What about Marvel's Spiderman, and Marvel's Spiderman Miles Morales? Great endings with very powerful emotions. Or Fallout 3 ... the original ending! That one still sits heavy with me. Chronotrigger, too, was amazing. Final Fantasy X, Uncharted 4, GTA V ... All great endings, and I think better than some of the earlier ones on your list. Perhaps a second list is in order?
Amlost all trails games can and should be considered each one ends in such a satasifying way and sets up for a future game at the same time

The ending to Red Dead Redemption hit harder after the RDR2. That’s why the ending to the first game hit harder
I think the end of chapter 6 in RDR2 hit harder than RDR, but the ending of RDR was much more powerful than the epilogue in RDR2 (that probably sounds confusing as hell to anyone who hasn't played them Haha).

Honestly I tell people who've never played red dead play rdr2 first. Then play red dead. It's a downplay in gaming, but the story hits harder

i played RDR2 first and RDR second, and it absolutely fucking obliterated me. literally the saddest ending ive ever seen a piece of fiction have.

Halo 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2 im surprised werent on the list. With Halo 3's normal and legendary ending, as well as the relieving, heartwarming reunion at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2, with the iconic letter in a bottle.

Rambo's ending for MK11 ...
Almost felt like an actual legit ending to the Rambo Saga
and Sylvester Stallone doing the voice was the icing on the cake

Assassin's Creeds Revelations & Black Flag both had great endings. Revelations offered a beautiful ending for the stories of two legends, spiritual brothers separated by time, Altaïr and Ezio. Black Flag's ending was wonderful in its bittersweet remembrance of Edward's lost peers and a promise of a new beginning with the arrival of his daughter

Im really missing Nier: Automata here, but I think not enough people have played this masterpiece. I have never experienced a greater ending in an video game ever. They really used the media of video game in all its greatness.

Arkham City is def one of the greatest video game and Batman endings of all time.
Rdr2 ending is the greatest in my opinion.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite video game ending. It caught me by surprise the first time finishing it. Awesome ending twist, a WTF moment. Im still waiting for another game to give me the same feeling.

I've beaten hundreds of games (and about of dozen of games on this list) and FFX is my number one. I don't understand how it didn't make the list. It makes the list invalid imo.

@@vishalvincent5012 no, it's not. I think you guys are misunderstanding what is said in the "surgeons recording". He refers to "other patients" but not that they were immune. In fact he says hers is like nothing he's ever seen before. Here's the recording:

Red Dead Redemption 2 probably deserves a spot too, though I understand wanting to keep it to one entry per franchise.

Uncharted 4 should’ve been in this list.
Upon seeing #1, I was brought back to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. In the game’s finale, a severely wounded Zack and Materia-poisoned Cloud try desperately to evade their pursuers. If you’ve played FFVII, you know Zack isn’t making it out alive. Nonetheless, in that final sequence, you pick up that Buster Sword and swing away any way. One of the few games that actually made me tear towards the end.
Uncharted 4 epilogue is arguably the greatest series ending of all time, so I don’t know how it’s nowhere on this list lol

When Farrah tells the prince something she has never told anyone before and he reveals it to farrah right at the end to prove to her that everything he’s told her is real is quite stunning gameplay writing
RDR2 has the greatest ending of all time and the greatest story in gaming.

The ending of Final Fantasy 10 is the best ever, all who watch that cry heavy tears, some reactors I have seen have actually cried so hard they couldn't even think and spoke in babbles. Even thinking about it now makes me get emotional so I try not too. "The Trip and Fall" has to be the most heartwrenching scene in all of media. Sorry if it sounds like I am trying to exaggerate too much but its pretty intense.

Final Fantasy XIV's ending (Endwalker) is not just perfect but a masterclass in storytelling.
Sopranos: Road To Respect is so cool. As you complete the game missions, you become a made man, going through the ceremony that makes you a member of Tony Soprano's work family. As you stand there holding the burning picture in your hands, it feels like you are in the world of the show.
I don't know if you could class it as an ending per se but climbing up Mt Silver in Pokemon Gold and Silver to beat Red - No one expected that on top of the return to Kanto
In RDR, who went online trying to find out what they did wrong at the end...just to learn that WAS the only ending.

Grand Theft Auto 4 had a great ending(s) as well. Surprised it didn’t even at least make an honorable mentions. While grand theft auto 4 might be an underrated game in the series anyways, i feel it’s one of the best in the franchise and furthermore I felt that both endings were very sad especially Roman’s death which was just really sad and depressing imo hit hard

I've waited long enough to write this comment, and I'm prepared for the backlash... here we go: I'm that one guy who things "The Walking Dead Season 1" is not the best in the series... That distinction goes to "Walking Dead Season 2" which so happens to be my favorite game I've ever played. Before you hate on me, allow me to explain:
One of the biggest reasons for me is quite simple: I feel more of the sense of danger playing as Clementine as opposed to Lee. With Lee your playing as an adult who's more than capable of handling himself, and is a decent judge of character (meaning he can see deception more easily) with Clementine though, the world seems a lot more dangerous through the eyes of an 11 year old. Also Clementine has to make choices nobody at that age should make (yes I know it's an apocalypse) but even still, she has so much to learn, and she can be fooled and led into traps, any kid would in those circumstances. Also she often can act without seeing the bigger picture, maybe it's just me, but she seems more realistic than Lee does, in my opinion.
I also find her personal story more interesting: trying to figure out thins while trying to help/save her friends, while trying to stay alive in a mad world. She also adapts and learns as the story goes on.
I also feel she has to make harder choices than Lee had to make. A girl that age can't understand things as complicated as an adult can understand (I know kids are smart, but seriously think about what I'm saying before you start ranting at me: Adults do know things that a girl her age doesn't fully understand yet, so her choice might seem right to her, but it can be a wrong choice in the long run)

Me and my cousin played all of the Batman games in one sitting cuz I always got em on Christmas. When Batman carried joker out of the theatre I immediately remembered the painting. That was like the first time I recognized foreshadowing.🤯🤯🤯 I was like wooah wtf. Out loud. But everybody else was sleep.

I feel as though nier automata should have got some love here even it was just an hm. Honestly one of the absolute best games I've ever played. Ending e was just an excellent bittersweet ending. After all the pain, suffering and everything that happened just to get at least something resembling a 2nd chance just excellent. Quite convenient yeah but still brilliant.

The ending of TWD Season 1 left everyone wanting more but none of the other seasons came close to measuring up to that masterpiece. I’m still glad we got them but seasons 2-4 were each definitely mixed bags. At least everything involving Clem was good.

I personally think the ending of the final season was near perfect, tbh. Closing the story with Clem letting out a breath, then smiling - she earned that!
@@MonyXChan I loved the ending of S4 but as a whole the season was a mixed bag for me. First half really drags and I just did not care about most of the characters. On the other hand the 2nd half is phenomenal and I was very invested in Clem’s relationships with Aj and Violet.
