- No one quite knew what to make of Trailer Park Boys when it first premiered way back in 2001. The mockumentary format hadn’t quite taken off on TV yet, and the show aired on the little-known Canadian TV channel Showcase after many major networks turned it down.

I remember when my friend first asked me, “have you seen trailer park boys?” I had never heard of it. I was thinking to myself what the hell is trailer park boys? Fast forward five years later, and I’ve watched each season at least five times, and now consider it one of my favorite shows of all time. I’m so glad my friend showed me this show. Nonstop laughs. Love you boys!

It so god damn weird seeing how much of a world wide success this show is just due to the fact that I spent 11 years of my childhood in the trailerpark of the first 2 seasons. Seeing Ricky sit on that slide is crazy.. I slid down that many of times as a kid.

I've met John Dunsworth and Patrick Roach (Lahey and Randy) on a comedy tour they did going through small local pubs across Canada. Very cool people. John doesn't actually drink alcohol at all, apparently he used to be an alcoholic. Really shines a light on how amazing his acting is.
Dloweification I saw the same tour in Calgary mid 2000's sometime. Their manager also worked with The Polyesters, who were touring with them. My kid sister was their book keeper. Had a beer with Pat, and John had a pop. Sat and chatted for an hour or so. Nice guys.

I almost cried when people were complaining that Julian sold them just wrapped up McDonald’s burgers for over the price top. That’s such a Julian thing to do and if you do go to a show of theirs and buy a burger personally of Julian there’s nothing to complain about lol. I feel bad for the actors of Cory and Trevor, they didn’t deserve that treatment and I would like to learn more. It’s very sad and I think they deserve some justice or at the very least a deep apology. They deserved better.
Sadly, that seems to be the environment on a lot of these popular shows, there's a clique for the main actors/friends of main actors who are given more pay/respect and the secondary actors/guest stars are treated like nothing more than glorified extras. It's that high school mentality persisting into adulthood.
I feel sad for them too, but it’s still impressive that no one broke character.

Uhmmm... George Green. One way or another, it was always gonna be George green. Mr Lehey was a product of the boys... george green followed the same path. We even saw it in the last season. Not that JD could ever be replaced... but George Green will forge a new type of anti-hero-antagonist.
This is the kinda show that I can watch on repeat, and never get bored of it.

You reminded me how TPBs was run repeatedly on air all the time. I had a tape I used to carry around to parties trying to get people to watch it. They thought it was a dirty movie I was trying to play and wouldn’t watch it until breakfast the next day. When my uncle was dying in the hospital we watched TPBs in the public lounge and it helped with comic relief during that hard time. Thanks for posting!
Something similar happened with my Grandpa last year. He didn't go to the hospital cause, he didn't want to be poked and proded at. We watched this show and after he passed in November 2021 I finally gave this show a chance. Glad I finally did.

I've always loved the show since I was a little kid. I was born around the time it started so you can imagine around my 10yr old stage, I started watching the show. I've watched the show over and over again and recently watched it all the way through again. My girlfriend is now in love with the show after never seeing it before. I believe that the actors of TPB are very humble, loving, and amazing people and I can't wait to see them continue to live their best lives. Some really amazing people and now at the age of 19, I hope I get to meet them one day and smoke a blunt with them.
It's so incredible being on set. So proud of Mike Smith :) When I was in Jr High school I saw his class grading photo when I was 12, he went to my Jr High. It's filmed in Bible hill, Nova Scotia (I live in the area, met a lot of the cast) they're SO kind and welcoming, I have a signed photo from Lahey from one of their shows, may he rest in peace

One last shot is on Netflix now. It’s pretty weird to see the younger versions of Ricky as Julian.
They are not playing the same characters though in 98's One Last Shot. They play Gary Williams (GW) and Robb and GW is a University student.
Only Jim Lahey has the same name.
The first time we see the characters is in the 1999 movie Trailer Park Boys that they later used as a shopping around pilot to the Cable Networks (it never aired as the pilot).

I remember flipping through the channels and stumbling on this show about 10 minutes into the first episode and I just was transfixed by it...I put the controller down and watched the rest of the episode wondering what in the hell I had just watched...it was absolutely unforgettable. I was hooked immediately. It is the greatest show I have ever watched LOL.

Well I think I can say that in response to the end of this video "until the fans say it's time to shut it down", I think that it's time to shut it down.
Not that I am sick of it, or that it's not funny anymore or anything like that.
But without Lahey, it's not TPB. That's why I never really enjoyed some of the live stuff they did that's on netflix now, where Lahey and Randy are barely there, and especially those "out of the park" shows, where there is no Lahey or Randy at all. It's just not right without Lahey and Randy to throw spanners in the works for the boys.
And Dunsworth (RIP, hugely missed) was the absolute best comedy drunk in the history of television/movies.

Love all of these boys. There aren't very many shows/movies that make me laugh out loud when I'm just chilling watching something by myself but I found myself giggling like a school girl almost every episode

For those of you that didn't already know, Jim Lahey and the girl Sarah from the show are actually related. John Dunsworth (JIM) is her actual father.
