@@seelenwinter6662 I respectfully disagree. That girl had what so many people dream of. She should have been included with the other greats, Whitney, Aretha, etc. while still alive. She WOULD have been whether she lived or died. True talent is rare.
R.I.P. sweet Amy 💔 She was burying her broken heart😢The headstone read 'Here Lies The Heart Of Amy Winehouse', but it was removed after her sudden death. She battled bulimia in her teens/20's, alcoholism/drug addiction in her 20's. When she wrote 'Back to Black' her biggest vice was alcohol & weed (''You love blow, and I love puff"); she spiraled downwards and was in a deep depression ('I go back to black'), drinking everyday - but when she got sober, she blew up worldwide with Back To Black (her 2nd album) & was relatively 'healthy'. Then the scumbag that destroyed her (‘Back To Black’ is about him) went back to her when she released the album & used her as a meal ticket. That's when she went really downhill & got into hard drugs with him - she married him, she adored him.....but he was so toxic & tragically she paid the price for loving him. The entire 'Back To Black' Album is a *MASTERPIECE* .....It literally saved my life....Amy got me through one of my darkest depressions - I'm forever indebted to her.... She had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing voice and you have a LEGENDARY artist....gone far too soon....this world & fame was too much for her to cope with. I will never forget the day she died - 23-07-11...I couldn't even listen to her music for over 6 months, and I still cry for her.....she was my Muse. I love her acoustic version of 'Back To Black' live from Dingle - flawless! Also, listen to ‘Love is A Losing Game’, ‘You know I'm No Good’, ‘Rehab’, 'What Is It About Men', 'Valerie' (live acoustic), 'Me & Mr Jones' and a couple of covers - ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’ or Hathaway's 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' - just WOW - mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 BTW Her 1st album 'Frank' is also amazing - she was only 19. I hope she is finally at peace🖤🌹
@@ConstantGardener-q9q we’ve been lucky enough to have been in vocal performance since we were young so when we get a chance to connect with an amazing artist it just makes sense!!
Amy was unique. She's a member of the 27 club; its a group of artist who died at the age of 27, like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison or Kurt Cobain.
I am 54 years old and a former alcoholic. I've been drinking for 15 years and I've been totally sober for 24 years. Life is not any better. I drank to relieve a malaise whose cause I still don't know. It was self-destruction and I was aware of it. After totally stopping drinking, I had 14 years of happiness and one day I fell into depression, 10 years that it lasts and I still don't get out of it. I now understand why Amy self-destructed. We may have everything, but a malaise can destroy everything
Amy Winehouse R.I.P. was one of the greatest British singers of all time, and like some other global greats, she left us far too early. Every track on the "Back to Black" album is a gem. She grew up listening to music from the jazz, pop and soul greats of the sixties & seventies, before she developed her own landmark style. Another emerging great who had similar influences is Angelina Jordan from Norway, now 18 but has been singing publicly and internationally since she won Norway's Got Talent at age 8, and released her first jazz album at age 12! Her influences include Billie Holiday, Etta James, Shirley Bassey, Dinah Washington, Whitney Houston, Elvis, Adele, and of course - Amy Winehouse. After you have seen more Amy, you need to check out Angelina, because even at a young age, she will blow your mind too. As for a British rising star, Chinchilla is one of my favourites.
The late twenties were a death sentence for so many great artists. Their talent peaked way too soon and their star burnt out way too early. What a talent - what an icon. Do yourselves a favor and watch her receive her Grammy.
Black = Depression, Sadness & Alone in this since. Btw, Amy wrote all the lyric's & they were truthful too, she was married to a P.O.S called "Blake" who was a heavy drug user, a Junkie & unfortunatly Amy got hooked on the hard drugs as well, poor Amy. She was a special person who left the world too soon, RIP Amy Winehouse September 14th 1983 - July 23 2011 💐🌻🌼🏵🌹
What you’re describing with how she maintains her own unique phrasing/lyrical timing while still keeping within the boundaries created by the beat, that is something that you hear with a lot of classic jazz and r&b masters, the most famous probably being the legendary Billie Holiday 🎶🖤🎼
I am from the UK, but I only really discovered Amy's music after she passed. I still regret this, because I could have gone to see her live. 😞 R.I.P. Amy.
Every generation a star is born ,-!; Amy was one of them. Just on another level. Wait until you see/hear her in the “Valerie” (acoustic) video, where she sits in a chair picking her nails, playing with her hair and knocking out what is one of the most incredible vocal performances I’ve ever heard, and it’s effortless. RIP Amy.
God, what a loss to the music world. Miss her sm can't believe it's already been 13 years since we lost her... forever in our hearts beautiful soul. They did you so dirty 😢
My fav amy song you know I'm no good what a talent she was sadly missed I still play my back to black 5 Grammy award album and Frank god bless amy winehousexx niklax
I disagree; I don’t think she ever actually said that. I think it means a void, depression, emptiness. Of course substances could be used to cope with that, but I don’t think she explicitly meant that in the lyrics.
The reason you say that her vocals are doing its own thing from the beat is because she would write an entire song wit her acoustic guitar and the producers did their own thing around the vocals she would had already laid down.. thats cool you caught that
It wasn’t just down to being recorded separately. She had her own phrasing that could weave in and out of sync with the song’s regular rhythm but still staying on time. She did it just as easily in live performances.
Hey,nice reaction.Amy was amazing indeed. It's unbelievable that you guys didn't know her. Anyways,i have a suggestion for you.If you want to discover the best blues singer in the world today, check out "Caught out in the rain" live at the Royal Albert hall 2018 by Beth Hart. You thank me later.😉👍
She died of alcoholism a few years ago she couldn’t escape her drug and alcohol addiction I think fame was to much for her to deal with so she hid her insecurities with drugs and alcohol but the guy she was involved with enabled her addiction that is why she couldn’t remain sober
Amy Winehouse would have gone on to conquer the world of music, had she lived. There is always those that compare her and Adele , but they are very different , and AMY will always be locked in Time . Love your review style , very smooth ..

She was casting a shadow on Adele, Duffy and others outshining them but then the sadly the sunwent down on her. She was special, selfless, a trendsetter while just being herself and doing her thing. I would say love and greed from those she loved killed her.😢❤
A tortured but a legendary artist loved by millions. It's such a shame that the recent movie, also called Back to Black, shied away from the darker aspects of her life and personality, because we as a nation were ready - and perhaps needed - the unvarnished truth. We all know about the alcoholism, the drug abuse, the chain smoking, emphysema and bulimia. We all know how volatile and out-of-control she was. We didn't need a saccharine piece of mythmaking that insults our intelligence and does a disservice to its subject. We knew all of Amy's flaws but loved her anyway. R.I.P. you beautiful soul. ❤
