I also over water my plants! I've been doing bottom watering for over a year and just learned I should top water to flush out the soil. Very helpful video! I feel like I didn't know how to properly top water because the water would pour out immediately.
Sometimes I do the best of both worlds. I'll take my smaller plants put them in a vessel. Then I water them from the top and let them soak in the water that runs through the soil for maybe an hour or so. Water attracts, so they thoroughly saturate faster.
Actually, there is one more, very special difference between top watering and bottom watering. In some cases, top watering can cause gradual soil structure degradation, which is called dispersion. Bottom watering doesn't have that issue. Of course it depends on the substrate composition. If these is a real soil or some clay and silt added to the substrate and it has been formed into nice aggregates, bottom watering would save it's structure for years. For peat/coco coir based mixes or coarse mineral mixes it doesn't really matter. As few people use natural soil and even fewer of them do care about having a good soil structure, it's rather kind of nerdy trivia anyway.
What can make leaves go soft and yellow with a pink shade and brown blotches? Also I have many problems growing plants in a grow tent that I never had just growing indoors?
I bottom water all the plants that I can. This is in an attempt to get right of fungus gnats. Some plants I can't bottom water. I've done: bottom watering, add dish soap, alcohol, mosquito dunks, and peroxide. Gnats are still around 😓

Misting helps to unfurl the leaves/flowers. Sometimes they are stuck in covering leaves and a short period of wetness helps them to get free.

Those pots with no holes are just for decoration purposes. You just have to put a plant with a pot in it.

Try mosquito bits or systemic mixed into your soil
Do you use plain water when you bottom water? Or do you also mix fertilizer in the water and bottom water that way?
