    The 2.7 was designed to be turbo charged whereas the 3.5 turbos were added to an existing engine. The 2.7 in my F150 is awesome, I have a 93 octane custom tune and it will go! I would choose the Fusion over the SHO just because of the 2.7 engine choice.

    This is a sexy looking, smooth driving car. I don't know why everyone hates on it. The interior is a little boring but it comes with ambient lighting to spice things up and if you get extras like Navigation it definitely makes things more interesting and fun. I currently own a 15 Fusion SE and I have no complaints. I plan on getting a Sport within a few weeks :)

      I wish i could've leased my 15, I'd get one or treat myself and spring for the MKZ. But, I purchased mine so I'm going to drive it for a couple more years to gain equity and sell it.

    i love your car reviews mike. im upgrading my 2014 fusion se to a 2017 sport because of the v6 twin turbo and style and amenities/festures that are safety oriented like lane departure warning and uphead near collision display for my daughter too. love the reviews. ill tell the folks at freeway ford in minnesota im upgrading because of your cool videos

    I picked up my 2017 Fusion Sport Wednesday night. Traded in my 2010 fusion sport and the new one is awesome! I only have 100 miles on it. I was worried about the sound of the motor (only ever heard the engine sound from vids on youtube) and I will admit its much better than I thought it was going to be. So far I am really enjoying it and happy with my purchase.

    i went and test drove this vehicle today. it's a great car, resonable performance and killer price. my only grit with the car is it has great mid range torque, then falls on its face approaching shift points. i feel like it needs about 50hp more. torque is excellent, horse power needs some attention in my opinion. overall great review for a great car.

    Just picked this up (black w/gray int) and love it! People need to realize that: it's a midsize sedan and not a track car. So with that said, I love it and it is FAST! Handles well too, just minor trim issues I have is: the chrome pieces on the exterior should be matte or flat which would make it stand out as a SPORT, wheels are sweet also. Interior is fine as it is but overall I'm very happy. Also got $3250 in rebates! (extra bonus), thanks for the review Mike!

    I am a big fan of the Fusion Sport.. I have recently purchased a 2012 Sport and I'm in love with that design in particular. Not looking to trade it, but I may want to go out and test the 2017 Sport. Took them long enough to include LEDs in the design.
    Thanks for sharing.!

    the console is one of my favorite parts about this car. very nice use of space. and the dial shift, really gives you more access below the screen. which I love to use that spit for my phone give the Bluetooth access. so to me, the dial is actually even more convenient for space access.

    Car and Driver got this car 5.1 sec to 60 mph and 13.7 sec in the 1/4 mile. I seen one test where this car reached 60mph in 4.9 sec (in cold weather albeit). These ecoboost engine DO need break in time, sure maybe not all but the 2.7 DOES. Got almost 5k miles on my Sport and I absolutely LOVE it!

    Ive loved the Fusion Sport ever since it came out in 2010. My family has a 2010 Fusion base model, so Im very familiar with the older design. I love the older design over the new, because its SIMPLE but yet sporty and has enough features on the higher models. But when the 2013 design came out, I thought they would never bring the Sport back again. So Im really happy with Ford. Those rims could be bigger too like you mentioned. I think their too small for the car. But I would still buy this car one day. I would buy a 2012 Fusion Sport in candy red before Id buy something this high tech.

    I like it very much. But I would like for the rear deck lid spoiler(wing) to look like the one on the 1997 Ford Thunderbird. When it is too molded to the car like the newer cars are now a days it just looks like a part of the car, instead of setting it off from a car without a spoiler(wing). What do you think about my idea?

    I totally agree about the fake engine noise through the speakers. I rented a Fusion Titanium for a week and it was a turnoff. (actually I wished I COULD turn it off). My son at the age of four had a bike with a battery powered box that made motorcycle sounds. Reminds me of that.

    I picked one of these bad boys up on the 5th and I LOVE it. However, I'd like to know more about this "induction noise" I've heard you mention a few times and what speakers have to do with it. One of the things I love about it is the sound. Are you saying that sound is fake? I'm trying to find some info on this, but not having much luck other than some tidbits on noise cancellation speakers that are apparently not uncommon in new cars these days. Is that what you hear in the FuSpo?

    • @BmacRDX
      @BmacRDX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sound isn't fake. There is ANC to get rid of unwanted noises, but the sound you hear is the real sound. The sound isn't coming through the speakers, either.

    Def on my top 5 list for my next car. Wish there were other color options for the interior though. Dark earth gray is nice but prefer a black interior as well. White on black leather would look real good. Imo, that chrome strip in the rear is tacky. I would plasti-dip or get it vinyl wrapped in gloss black to match the lower valence. Cool videos man keep it up!

  • @Roddy451
    @Roddy451 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    As an owner of a 2012 AWD Sport, I was waiting for this model to arrive. My expectations were also higher. I was hoping an 8-speed transmission would have made into production. That can help with reducing the turbo lag. The AWD system remains a reactive one rahter than an active one. The mechanical sound from the engine is not inviting. I couldn't care less for the idea of artificial engine sound. As much as I do like a "sleeper car", they could have put more effort into making the exterior different, and I mean, not make it look a bit garish like the previous generation sport I own. A more distinctive front end, and even a slight taillight treatment would have gone a long way. The same goes with the interior. It looks rather "cold" inside. As for the shifter, it is already an automatic, so the rotary system is welcome because of the extra space. There were a couple of omissions on your review. One, is the select shift would still upshift for you. That is silly. My old Sport will hold the gear until either I shift or it hits the rev limiter. The other omission is a major one. This model has an adaptive suspension system exclusive to it. The fact that you don't mention the ride quality as much different from a Titanium leads me to believe that it is either not that effective, or that it is simply pointless complexity. Other than that, the review is the most helpful I've found and one that will keep me away from the showroom floor. Sorry Ford.

    Hey there Mike, I've been selling Fords/Lincolns over 10 yrs. you must remember, if testing a dealer car, it has 87 octane fuel in it. The test specs are with FMC's chosen 93 octane, I don't know why they decided on that when all other manufacturers use 91 octane, except in the UK, where their fuel is around 95 octane equivelent. The 315 hp is actually n 91 octane in the Edge Sport. And for the fusion sport, they just rated it on 93 octane, there by adding the extra power. And on dealer gas, it's 305 hp/340 tq... On 87 pump. Great videos as usual. But your just not getting the full power out of a dealer car.

    i absolutely agree. I too have a '15 Fusion Titanium in black on black. The question becomes if I was going to buy a new Fusion, would I pick the new sport over the Titanium? Absolutely, but I all ready having a great Titanium I couldn't justify the difference on having to sell and then start all over. I still love my beautiful, sporty Fusion anyway and there wasn't enough of a difference to justify the process again.

      Mine does this, but it isnt the engine its the transmission. My speedometer is moving up, but the tach stays at 5 for a solid second.

    I would much rather see all the chrome in a gloss black like the pillars on the door as that would make it flow much better in color design and make it look much more aggressive in my opinion. I would like to see the wheels a full 20 inch as well to fill the wheel wells better.

    Mike..... isn't it time to get one now? For fun? I think it would be good content to buy one and tune the hell out of it... maybe incl other internals if that's possible, other turbo's.. And go to the dragstrip :) I mean... let's be honest. A Fusion needs to be in this channel ;)

    Glad you mentioned three lack of torque below 2500 rpm. i get the same feeling in my 2013 Fusion SE, i thought it was just muy imagination. Although above 2500 rpm it really pulls.
    Question regarding Sport mode...i can't find any documentation about up/down shifting. Whats the optimum rpm to speed range. Shifting automatic seems different from shifting manual. Thanks.
    Awesome video as usual!

      I never really use the paddle shifters.. I just shift at around 6 grand if i'm pushing it.. if you don't do it there the car will do it for you

      interesting. i dont have paddles on my 2013 and i never knew it would shift for you. is that only at redline or does the computer automatically shift at certain intervals while in sport mode? ie 2500, 3000,4000,5000 etc...

    As for my thoughts on the Fusion models. The Sport is definitely worth the money and the speed is amazing. I'm not sure how I feel about the suede inserts yet on the seats. Almost feels like cloth seats, but it does keep you from moving. I wouldn't mind all leather. If you don't get a Sport, I would rather a fully loaded Titanium with 19" wheels. I think the Platinum is too old man feeling with the rims it has and the interior dash color isn't fantastic. I do wish all gray seats/dash/wheel was an option on any trim.

    Thanks for your review. During our test drive of the Sport I found the ride to be firmer than a Titanium. (Even in normal mode we felt more bumps.) Can you comment on the ride? Handling was better on the Sport. Or do you think it rides the same as your Titanium?-Lee

    Did that car for $40k come with the blind spot monitoring, side collision warning, and all the other driver aids or no? I ask because I'm probably to get one with the dual moonroof, and upgraded stereo system.

    • @AutoVlogOfficial
      @AutoVlogOfficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one was missing the BLIS/lane keeping system and collision warning. Also, the Fusion does not come with dual moonroof, you will have to go Lincoln MKZ for that.

    • @EatMyPropwash
      @EatMyPropwash 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AutoVlog that's ok. I actually love e the mirrors on the car. Most people just turn and stop when the car beeps at them... 🙄🙄🙄. What's your opinion, is the extra stuff worth it or not? Does it help resale value or not really? Can you add that stuff later to the car?
