6.8 is extremely under reviewed on TH-cam. Looking forward to the series!
I agree! It has been overlooked. That will change for 2025
Having no issues with my 24 F350 7.3 STX truck has factory plow prep with up fitter switches im running 38 15.50 Graps on stock 18s with zero issues guys can't believe i have no lift it sits higher than trucks with a 6 inch lift love it!! Just a tad hard to fit in certain areas long bed super crew agate black
Thats incredible! sick setup!
@CTECH-REVIEW i wish I could post a photo 😆 bought in late August just hit 2600 miles factory oil change @ 1000
No leveling kit?
How do you turn? Ive got 37x12.50 and it scrubs at full lock with factory wheels. I'm assuming you have aftermarket wheels with negative offset? If you got factory 18s 8" wide running anything wider than 13.50 is super sketchy I'm suprised you found a tire shop that would mount them. Be careful man if I read that right and you got 15.50 on 8" wide wheel you could have major trouble if you use the truck towing or hauling.
I bought a 24 F350 STX FX4 with 7.3....360 camera, power everything, cloth interior, no chrome blackout painted bumpers, race red, 430 gears electric locker.....love it 58k
That’s a solid setup! I love the FX4!
I have the STX package for towing a fifth wheel. The interior isn’t flashy but it is functional and comfortable for very long trips. The options it comes with are what I wanted. LED lights, 360 cameras, trailer brake, etc. Unfortunately truck prices have gotten crazy now but when I bought was at 68k with 6.7.
STX is a high value package! I love it
6.8 stx owner here and I am happy with truck. I like the simplicity, but it also has the new features that I wanted like the all around cameras and bed lighting. Only complaint is the “dummy” hub on the passenger front wheel. This can be changed though to match the auto-locking hub on the drivers side.
I hear ya, the dummy hub is a bummer, but at least it's easy to switch! Looks like simple job!
What do you mean by dummy locking hub? I've been looking at buying a new truck. My 1999 350 needs both hubs locked to work in 4wd. Do you only lock one hub?
I’m always amazed at the spaghetti nest of wires and plumbing in a ford engine bay. Looks like a DIY test bed.
It’s definitely not as clean as some of the other brands! But I have seen a lot worse too! look under the hood of a diesel, its insane!
Awesome video. Looking forward to the follow ups. I’m not sold on the 10-Speed Ford transmissions. Too many issues with my 2022 F-150. I’m curious to see your comparison.
After Dec 2022 build date, Ford seems to have solved the majority of the issues I'm hearing from guys.
The 10-speed is a bit of a hot topic for sure! I am hoping issues fixed 23+
I have a 23 f350 cc lb 7.3 4:30 gears, I wish I could get one without the 10 speed transmission, I don't do highway driving everyday, I don't need no damn 10 speed transmission!! What the heck are these manufacturers doing?
@@SteveCallsenI have that same transmission in my 2020. I'm like you, they could have easily done it with just an 8 speed. Too many shifts for my taste, but it works with a few quirks.
Great series!
I hope you enjoy them all! Thanks for the kind comment!
Love my f-250 stx with 6.8 out the door 55k with step sides.
Good move! 6.8 Impressed me...you will like next video!
Man, i wasl liking the STX first but after seeing the interior with the bigger screen. I would choose XLT all day long.
The screen is a big plus on the XLT premium
I just did a build on an XLT today and the crazy thing is the Premium package requires the black appearance package which combined totals $8945. I would like the premium package but no way would I spend another $4795 to get black emblems and wheels. Ford has lost their mind with this package nonsense.
BAP used to also include the spray in bed liner and be $4295...did you try for 2025 model year build?
@@CTECH-REVIEW I did a 2025 model build. I don't really care what is in the BAP but I don't want to be forced to buy it to get the Premium package.
So a regular xlt without sport appearance & pro power is probably gonna be a bit less or almost same price as stx & u get running boards, 7.3 motor & door keypad?
Yes that is correct! quite a big cheaper
From what I've read the 2nd alternator does not work as a backup to the primary when the primary fails unfortunately.
that is a bummer, thank you for the comment.
Supposedly it maintains whatever the power needs are and the auxiliary kicks on when it's needed. Supposedly if the primary fails it kicks on and will still run. Ive never tested this but thats what I read from a guy that actually knows about this stuff and tested.
Wanted but Couldn’t afford a f250 because how expensive these news trucks have gotten still happy with my purchase a 2020 5.0 f150. For half the price.
You can't go wrong with a 5.0 F-150!
Mpg diffetence will be interesting
Oh ya!
Theyre both gorgeous just unattainable for most Americans. Makes me so sad to see where the industry is today. If it were a gift I'd choose the 6.8🎉
It is wild how expensive everything is!
Lack of exterior key pad, true console, push button start and little screen make an easy decision to go up to XLT. Just put the carbonized grey wheels on xlt.
I agree! I think the XLT is the better overall value.
The 7.3 alone is worth the $3,000 price difference IMO
I like the 7.3, you will like next videos!
How come in a f150 xlt u get leather wrapped steering wheel and not in the 250 xlt!?? Suprising
Actually believe it or not I’ve noticed this in the past with the super duty around the steering wheel. It’s been that way for a few years.
Good morning CTech
Lets go Friend!
Can't believe how unimpressive that $65K STX is on creature comforts and basic features. Crap seats, crap instrumentation, crap infotainment, hard plastic everywhere, no bedliner, 18" wheels. I'm not in the market for this type of a truck, but it's underwhelmeing what $65K gets you.
I agree it is not as fancy as the XLT, but it is very well built.
They are going to get even more expensive if the tariffs kick off in January, as promised.
Only the motor is built outside of the U.S. They are built in Canada.
@@atvtinker01 They can’t hike the price up another 25% on models made in Mexico or Canada and leave all that potential profit on the table with their biggest seller.
Remember the chip shortage and the thousands of mothballed F Series trucks overflowing from parking lots?
Those apparently can’t be made domestically and seem to be pretty important if you plan on driving your truck.
Chips aren’t the only component on those trucks not mined, harvested, processed, and manufactured here in the USA.
We mine and process less than 1% of the worlds bauxite that’s used to make those aluminum bodies.
Do you know how many billions we import annually
in steel?
Domestic production and domestic assembly are two totally different things.
It doesn’t matter where they are made when the raw materials used to make the components here increase in price.
Frankly I’d much rather be wrong, and hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your families.
10 yrs ago the same $ got me a lariat ultimate with a 6.7 diesel.
I'm definitely not paying that $ for a lackluster pos.
Did I miss the XLT 7.3 payload numbers?
It’s in the next video! I forgot it! Sorry
ok so really comes down to the transmission quality 10r140 to the lesser 10r100????
That 10R100 is the same gear box in the higher profile Mustang...Ford opted for this to lessen the weight on the truck for MPG. It's a lightweight transmission and Ford has gone down this goof up road since 1990's on their 3/5 tons. By all means, stick with the 10R140, it's a truck transmission and not an overbuilt automotive trans. If you lay the parts of a stock factory 95 F-250 next to a HD rebuild kit, you'll see the huge difference....this lighter tranmission will follow the same path...80k to 100k at best on it before overhaul in a truck. I've been cracking open the boxes and rebuilding these and other transmissions for 38 years. Just my two cents.
thats only difference in trans, but in all fairness I do not think the 10R100 will be a bad option...its just a more beefy version than the 10R80, if you look on my channel I made two videos about this trans and compared specs! th-cam.com/video/IUHBoWovQ8c/w-d-xo.html

Torque shift g???? Thought it was called 10 r100
The torq shift g is the 10r100. Thank you for the comment and for watching!
Something to check on and verify, but I believe for 2025 they got rid of E85 capability for the 6.8L??
Great to know...Let me circle back on this!
XLT premium, not just XLT.
Good comment, you are right! I mentioned in the video!
Why does a gas engine need two batteries?
For owners who tow trailers with large electrical loads and for other added aftermarket accessories.
It’s an upgraded option
In all honesty it doesn't i got dual batteries and alternators just incase. All it does for most people is added weight and lower mpg from extra alternator spinning.
One of them has the pro power on it, pretty sure that's why, 2000 watt generator feature
@@SteveCallsen True I don't have onboard power but I do have winches accessories 3,000 watt inverter microwave fridge/freezer coffee pot. Also got a life po4 230 ah battery with 300 watts of solar on my roof. For most people it's not needed but for the very small percentage of people like me it's worth it lol. Also I'm in the most remote areas of the lower 48 so better safe than sorry to alternators and batteries make it less likely to have electric issues. For the cost of onboard power i did all that myself. No warranty though so if I did something wrong or it tears up I'm on my own.
Ah-gat-eh…🤣🤣🤣
6.4 Hemi-ZF8 and 4.10’s is definitely the best gasser truck on the road!!!!
That is a great combo also! Thank you for watching!
Disagree due to the MDS crap on it.
For 3k how would you not take XLT.....makes no sense to buy STX for same price....
I completely agree!
Still no cd player 😡🤬
lol “Agotay black”
Haha I was struggling!
💩💩💩💩trotz Kanalsperre 😡😡😡😡😡
Dont waste your time with this review. JB reviews already done this comparison. The 7.3L wins.
@jb reviews. JB help me out. I need some teaching!
This is first of 3 videos. Thanks for watching
