Very useful list of tips and tricks to shoot interesting videos! “Avoiding static shots” and “keeping clips short” alone helped me recognize some of my past minor mistakes. Thank you!
As a solo travel vlogger, those tips I will keep in mind and try using them.
Thank you.
Thanks for all those great ideas. Solid and practical.
Great video, I enjoyed the cinematic technique. It really does make a difference to personal video. I plan to try soon. Make some more. Show more details how you setup and do those. I've been a subscriber for a few years now. 😃
Thanks for the feedback! I have more how-to videos on the way 😊
Great tip No 6... thanks Gemini!
Soooooo helpful - thank you!
I'm not using my GorillaPod for shooting my videos and I just don't know why. :)
What a good idea you just gave me!
Thanks for the video.
I wasn’t either until recently. It’s still a handy tool to have in your camera bag!
I don't know why, but you blowing on the flower made me laugh. I always get a kick out of the behind the scenes stuff. Great information. I enjoy your content.
I do so many weird things behind the scenes to make a video scene happen. That’s worth a video in itself 😅
Thx! I will be starting to film myself soon with my pocket 3. I also heard the 9 shot rule is great to try:
two each of establishing, wide, medium, and close-up shots. And 1 unique perspective like a drone top down.
Good tips for filming yoursefl. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video. Splendid tips. Thank you for posting.
Super useful. I’d love to see a video about shooting discretely in public settings.
Great idea! I’ll add to the list
Brilliant video. Thank you
Last year I spent 10 days in the Himalayas. I had my A7iii, DJI Action3, Gopro8, DJI drone, Rode mics. Took about 20 hours of video footage. I myself got bored within an hour of watching. Your tips in this video could have made such a big difference.
This was so helpful, thank you.
thanks for great sharing
Hey, thank you. Great tips!
Excellent work and tips
This is very helpful. Thank you ❤
Great tips! And really well done.
Wow. Your good i must try it ❤
Nice tips ! Its look like another person shoot on you...thanks for sharing..
Useful tips for the solo shooter! The slow motion suggestions were very good, as was making sure there was motion in each scene. Having lots of b-roll really does help provide interest, like the flower and the tree. I liked that you then showed how you put it all together at the end. One trick I used in one of my films was to compress a long walk into a short scene. I used a fixed camera but butt-spliced three short parts of the walk together, really moving things along while still giving the sense of how far the characters had to walk. Thanks again!
I love your videos. You are so clear and matter of fact. I’d love to know your take on shooting while driving, and the best mounts for the pocket 3 in a car. ❤
Great video, I ordered that suction cup you use in your video. I used your affiliate link to make the purchase.
Great tips and love the final video! When’s the sequel coming out!? 😉👌
Good question! What else do you want to know about filming yourself?
I have been subscribed to your channel for quite a while now, but never left a comment. I don't often leave comments, but this time I feel compelled to comment to just say thank you so very much. I have learned so much from watching your videos. Particularly Gopro settings videos. Again, Thank you. 😀
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching 🙏
Hi Gemini! Do you normally record in which frame rate? 24, 30, 60? thank you
I normally shoot in 30fps. Will be doing a video on this topic soon!
@@Gemini_Connect thank you so much! Nowadays things are changing so much we are all a bit confused with which frame rate should we use!
I'm actually looking for gear. Not sure if I should go for the Osmo Pocket 3 or the Insta360 X4.
I like the DJI for 20mm FOV which is enough for your frontal shots but fear of missing the other moment. The Insta360 can shoot all the moments but I don't like the distortion and too big of an FOV. It's mostly just school filming so I wanna capture those kids moment 😂.
IMO it comes down to how much editing you want to do later, as 360 cameras require much more editing work than normal cameras if you take full advantage of the 360 mode. I have a 360 camera and only use it for action; the Pocket 3 and iPhone are my daily carries and I use them for 80% of my TH-cam videos.
@@Gemini_Connect good point. I guess it depends on what kind of school video shoot I'll take. I do plan some cinematics but that's going to be like once a couple of months. Otherwise, it's mostly gonna be lots of actions, sports, dances, assemblies, etc. I'll keep that in mind on my next purchase. Thanks a bunch 😁.
Not to start ANYTHING but do you EVER shoot 24p? I'm TRYING to determine if 24 or 30 is right for me. GREAT tutorial! Thank you.
Bo
I rarely shoot in 24fps, but I always EDIT in 24fps. If I do this and shoot in a higher frame rate like 30fps, it gives me the flexibility to apply slow motion in editing. Hope that makes sense, but if not, I think this is a good future video topic!
@@Gemini_Connect I appreciate it very much
I am told that DaVinci Resolve is very difficult to learn. I want to make the leap from Capcut to DVR, but can't gather the courage to do so.
Tip number zero: go to beautiful places! 😅
My Brain Hurts. A good thing. Thanks!
