then we realize near the end he was bad and killed people, but apart from that very little we know about him
That's the whole point. For you to think about it. For you to make the judgement. That's the whole purpose- not knowing him, getting to know him slowly, liking him, then changing your mind as you get to the truth. People forget it is based on a novel, Harlan Coben is known for his short, witty, Hollywood action like novels. It's always a short mystery and twisted happy ending
I sort of agree with your assessement. the show did a good job connecting all the dots and tied everything together, but because it tied things up so well, when the reveal i was so like oh, yeah it made sense.
I really liked the series tbh. Yeah, little bit plot holey, and the ending was a bit silly in terms of her decision to get killed. But I was intrigued and guessing the whole time.
I think she had alot of regret when she had to make a choice of killing innocent civillians in the past which caused her psd this was another reason that played on while she wanted to get killed as she didnt forgive herself.
Fantastic. I really enjoyed the chosen actors here. They fit perfectly in their roles and offered real talent for the viewer. Everything in one series done just perfectly. Loved it!
@@daisybuttercup6801you obviously missed the point then… the point was Maya knew Joe had killed her sister but had no idea why. Which is why she used the guise of ‘searching for the killer’ to find out why her sister was murdered and what was wrong with Joe’s family.
Me and my wife just finished this. Binged it all within 24 hours lol. We enjoyed the show and it kept our interest even if some parts could have been trimmed down or cut out all together. Maya and Sami were the best parts of the show. Some plot points didn’t make sense but we did like the twist at the end. Its not everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t regret watching it.
Yeah Maya and Sami definitely were! Outside of that, I just thought the plot felt very thin and almost quite pointless. It's an easy watch for sure which is good! I just expected a bit more of a darker tone
@@annam5898tbh I never believed husband is a good guy but she killing her husband is some what a trick also what i don't get it is why she shoot her husband that quickly she should have to ask Joe seriously about why he killed her sister by torturing them or any way Instead of this
Who the hell was stalking her though? I knew we were meant to believe it was Shane, but at least once or twice a hooded figure was stalking her and was never revealed who it was.
....just one of the totally pointless things: why was he stalking her? He wanted to know why Maya was doing all that, as we see, pontless running around pretendung that she was looking for a murderer? What a waste of my time.
What was the deal with Shane? They never really explain his connection with the Nannie and her husband. He just takes the pickup truck, drop them off, then heads off to who knows where.
Connection ? He didn't have any connection..he simply helped Maya by dropping them in the middle of nowhere..and he wasn't going to walk back home so he took their truck
Great series, though, the ending was very poor. To reveal that Maya killed Joe was a major disappointment for me. Like, really, she started from episode 1 to find out who killed Claire. And the ending shows us that she knew who killed her already yet they portrayed it as if she didn't. It goes to show that she killed Joe without all the necessary information. Like she didn't know who about the burner phone, she didn't know who Claire was speaking to from the arcade, she didn't know who Tommy Dark was. Its like she just killed Joe solely because of the bullet match and did not even know why Joe killed her (motive). We have also so many unanswered questions, like what was the purpose of telling us of Claire's other son? Why was Shane spying on Maya? Why did Lily say "Dada" when she was outside close to the hedge? I honestly thought Joe was alive somehow, or at least that's what they made us believe. And the Izabella involvement was dismissed even by the police. ooh just so many unanswered questions.
It was almost like she needed the justification and cleansing for Joe’s murder that she didn’t get from the civilians murders when she was in the military.
evidence for maya killing joe Reason number 1/ He didn't like guns altho his visible fingerprints where on the gun cabinet. Reason 2/ he didn't seem upset at the funeral giving they worked together for a long while. Reason 3/ The bullet was fierd from there gun Reason 4/ He tried to shoot here lmao. i dont understand why lily said dad
No it wasn't a waste, it was a red herring. Not everything that happens to people are connected. Just because they found out about Louis after Claire was murdered doesn't mean that he had anything to do with her murder. But people trying to investigate the murder don't know that. Having this storyline (and the one about Eddie meeting another woman) adds a layer of complexity to the story, so that the investigators (and the audience) are in different minds about whether all these facts are related to each other, or whether they're coincidences.
@@Guzunderstrop whatever they tried with this whole thing didn't work out (for me), so it really felt completely unnecessary. Especially when Eric told his kid's half sibling that he would go on and try to contact his dad for him. Felt like Eric really was that kinda guy, but I guess money eventually ran out or something and they didn't wanna go there. But why bring it up in the first place? To make Eric look like a good dad because he felt like he wasn't a good one? Whatever..
An absolute waste of time considering Maya knew she killed her husband because he killed her sister. Some of the dumbest and most pointless subplots ever and the “twist” was underwhelming at best.
Totally. I almost missed the big reveal as I wasn't really paying attention, and my literal reaction was "huh?" Why was she pretending to search so hard for the killers?
@@Wateverrho She acted as tho someone else was responsible for Joe's murder and used it as a big misdirection to buy her time to investigate what her sister had found out about the Burkett family that eventually led to her death. Makes sense why you didn't enjoy it, you weren't even paying attention
I think a lot of questions remain unanswered. 1) Why was Shane stalking Maya? I guess we all remember that moment when he put a tracker on her car. 2) Who was the man outside Maya's house looking at her when she was writing the letter (which is later shown as the letter to Eddie) 3) What happened to Joe's death certificate and the will reading? 4) What about the call Caroline made to Maya saying she saw Joe? And then Maya calls her back, and we hear some raspy breathing of a man? 5) What's the point of having Louise and Alexander in the whole show? I guess they didn't have anything to do with the plot.
It was a good series, the ending was quite good but I didn’t understand why she was going here, there and everywhere, trying to track people down etc when she knew exactly what happened to her husband and why she did it..

I must admit I was disappointed with how Harlan Coben’s best seller book was portrayed. At one point I missed an episode because I fell asleep and I had to go back. The ending was unnecessary and too many episodes! It could’ve been done in 6 and made those episodes better with more depth like the book. I did enjoy Keegan’s acting and the actor who played Sami. It’s such a shame because it could’ve been so much better! Will you be rating the BBC Tourist?
THANK YOU! Nah! This series was a mess saved by great performances. I wanted to see more of Marty too. Such a great character played by a talented actor but they just cut him loose.
okkkk i just figured it out after watching. so maya finds out through the guns and blah blah blah that her husband killed her sister. she sets him up and kills him because she can’t sleep in the same bed as a murderer. she makes herself look innocent to not get put in jail to investigate why he would kill her sister. she goes on this whole adventure to uncover what claire knew about joe that would prompt him to kill her. i literally thought the scenes were like before she killed joe but it wouldn’t make sense because she was talking about joe being dead with sami. just got that 😭
@@missthea5259 yeah that’s why I was hoping she was still alive. One thing I agree with this could have been done in 6 episodes rather then 8. But great binge watching
I liked this show, but my problem with limited series is the last two episodes are usually rushed. The first 6 we slowly find out information. Towards the end they just start outright saying the information with no build up
The problem is just that once maya meets the hacker dude, she could have gone directly to the climax. She could have said "look, hacker, i know joe killed my sister and i am going to confront his clearly corrupt family who was bribing people left and right. Please live stream it." The end. The hacker already knew that they were faking trials. There was absolutely no need for her to continue her investigation after she met the hacker. They could just compare notes and literally everything of value would be revealed. Instead, they went to find the boat captain's body. It was mid and poorly written
Basically watch #1 and last one to save yourself half the time. When she pulled out that glock and put gloves on i knew she did it right away. That was to much of a dead give away
It was more of a telenovela than a mystery. Yes, many usual tactics including misdirection & adding layers each episode. I liked it but it didn’t have the impact I was expecting, something was off. Loved the main actress!
Thought there were too many subplots and random unrealistic things happening all at once. Personally I would’ve preferred a story where joe and Claire ended up being alive all this time and if they focused on something revolving around that
Such a disaster of a show; I kept on with it as so many people were raving about “all the twists” - but it was so contrived it didn’t shock me at all. The worst thing about it, aside from all the bizarre plot holes, was the SCRIPT. Utterly dire. Not sure why that policeman partner guy was being forced to make such dreadful jokes, and the way the characters had to constantly remind you what was going on through dialogue (ie “hello police officer that’s investigating the murder of both my husband and my sister, but has failed to do so thus far” and “why did you do it to Clare? My sister? You killed Clare. My sister.” etc) was distracting. It felt like something a 16 year old would write in GCSE drama.
The nanny admitted having placed a deep faked video on the nanny cam. The implication being, because the nanny had worked "in the burketts family forever" that Judith or someone else paid/forced them to do so, to confuse her. A grieving widow going insane might actually hallucinate seeing her dead husband, but if she killed him, she would know that it's not hallucinations.
If you have ever seen the movie Dead Zone 1983 with Chris walken, this ending is exactly the same with the exact same words. They both set them selves up to be killed, and their last words were: You're finished. Same ending
I have to disagree with you. The fact that she died in the end is something I did'nt expect, but feels more true to the character and what would happen in real life. You wouldn't see such an ending in many other shows. I found the storyline refreshing. Also those other elements, such as the adopted son, also true to real life. In real life there are many different storylines going on and not everything has to be about the murder mystery in my opinion. I think they also wanted to focus on relatable real-life stories.
Watching it through to the end, it was very underwhelming and left so many plotholes. 5/10 - If the whole time it was Maya and Joe were the killers, why was Maya running around solving something she already knew ? - What was with Shane and the random stalking? - what happened to Joes death certificate in the abandoned will reading? - what was the point of the half-brother story? - How did the nanny know about the nannycam from Mayas friend? - 18 years later and Shane or Sami haven't aged?
Finally an honest review. It sucked but I feel you were really nice in critiquing it. Well done. This show should have been called “Reaching” because that’s what it did from start to finish.
I loved the show! The only gripe I have about it is this: The nanny cam was so conveniently placed it doesn't make any sense. Was the frame always sat on that specific place? If so, then yeah, Corey hacking it is believable. Otherwise... it was kind of a cheap way out for the showrunners. Maybe I didn't notice the frame before, though. Nonetheless this show was epic!
I enjoyed the show, but what really gave me the ick was the ending. The casting was all wrong. Lily went from being a blonde-haired white girl to a black haired brown woman.
whether you like the show or not, I just wanna shed a different light on it, or try to get into the "psychology" of it. the bottom line and plot is: FAMILY. Maya was suffering from PTSD, and felt profound guilt over the massacre that she conducted. she couldn't ever again think of herself as a good person, a good mother, and in all actuality, she probably wasn't. she goes on to find out that the father of her child is also a murderer, and is coming from a supremely corrupt and evil family. she was counting on her sister, to raise Lilly, in case something happens to her, but the sister ends up getting killed. as the investigation goes on, her maternal instincts kick in, but in unusual ways. she scans the environment for "good people", that would be there for her daughter, as Maya was on a suicide mission as well, whether she knew it or not. she asks Eddie to take care of Lilly, and tells him that he is a good father. she asks Sami about his unborn child. she discovers that her sister had another son, who is also brought into the good family. she is basically creating the environment for Lilly's future, and then embarks on a journey of revenge, justice and ultimately self destruction. had she not exposed and destroyed the Burkett family, they would end up corrupting her daughter. had she not gotten herself killed, she wouldn't become somewhat of a hero, and a mother that Lilly can be proud of in the future - that she actually turns out to be, as she names her daughter Maya. this is why the ending is corny, and this is why, imo, the main actress' acting range and ability broadens towards the end, as we see her true colors and nature, which in essence, is not a good one. but it is the best way for her to make amends.
The show had too many plot contrivances regarding the investigation and how people spat every bit of important information with little to no resistance, given the circumstances. The killcount would have been higher if not for these conveniences. But out of all the bad writing, I gotta give this to the actors and their performances. Maya and Sami stole the show during the whole series. Specially Sami: that guy is built different, and the actor behind him should have a lot more screentime in british productions.
Yeah it was difficult wasn’t it. I thought Keegan delivered her role well but it did just feel like it never really reached the levels of darkness it could have!
To those who think it was useless for Maya to investigate Joe’s past, I think it was absolutely necessary to the plot. It proves to Maya that Joe is more than capable of killing anyone
Amazing show. Didnt end up how I thougt it would. What is still a mystery to me, what about Maya’s friend that gave her the camere ? Also I thought Shawn is going to be one of the bad guys
...and one small thing: If you would have been a police office who has just been told that an SD card from the picture had been stolen by a nanny, wouldn't you try to find out where the SD was? Wouldn't you ask Isabella what she has to say about Maya's accusation? The show has so many holes... You are Maya. Why would you leave the gun that you had used to kill your husband in your house? You must have heard about forensics... All that Maya's running around pretending that she was looking for a killer was the biggest failure, because there were many times when Maya wasn't trying to find WHY her sister was murdered, making US the only witnesses that she was "looking" for a killer. Or have I missed something big time?
Once you know that the lead actress Keegan was in Coronation Street for years then it all begins to make sense - the flat performance, the limited range of facial expressions, the limited range generally, the odd lips. She generally looks like she just stepped out of a low budget magazine shoot, not like an experienced officer with active military front line experience. Hers could have been a really interesting character for a decent actress to get her teeth into. It's a shame really because her casting lets down the rest of it, which ain't half bad. After 2.5 episodes that is. Apart from the comedy junior detective, who is also just implausible & annoying. Suffice to say that I won't be rushing out to buy a Coben novel any time soon. I might make it to the end of episode 8 though. Wish me luck.
I thought the same at first as the gun he shot her with didn't have a clip in it, there could have been 1 in the chamber but he shot her 3 times 😂 big blooper by the show
It was like it was written and produced by a 10 year old. The actors were pretty good but the story has to be one of the worst I’ve seen. Like how did Corey the whistle end up back at his hideout with all his equipment at the end? He was arrested facing loads of charges, also the place he was arrested wasn’t even looked into. The whole series is based around finding out who Joe really is but all you find out is he is a murderer. There’s so many things that don’t make sense and things that didn’t even need to be there.
The show could have better if it was about the Burkett faking Joe's death and Joe was alive. But then it turned out to be Maya killing Joe because he killed her sister and that the Burkett is a corrupted family. Idk but the build up to the ending wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would
If Maya killed her husband because she knew he killed her sister, why did she need to investigate the motive for her sister's murder? Why did she need to investigate the connection between the two murders? She knew the entire time... Great show though
Fully agree with the review, stopped watching after 5 EPs and glad I did! Lost interest so I just wanted to find out whodunnit. Glad I never bothered that's 4 hours saved!
I disagree, I truly enjoyed the show even though I normally could guess what an ending to a mystery story would be. The twist was good too because the movie made believe the killer was always somebody else except for the main character which has been delivered so many times, and yet it still caught me off guard.
This movie ended about 20 minutes in. The acting is so insanely awful. The pace is awful, the story telling is lacking. If you liked this movie. You have low low expectations
Whats abt maya's sister has a child ???i know it tricks to us for confusing whos the killer really is but its so unnecessary and also shane also like the stalker who sitting on counch in a house no one invited but anway its great 👍
I couldn't agree with you more. Story got stale for me around episode 5. I actually didn't finish the episode. By the second episode, I knew I didn't like the lead character, Maya. So I'm not surprised by the ending at all. I definitely would not recommend this limited series.
Agreed, the ending was hugely disappointing and unnecessarily schmaltzy. Would have been better to see Maya living her life out in some tropical paradise, having faked her death.
Also Maya’s coat should be covered in gun powder residue. No way they wouldn’t have taken her clothes for evidence as well. Spouses are always prime suspects in murder investigations
What i don't get it is why that gun only she took she should have take any other gun n no way she could have get caught to police because same gun killing both only raised questions I think may be she blindly got some agenda to kill her sister killer with same weapon
I feel like some of the show was definitely “filler” and could’ve had more substance to it. I’m over here thinking the rookie cop partner is in on it, or Shane being sketchy with planting the tracking device on the car… It’s like some scenes could’ve been cut.
Does anyone else think the same about these Harlan Coben adaptations on Netflix? They have a good core but they just feel a bit Hallmark...

That's fair! For me, I just wish it had a bit more substance to it!
I think she had alot of regret when she had to make a choice of killing innocent civillians in the past which caused her psd this was another reason that played on while she wanted to get killed as she didnt forgive herself.
Okay bro let’s see you make a murder mystery show better than this. Couch critic
I actually prefer her dying in the end versus just going to jail. It just made more sense.
@@LaiLai..she just didn’t need to be the killer in the first place
Fantastic. I really enjoyed the chosen actors here. They fit perfectly in their roles and offered real talent for the viewer. Everything in one series done just perfectly. Loved it!
Michelle Keegan was well cast, but I thought the story fell a bit short!
The plot was ridiculous, what a lot of time I wasted watching this baloney. “Fool me once” it certainly fooled me into watching it.
@@daisybuttercup6801you obviously missed the point then… the point was Maya knew Joe had killed her sister but had no idea why. Which is why she used the guise of ‘searching for the killer’ to find out why her sister was murdered and what was wrong with Joe’s family.
@@sazmullium...and she got a pretty good picture when Corey had explained here and this where the should have finished.
Sami & Shane my favourite character 😊 So sad Maya died but she avenged her sister's death. All 4 cousins (Abby, Dan, Lilly & Louis) lost their mums. 😢
Hard to feel sympathetic towards Maya, knowing she was a cold blooded murder, even before killing Joe.
But I do feel for the kids of the show.
I absolutely loved it! It served its purpose and the ending caught me right off guard and that’s what a series is suppose to do.
I was shocked too hoping that she really didn’t die. I loved it

Who the hell was stalking her though? I knew we were meant to believe it was Shane, but at least once or twice a hooded figure was stalking her and was never revealed who it was.
Yes 👏 👏 Thank you I was just going to comment that. I did not understand what that was all about
I assumed it was Shane keeping tabs on her, since he was always at the house.
....just one of the totally pointless things: why was he stalking her? He wanted to know why Maya was doing all that, as we see, pontless running around pretendung that she was looking for a murderer?
What a waste of my time.
It was her friend. Multiple times you were shown by his behavior that he was onto her, as in he knew something weird was going on.
He was in the Military with Mya so his relationship to the fam was through her. He was basically a male bff.
His head dress was the worst lol
Great series 😂 naa it was shyte mate
evidence for maya killing joe Reason number 1/ He didn't like guns altho his visible fingerprints where on the gun cabinet. Reason 2/ he didn't seem upset at the funeral giving they worked together for a long while. Reason 3/ The bullet was fierd from there gun Reason 4/ He tried to shoot here lmao. i dont understand why lily said dad
She knew 100% that Joe killed her sister but she didn’t know why
@@405Smokesesh The scene where Lily said 'dada' was the first time Maya used Joe's car. So it could be she saw daddy's car and said dada.
yes. this thing about claire’s other son was a big waste
Yeah, utterly pointless. It went nowhere
Yeah it was such a shame...
Totally. I almost missed the big reveal as I wasn't really paying attention, and my literal reaction was "huh?" Why was she pretending to search so hard for the killers?
Very slow waste of time
@@Wateverrho She acted as tho someone else was responsible for Joe's murder and used it as a big misdirection to buy her time to investigate what her sister had found out about the Burkett family that eventually led to her death. I’m so glad to hear that I’m not the only one who was annoyed by this! This killed the whole show for me.
I think a lot of questions remain unanswered.
1) Why was Shane stalking Maya? I guess we all remember that moment when he put a tracker on her car.
2) Who was the man outside Maya's house looking at her when she was writing the letter (which is later shown as the letter to Eddie)
3) What happened to Joe's death certificate and the will reading?
4) What about the call Caroline made to Maya saying she saw Joe?
And then Maya calls her back, and we hear some raspy breathing of a man?
5) What's the point of having Louise and Alexander in the whole show? I guess they didn't have anything to do with the plot.
It was a good series, the ending was quite good but I didn’t understand why she was going here, there and everywhere, trying to track people down etc when she knew exactly what happened to her husband and why she did it..
She was playing detective to find out the reasonings behind it all! All she knew when she killed Joe was that he killed Claire and NOTHING more

I must admit I was disappointed with how Harlan Coben’s best seller book was portrayed. At one point I missed an episode because I fell asleep and I had to go back. The ending was unnecessary and too many episodes! It could’ve been done in 6 and made those episodes better with more depth like the book. I did enjoy Keegan’s acting and the actor who played Sami. okkkk i just figured it out after watching. so maya finds out through the guns and blah blah blah that her husband killed her sister. she sets him up and kills him because she can’t sleep in the same bed as a murderer. she makes herself look innocent to not get put in jail to investigate why he would kill her sister. she goes on this whole adventure to uncover what claire knew about joe that would prompt him to kill her.
i literally thought the scenes were like before she killed joe but it wouldn’t make sense because she was talking about joe being dead with sami. just got that 😭

I thought this show was great! Never saw that ending. Well done.
I liked this show, but my problem with limited series is the last two episodes are usually rushed. The first 6 we slowly find out information. Towards the end they just start outright saying the information with no build up
And the 18 years later was necessary for those invested and who would want to know what happened to the other characters
I would have preferred to see the Burkett family get their comeuppance and Judith and her son locked away in prison
@@loobyh6274 yeah, would've been much better
The problem is just that once maya meets the hacker dude, she could have gone directly to the climax. She could have said "look, hacker, i know joe killed my sister and i am going to confront his clearly corrupt family who was bribing people left and right. Please live stream it." The end. The hacker already knew that they were faking trials. There was absolutely no need for her to continue her investigation after she met the hacker. They could just compare notes and literally everything of value would be revealed. Instead, they went to find the boat captain's body. It was mid and poorly written
I knew she killed Joe. I knew it. Called it from episode one and every episode after that.
I think I missed this part...but was Sami's friend he talked to that we found out had been murdered his former partner? How was she killed?
Pretty sure it was his ex
It was his dead ex
I disagreed with almost the whole video apart from the Claire son part yes that is pointless 😂
It felt like something a 16 year old would write in GCSE drama.
i think they were trying toe be cute and lighten the mood with a comedy rookie v jaded cop routine, Sadly though it didn't work.
So what was the explanation for her seeing Joe on camera? And why did the nanny delete the files?
Judith set it up to make Maya slip up and confess. A deepfake.
Same ending
Do you recommend any of the other shows by this writer??
YES! THE STRANGER!
Five episodes should do, not 8..😮😵💫
I have to disagree with you.
This was by far the biggest waste of time ever since I've been having Netflix.
To spend 8 episodes to find out why Joe killed her sister?! Seriously?!
Watching it through to the end, it was very underwhelming and left so many plotholes. 5/10
- If the whole time it was Maya and Joe were the killers, why was Maya running around solving something she already knew ?
- What was with Shane and the random stalking?
- what happened to Joes death certificate in the abandoned will reading?
- what was the point of the half-brother story?
- How did the nanny know about the nannycam from Mayas friend?
- 18 years later and Shane or Sami haven't aged?
Finally an honest review. It sucked but I feel you were really nice in critiquing it. Well done. This show should have been called “Reaching” because that’s what it did from start to finish.
Who was the man breathing on phone while Maya called Caroline?
I think the people who do not like this show... can't handle psychological thrillers.
It happens
Maybe I missed it, but what was the deal with the blood in the trunk of the football coach's car? Was that ever explained?
That was his son's as he got injured when he fell off the bike!
whether you like the show or not, I just wanna shed a different light on it, or try to get into the "psychology" of it. the bottom line and plot is: FAMILY.
I really
Liked it !! 😅
That's fair!
I laboured through 8 episodes and the acting was subpar at best. I rooted for none of the characters. The ending was extremely underwhelming.
I honestly wanted to see what Maya’s letter to Lily said
Amazing show. Didnt end up how I thougt it would. What is still a mystery to me, what about Maya’s friend that gave her the camere ? Also I thought Shawn is going to be one of the bad guys
It’s so it would be tied in with the ending , she used the picture frame to set up the live at the end where she got killed
I couldn't get through first 5 mins so I'm here to quickly end the loop now I know how it ends ...I'm glad I didn't waste my life on this.
😂😂
100% agree with your assessment of this show. Exactly how I felt
Thanks, glad you agree!
Come here because of that comment on tiktok
oh my god the world is truly gonna end soon
...and one small thing:
If you would have been a police office who has just been told that an SD card from the picture had been stolen by a nanny, wouldn't you try to find out where the SD was? Wouldn't you ask Isabella what she has to say about Maya's accusation?
The show has so many holes...
You are Maya. Why would you leave the gun that you had used to kill your husband in your house? You must have heard about forensics...
All that Maya's running around pretending that she was looking for a killer was the biggest failure, because there were many times when Maya wasn't trying to find WHY her sister was murdered, making US the only witnesses that she was "looking" for a killer.
Or have I missed something big time?
I’ve read the book and not watched this on Netflix. The book answers a lot of questions by the look of it. Story makes much more sense.
I dont understand how you thought it was underwhelming, absolutely loved it. It was really engaging, you missed on this one bro.
I am wondering if Maya is actually dead. Hmmm!
Idk but the build up to the ending wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would
I enjoyed it thoroughly and for the first time since very long I bingewatched.
If Maya killed her husband because she knew he killed her sister, why did she need to investigate the motive for her sister's murder? Why did she need to investigate the connection between the two murders? She knew the entire time...
Great show though
When shane set off the alarm i thought he was the killer

Fully agree with the review, stopped watching after 5 EPs and glad I did! Lost interest so I just wanted to find out whodunnit. Glad I never bothered that's 4 hours saved!
I kinda guessed the ending at episode 6. I think the acting was great by mich but the ending was like something stupid just like I expected.
Im not aware of the original works. Are they soapy too or perhaps they become too soapy when adapted due to the directorial choices ?
Completely disagree. Very very good serirs!!! It's very entertaining as well! And excrllent cast! Enjoyed it very much!!!!
That's fair enough!
I disagree, I truly enjoyed the show even though I normally could guess what an ending to a mystery story would be. The twist was good too because the movie made believe the killer was always somebody else except for the main character which has been delivered so many times, and yet it still caught me off guard.
Who was Lily's baby daddy? The man next to her in hospital was Shane, right? WTH?
Shane was by the door but there was somebody else further in the room!
He was sitting next to her on the bed.
No Shane wasn't lily daughter father there was lad similiar age to Lily he is milds to old to be her partner
7 murders and nobody goes to jail. Very realistic
Literally fell in love with Maya.
She was a great character!
I disagree. I really enjoyed this series & watched it over the course of 2 days!
That’s fair!
Glad you agree!
Agreed, the ending was hugely disappointing and unnecessarily schmaltzy. Would have been better to see Maya living her life out in some tropical paradise, having faked her death.
As if Joe wouldn't check that the gun was loaded and operational
In the heat of the moment I can see it happening
Also Maya’s coat should be covered in gun powder residue. No way they wouldn’t have taken her clothes for evidence as well. Spouses are always prime suspects in murder investigations
One thing I don’t understand is when she switched the guns how did she do that if she took one with her
Maya let Joe gets the fake gun first then Maya took the real gun.
So was Shane spying on Maya?
I think so! But more like ‘looking out for her’ in his own weird way
This show was beyond stupid
Honestly the twist at the end is disappointing…. Kinda ruined the show for me
I thought the show was pretty good. Your review is quite harsh. Adeels acting was phenomenal as Sami Kierce.
