We go same struggle,,, it was on my 20 weeks preggy,,, i had the surgery on November 13,2014,,,wuth god's grace we are both safe and his now 7 yrs old, smart boy.
I had my appendix removed at 20 weeks. I thought it was a bladder infection at first but the x-ray revealed that it was actually my inflamed appendix sitting on top of my bladder making it hurt as well. Surgery was a success and my "baby" is now ten years old. I will never forget the feeling of having my sore cauterized insides kicked from the inside the day right after surgery by my darling little kid to be lol :)

I’m currently on day 2 after having my laparoscopic appendectomy and I’m 13 weeks pregnant. I didn’t realize how many other pregnant women go through this. They did multiple ultrasounds and fetal heart checks throughout my 2 days there and I’m home now. Definitely very scary and I hope everything stays ok.
Omg how scary. I'm 6 days out and still in pain. Can't find a comfortable position to sleep. Doc didn't want to do a ultrasound, ct scan just went straight to get my appendix out. It wasn't appendix it was my ovaries, it twisted and the pain was unbearable, appendix was swollen and they took it out anyway. Glad you and baby are okay. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and it's scary.
For me, i was 21 weeks pregnant, sharp stabbing pain on my right lower abdomen, can feel baby kicking but still worried, went straight to ER, did blood test, WBC was high, did ultrasound, found out i had acute appendicitis, doctor said it would be much riskier if we didn’t do surgery, so was scheduled for laparospic appendectomy, my baby boy was all fine strong heartbeat and can feel his kicks which reassured me all through out this nightmare, still can’t believe i went through all of that 💔 my baby boy is so strong 😭💙

She reminds me everytime she kicks my sutures😂but I’m grateful to be well and healing together with her. Hello Maria, I watched your video a day before I was also diagnosed of appendecitis. I am 5 months pregnant and scared of loosing my second baby. Glad that you are working at the Hospital when it happened. My appendicitis is aldready ruptured when I had my operations. (And it was so so painful + contruction) Doctors at first thought I am Preterm Labor because of so much pain. Good thing they found my Cervix is closed. Thankfully opperation went well, me and my baby are doing ok. We are on 5th day at the Hospital and hopefully discharge tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your story. God bless with your Family.❤
Im experiencing pain in my lower right side as well, pain come and go its like when I eat then I move all of a sudden it hurts. Im not sure if this is appendicitis, and Im planning to have a urinalysis test to check if this is appendicitis. Im 23 weeks pregnant right now, so nervous and hopefully its not appendicitis 🙏 Money for the operation would be a big problem if ever :'(

Thank you for posting. The same thing happened to me in June of 2019, but unfortunately I was misdiagnosed and lost my baby at 23 weeks. I have been trying to find someone who had appendicitis in pregnancy and your description of symptoms is all very similar to mine. Thank you posting, and I’m glad they were able to figure out what was wrong in time.
Just went thru a similar situation, I went to the ER thinking it was something dumb like been constipated. But it was appendicitis. At almost 34 weeks, it became high risk. It took a while to find a surgeon and OB willing to do the surgery. I started having contractions after coming surgery 7-8 contractions every 10 mins. They gave me medicine to stop contractions and gave me steroids shots for the baby. I'm home now, 2nd day of recovery, hopefully I can make it to 40 weeks with my baby.

I got my surgery just 3 days ago. I am 28 weeks pregnant. Thank goodness my belly is small and my doctor sed that it is safe to do full cut operation. I was so scared for my baby girl. But everything went well. I am feeling really good. Thank you for your experience. That make me more chill😊😊😊

I just had a lap appy on Monday, which was my 13 wk mark. Frustrating thing is that I was misdiagnosed the day prior with "round ligament pain" and discharged from the ER with instructions to drink water. That was it. So next day it was worse, so I reported to the hospital where my OB has privileges. So glad that ER did all of the appropriate tests. Removed before rupture. Baby is doing well.

Where exactly did the appendix moved to? I am 21 weeks and have lot of pain in lower right side area (right above the right pelvic area) they could not see my appendix in the scan but they said the appendix should have moved up and sent me home with Tylenol.
If you need medical attention please go to your closest medical center. In my case the appendix moved up and they were able to see it with an ultrasound and confirmed appendicitis with the laboratory work. Hope everything goes welll for you and your baby
Hi Maria..I also have the same experience nearly 5 years ago..i was 7 months pregnant at that time..thanks God my baby boy and I made it through, 2 months late I deliver the baby through normal delivery.. 2 years later I was pregnant again with a baby girl..however last week I was diagnosed with umbilical hernia, don't know if this past operation has been the cause of it.. still paining but getting there slowly slowly..
I had an emergency lap appendicectomy in March 2018 at 22w pregnant. Horrid experience and was told I could lose baby as appendix had perforated, so it really dampened the remainder of the pregnancy. I ended up having a CS at 37w due to preeclampsia. My boy has a cerebral palsy like disability but I’ve no idea what the relationship is with my appendicectomy. I have nightmares and flashbacks a lot! So glad you & your little boy have recovered well. Thanks for sharing your story x
Rachael, going through any surgery during pregnancy is really hard. Is your boy having any therapy to help with his condition? My understanding is that this surgery doesn't affect the baby, however lots of things can affect him during the birthing process. I hope you find some help to process what happened. I definitely had to go to therapy to accept and process my surgery so I could move forward, specially for my baby. Big hugs to you!
I got discharged from the hospital after getting treated for accute appendicitis for 5 days and went to ER for straight continuous 4 days where they didn’t identify the problem initially they straight away send me home treating with IV finally 5 th day they admitted me in the hospital and treated me with antibiotics and I am currently 28 weeks pregnant ….. I have gone through the horrible pain and 10 sleep less nights …….. finally started recovering….. the only heartbreaking and the stressful thing is they have done the CT scan for me I know this is not at all advised for pregnant ladies and not at all good for growing baby …. Will this have any impact? This pain is killing me 😭
Hello Vineela. I'm glad to hear that you are recovering now. Please know that babies are more resilient than you think and most likely she will be fine after the CT Scan. If you feel more pain or that something is not right, just go to the ER again or ask your doctor. You are on the final stretch now and need to take care of yourself and your baby as much as you can. I had a appendix pain 8 March 2021 and went to er the said I need to have surgery then they tested for COVID I was + but actually I was not positive right next day I was negative 😭 doctors didn’t did my surgery they treated with antibiotics... after one month I got pregnant!! These are strange times indeed, but above all we need to trust and not to live in fear. 💙 Appendix pain can be confused with intestinal pain or gallbladder pain. Since you are pregnant it is so important that you are calm and aware of any pain so you can tell your doctor right away. Same here,got my appendectomy surgery last September 22,2019 with my 14-15weeks baby.I was really scared don’t know if I can go trough normal or c-section delivery next year the hospital told us that it’s their 1st time having a case like mine.😭
I’ve been having a pain also around 13weeks pregnant and researching what could be causing this. This my 3rd pregnancy first 2 are boys so With this different symptoms I’m getting I’m thinking it’s a girl. But I really don’t think it’s “normal” and after knowing this I’m scared to get it checked out. Thank you for sharing

Sahara, I’m sorry you are going through this stressful moment. I was able to have a good pregnancy after my appendectomy. I delivered my baby via C-section and he is now 4 years old, healthy and perfect 😍. I hope you stay healthy after this and May you have full term pregnancy and deliver easily 🙏🏼
I had a laparoscopic appendectomy it was so scary😔 im 17 weeks pregnant and had horrible pain and throwing up i new it wasn't normal pain from pregnacy so i went to the emergency didn't know what was causing pain so at the end they did this ultrasound and found out my appendix was inflamed i had surgery and im going through the worst pain ever😔 taking strong pills for pain hope my baby is ok😢
Where was your pain at exactly? I am having horrible pain right next to my belly button on the ride side and it kind lingers right sideways going down the belly and it’s freaking me out :(
I had my appendicitis surgery at 14 weeks, yes the worse pain ever. the C section was a day at the beach, compare to this pain. I don't wish that on anybody.
I was 6 months pregnant when I had my appendix removed. No complications, but one of the incisions from the laparoscopic surgery didn’t heal well. I look like I have a second belly button. 😂

Nan ‘59 😢 the worst pain ever! Not even my delivery pain can be compared to the pain of the appendicitis. I had to be under morphine the strongest painkiller!

Yes, it was a misdiagnosis and they did not give me a CT scan. Appendix ruptured and caused pre-term labor.

Hello Vineela. I'm glad to hear that you are recovering now. Please know that babies are more resilient than you think and most likely she will be fine after the CT Scan. If you feel more pain or that something is not right, just go to the ER again or ask your doctor. You are on the final stretch now and need to take care of yourself and your baby as much as you can. I had a appendix pain 8 March 2021 and went to er the said I need to have surgery then they tested for COVID I was + but actually I was not positive right next day I was negative 😭 doctors didn’t did my surgery they treated with antibiotics... after one month I got pregnant!! Iam 6 weeks pregnant I’m really scared and confused will the appendix pain comes again😨 please help me

These are strange times indeed, but above all we need to trust and not to live in fear. 💙 Appendix pain can be confused with intestinal pain or gallbladder pain. Since you are pregnant it is so important that you are calm and aware of any pain so you can tell your doctor right away. Same here,got my appendectomy surgery last September 22,2019 with my 14-15weeks baby.I was really scared don’t know if I can go trough normal or c-section delivery next year the hospital told us that it’s their 1st time having a case like mine.😭

I’ve been having a pain also around 13weeks pregnant and researching what could be causing this. This my 3rd pregnancy first 2 are boys so With this different symptoms I’m getting I’m thinking it’s a girl. But I really don’t think it’s “normal” and after knowing this I’m scared to get it checked out. Thank you for sharing

I just done appendectomy last few day, 10 Oct, around 8pm at 27 weeks pregnancy. I’m suffering the pain right now, couldn’t find a good position to sleep, I feel pain every minute while sitting, standing, or on the bed 😭only painkiller can control awhile

Sahara, I’m sorry you are going through this stressful moment. I was able to have a good pregnancy after my appendectomy. I delivered my baby via C-section and he is now 4 years old, healthy and perfect 😍. I hope you stay healthy after this and May you have full term pregnancy and deliver easily 🙏🏼

I had a laparoscopic appendectomy it was so scary😔 im 17 weeks pregnant and had horrible pain and throwing up i new it wasn't normal pain from pregnacy so i went to the emergency didn't know what was causing pain so at the end they did this ultrasound and found out my appendix was inflamed i had surgery and im going through the worst pain ever😔 taking strong pills for pain hope my baby is ok😢

Where was your pain at exactly? I am having horrible pain right next to my belly button on the ride side and it kind lingers right sideways going down the belly and it’s freaking me out :(

I had my appendicitis surgery at 14 weeks, yes the worse pain ever. the C section was a day at the beach, compare to this pain. I don't wish that on anybody.
I was 6 months pregnant when I had my appendix removed. No complications, but one of the incisions from the laparoscopic surgery didn’t heal well. I look like I have a second belly button. 😂

Nan ‘59 😢 the worst pain ever! Not even my delivery pain can be compared to the pain of the appendicitis. I had to be under morphine the strongest painkiller!
