I ordered the Falcam 38 Backpack clip v2 after your recommendation. Hopefully it arrives soon so I can test it. Thank you for the recommendation!
Just slides right in ... right in there... right... What the F#*! lol
That had me lmao
If that isn't a "that's what she said" then nothing is.
@@annebokma4637 😂
i'm dyuing lmao
All I want is the perfect quick release, all I want is the perfect quick release 😂
And then Sony will come out with quick release that is faster than everyone else, but will wobble every 3 seconds. And Kasey will torture himself to get it not to wobble. And he will make 10 videos just for that.
I would like to inform you that FALCAM is a separate company from Ulanzi. They have partnered on some elements like the tripod and backpack clip, but Ulanzi is mainly a reseller for FALCAM. FALCAM makes F38, F50, and F22 quick release systems. FALCAM is spelled in all caps, btw, i’m not just yelling their name.
The sweater and fireplace are so wholesome. I’m not used to seeing wholesome on camera channels.
That thing will keep you warm in a snow storm
Ulanzi is hands down my favorite camera accessories brand
same! although I prefer the pgytech quick release system
@@MovementDrifter PGYtech does not have a complete ecosystem and Ulanzi sneakily sells a plate that is compatible with both PGYtech and Ulanzi F38 quick release bases.
they have a great history in cloning peak design
@@cristibaluta as long as its cheaper and works
@@cristibaluta So? If its a solid product at better pricing, I'll take it. You only pay for the Apple premium R&D price for a carbon fiber tripod that is to be abused in variety of environment.
"I feed them milk and watermelon juice" - words that have never been said before in the history of time.
😂
I said it the other day...so, yeah.
🤣
I bought the Falcam system too for everything from gimbals to tripods and slider. No brainer. Greetings from China and thanks for the laughs !
Saving my mind… I have worked so hard to get all my gear to run on Manfrotto plates - tripod, monopod, gimbal, strap just so I don’t have to piss around with tools while the shots fade away. This is super cool. The long Manfrotto plate is a nice camera foot.
Omg. That soft comforting voice in the beginning. This mic does your voice right
HAHA I just had the same issue. My order just got delivered and I was trying to figure out how to attach it to my pack. I didn't know that bit at the back detatches 😂 Thanks for that!
I use Pgytech quick releases for all of my stuff. I like their backpack clamp better the Ulanzi's but the rest is pretty much all the same. I'm with you I wish all the companies used the same style clip.
….. me too!
Been searching for this comment. Pgytech already makes an Arca compatible quick release system and the backpack clip looks a lot sturdier than Ulanzi's.
I actually bought the Ulanzi Quick release plate 1 Year ago because of your review.
You cannot explain it, but it just makes you genuinely happy if the camera attaches 2 seconds faster.
Casey I love this channel. No bullshit, no nonsense just straight to the facts with a great human creating for us. Thanks dude and yes Ulanzi is freaking epic shit
I've been looking for a video that explains this system. Makes total sense now.
I travel by bicycle. Therefore I have the ulanzi hummingbird quick release. Tiny super lightweight. Put it on all my tripods and cameras.
Ulanzi is absolutely great!
You are like some manner of Bob Ross of photography with a portion of sarcasm that only takes us to the edge, but never goes full ignorant sarcast. I watch and can feel the tightrope walk so close to the edge....
Peak design has an ecosystem like this for years, a bit expensive though, but real solid
Thank you, I learned smth new today, superb content and vibe.
I had a long day at work.. I came home and watched this. This is exactly what I needed .. :) so damn good. Proper entertainment and informative ! win win !
Just bought a tripod from Ulanzi, with the quick release system + backpack clip, game changer!
Ulanzi make a camera bracket that has peak design in one direction and F38 (Ulanzi) the other. This means you can use the PD camera clip on your bag, and Ulanzi head on your tripod. This is my favourite setup. I also use the Ulanzi camera brackets on my Ulanzi video lights, so they fit on my tripods as well.
I love the new Ulanzi 40w led light & the super cool soft box it comes with too .. I do like what they are doing
I'm using these releases on everything already, they are amazing
thanks for the video went all in on this system based on your recommendation - its great
I am an Ulanzi fan too :D and also waiting for the perfect camera. This is probably the most perfect camera channel!
Falcam/Ulanzi also makes a f38 plate that fits the peak design clip. Instead of being a square like the normal f38 plate, one dimension is slightly wider so it will fit securely in pd and a few other mounts like older Ulanzi heads.
Wait link me please ?! So it works with my pd clips but also the ulanzi stuff? Does it work with the new f38 head? That’s the issue I find. I use the old ulanzi zero y head because it works with PD arca Swiss plates.
@@SneakyCaleb yeah. if you search 'falcam f38 pd' it comes right up. It is a little tricky to use as one direction fits and the other doesn't. But each direction is labeled as 'F38' or 'FOR PD Capture V3' in white print on each respective side. The f38 direction is slightly more narrow (like half a millimeter) and will not lock in that direction on the pd clip. If you are still curious I could do a video.
it will only go into the PD Capture one way so have to align it properly.
@@halifaxzapp I use the PD clutch strap and it relies on one of the small corner holes to be connected. Maybe you can look it up and see what I mean. I don’t think the f38 will work in the trip for f38 and PD then
Ah. yeah I'm looking at an image of the clutch strap now. The f38/pd plate should still work with that setup actually. There are still the holes and notches in the corners to allow a lanyard to be strung through without getting in the way when the plate is inserted. @@SneakyCaleb
Discovered this 5 years ago with Peak Design clips
I was going to say...hasn't the Peak Design clip system been around for like, a decade now? I'm pretty sure Capture Clip v1 came out around 2013 or 2014...
@@ryankwan1934I can bet it was chinese design bought by them just to sell it West. Thats pretty common tactic for decades now.
Peak Design doesn't offer a quick release for third party tripods.
@@Turnip_ But Falcam has an F38 plate compatible with both F38 and the Peak Design Capture Clip
@@Turnip_The capture clip is Arca Swiss compatible so if the tripod head is Arca Swiss…
Thank you so much for sharing!!🙌🙌
Always love your honesty with aa comedic twist.
It’s about rats have you ever had one 😂
Yes!! I love this system
When are you bringing back the podcast, Mark? It's been two years! :D
@@yawningmarmot haha - you might be the only listener!!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisisIt's still really good though :D
And with the audience you have on your channel now I'm sure you could get a whole bunch of listeners if you mentioned the podcast in a video ;)
It's really funny I was using their gear way before it became popular. I've been using their tripod and their early stuff and now I'm switching over to the quick release stuff as well. I'm glad you highlighted this company as they make some really good stuff. I like the fact that I can just be walking, put my camera on the tripod and then when I want to look at a different composition I can quickly put the camera on my chest and then I can be walking to the next spot within seconds, saving a lot of time and safety as well. I don't have to carry my camera in my hand, great video
Great channel, very unique style and it is funny to see him struggling not to laugh at himself with all the things he says !😂😂😂
This has to be the best product review, Ever! You had me at "slides right in there..."
Oh, wait, that sounds wrong!
Man... I don't even like cameras all that much, but I watch your show as you're funny as hell. Keep em coming :-)
Salesman of the year 2024!
Standards are great. We should have as many as possible.
They’re great! I’ve been using them for a while now.
The snake plant is just sitting there judging me the whole time.
...been using the F38 stuff for a little over a year... love it
I like this system. You can also buy this F22 (maybe) half width plate that I find works well on lights.
I love these!
I live by these. I have them of 4 Tripods, a Monopod, bottom of my Gimbal, Camera Strap and will put another one on something soon as I see the need.
And yeah it slips in smoothly 😂 when you are not making a TH-cam video.
I am interested are you going to show us your rats and where is the rat show? Ulanzi great product! Thanks for sharing!
I enjoy your content. The way you talk & your sense of humor is infectious. I wanted to ask if you are shooting interviews indoors and you could only have one Insta 360 Ace Pro or DJI Action 4 or Go Pro Hero 12 which would you choose? I will be using my cell phone as well to get a second angle. Thanks
You really crack me up dude
I got that system (V1) but I had the same problem as you with the tripod and v1 backpack plate, I got stuck over and over. And when shooting an event, those seconds count. I then moved to the PGYTech option and I'm very happy with it.
Exciting useful accessories
I got pissed off with a similar situation years ago - different tripod heads and other accessories I had, using different & incompatible QR systems.
I ended up switching everything over to arca Swiss compatible QR & plates. All my main camera bodies now have Arca Swiss L plates.
I don’t use backpack strap QR holders though, I prefer to put my cameras away and keep them safe in a bag.
Yes I’m commenting again, this episode deserves it ! Bravo ! :)
I really like pgytech quick release and backpack clip
With that roaring fire in the background, all you need is a pipe and slippers and it would be complete.
I've been using the F38 quick release system for about 2.5 years, and I'm extremely happy with it. I would recommend cleaning it with WD40 every couple of months to keep the mechanism smooth. Cheers.
Bang for you buck Ulanzi can't be beat.
UTEBIT or nothing
Not only that, I find their designs to be often superior to even the more mainstream brands like smallrig. I'm really impressed by both the quality and the designs they come out with. I prefer my Ulanzi cage to my smallrig one in more ways than one!
@@simonthibodeau7082 I recently bought 2 cages, one smallrig the other Neweer, and I've been impressed with with neweer and the premium price the smallrig costs just isn't justified. But each cage has unique features that make more sense for different users. my 2 cents
That's a good look for you!
And I just happened to need a tripod...
I used to think that Arca-swiss is the best "universal" system and it still kind of is, but I got the F38 plates too and it is at least also Arca-swiss compatible. The quick release on the F38 is great (when it works, as you nicely demonstrated ;), but companies always try to get one up over the competition, that's why they're not cooperating... In any case, you can as you said transform almost any tripod or gimbal into accepting F38, by replacing the head (if it allows) or by clamping the bottom quick release plate (which is also Arca-swiss compatible - one tip: if it still wiggles after clamping it down, try some tape around the edges and then clamp it... the tape makes up for the slack and now it's rock solid on my mini tripod).
Spit out my coffee at 1:47
😂
Wake me up when a company finally creates a solid quick-release system that does not rattle even slightly, but also manages to integrate it into L-brackets.
Hey Kasey for your freewell tripod, you can clamp the ulanzi f38 base into the arca swiss slot and then put the camera with the f38 plate into the base. It's 1 addition piece but it does the trick. I had to do this to make my Pgytech Mantis compatible.
No you can't, the Freewell has a little knob that won't allow the Ulanzi to lay flat.
@cameraconspiracies oh shit. If I remember correctly, I think the pgytech one had the same, but they were removal. Get a little Dremel tool and cut it off 😆...
Every time i try to buy some system like this I get confused by their website offering a million different things and then the price is in another world... then I buy another zhiyun quick release since those fit my tripods and gimbals and desk mount... no backpack though
1:47 You’d make one helluva Ulanzi sales rep…
LOL again ! :-) ;-) You forgot the cornflakes for your rats ! ( Whole wheat , bran flakes actually ! of course ! )
The quality of that mount for the backpack strap seems horrible vs. Peak Designs' mount. I've had theirs since the first one came out around 2013. Still as good as new.
Ulanzi also makes a plate that works with their system and a peak designs backpack clip.
Who's gonna tell him? This system was invented by peak design.
@@cristibaluta too bad peak design over charges for all their over rated stuff though.
@@jaymichaud1447 No, ulanzi is cheap because they didn't put much effort into designing
LOVE this channel!!!! but wait... Shouldn't Peak Design be credited for the invention of this? :)
😂😂😂 this dude is awesome
This looks like it would be compatible with similar products from Peak Design. I use a PD Capture clip on my main camera, and brought a compatible mounting plate from the top of my tripod for about £10. Fairly cheap Manfrotto tripod with a slightly dumb round mounting lug, that now screws into the bottom of the Arca-Swiss compatible plate rather than the camera.
"If you can't beat 'em, make 'em bread."
You had me smiling about putting it on for the first time, I had the same problem, I was scratching my head like a monkey.
"why the fu..!!"
lmao
I have the f38 quick clip on my large 150-600mm tripod foot and the peak design clip on my camera ... both clip into the f38 quick release thing. Buuuuut I found that the peal design clip fits way better and no rattle even tho the f38 rattles a bit in its holder I haven't had any failures I should mention. But I have both so I use the f38 quick release thing on my peak design. Quick release dangles things to connect to my peak design strap
I thought it was Peak Design who were feeding the rats watermelon first. I use a PD one whilst riding my motorbike , no wiggle and locks closed.
Thanks for doing this video. Living in Taiwan, I'm in the Ulanzi universe. But when I went to buy the QR, the guy told me there were types and I didn't buy either one. Now I know to get the 第二個 version. But I won't put it on my MT-44. You need to review that Ulanzi tripod/selfie stick genius product next. Oh, and I can't believe they named the system "Falcam." That's the last thing I want to hear when I clip onto a QR.
I love and buy Ulanzi products, but I'm so integrated into the Manfrotto Pl200 plate system with tripods and monopod, suction cup mounts for windshields. But for on the go, handheld stuff It's Peak designs products. Their dual plate they offer will do Manfrotto Pl200 and Arca on the same plate mount, which can be pulled off my tripod and snaps into the capture clip on my backpack. And Peak design has a gopro mount that also snaps into the Capture clip, It's a never ending rabbit hole it seems as my 2 cameras also have cages which use Arca mounts on the cage bottoms, but I don't use the Arca system.
Man, you're looking goooooood
Actually, Ulanzi makes good stuff and the prices are reasonable. I have a bunch of their stuff. I like those i-lights. Affordable, portable, super long lasting battery.
I just wish a manufacturer would finally integrate this into a 180° rotatable mount that also has an anti twist baseplate and accepts telezoom lenses
It would be my holy grail and would make life SO much easier
before watching this episode, don't forget the springloaded battery (and usbc) powered fan for Sony cameras..so close to click that buy button for my A7c2!
Depending on the cage or camera bottom, the plate might not solidly press against the body and stay tight.
I had to add another screw to my plate to have 2 connections to the camera.
Camera kept swinging on my tripod at first but now the issue is solved.
"It's the easiest smoothest to put in."
*Struggles to get it in*
"I swear this is the first time I've had this problem."
I want them for accessories like a monitor but they look just way too small for the camera.
If I didn’t already have 3 Peak Design Clips and 4 plates and get into the Ulanzi system, the Zero Y tripod accommodates the PD clip but not the F38.
of course you couldnt put that thing on the tripod with seemless fludity when it mattered the most:D. what else ....this is my live in a 10 sec biopic hahaha
I would like to trust those quick release backpack clips with expensive camera gear because they free up your hands but I think I would be nervous about using one.
while I love the ulanzi stuff, the f38 standard sucks as they made the plates a couple mm smaller than the global standard, so if you have a older plate it will not fit in the ulanze quick release. had they made it so the quick release would hold a arca swiss plate the wrold would be better
The “square head” (Robertson) is actually a Canadian invention.
1:35 LOL
I love the snake plant
Kasey, all you need is a virtual vintage smoking pipe to go with the sweater and fireplace.
Man, you're lookin gooooooood
I’m enjoying your cardigan today
I do the same with the peak design stuff. It's annoying they don't do a tripod head you can get separately. You have to clamp it.
Things I do not need that I add to my shopping list and think about buying because they are cool. I should get some rats.
You could use a "NICEYRIG Camera Cheese Mounting Plate" which would allow mounting multiple QR plates in different orientations.
PGYTECH MASTER RACE
I feel the need to buy something, fun video though!
Can you get two (1/4" and 3/8") screws through to the bottom of the camera? Otherwise this will probably come loose mighty quickly, esp. f. run&gun situations.
I've found that if you use a fairly heavy camera/lens combination then the F38 base plate works loose from the camera in a fairly short time if you use it a lot. They sell another version of the plate with an anti-twist fitting and that works much better. I use a peak design slide camera strap with an F38 shoulder strap so the camera is quick release and hangs with the lens pointing down by my side - much more comfortable than a traditional strap and much faster to use
Do you mean the Ulanzi Falcam F38 Quick Release Top Plate V2 2401A ?
@@TheRimma Yes, that's the one. The "anti-deflection" model
I will be the first subscriber on your rat channel.
If you replace the coldshoe on the ulanzi MT-46 mini tripod with a camera base, you can clip it too to the backpack :)
