Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is one of my favorite animated films. I love that Mr. T voices Earl and you also got Bruce Campbell aka Ash Williams as The Mayor lol.
This movie has such a unique animation style. I wish other movies tried to be this experimental. Not to mention, the soundtrack is actually pretty good.
I ain't gonna lie,there were kids movies and shows that hit harder than movies and shows actually meant for adults. Just look at the land before time. We used to take children seriously and treated them as people capable of thought and tried to pass down hard learned lessons and wisdom so that they wouldn't make the same mistakes.
Land Before Time is good, but let's not pretend that old kids movies were inherently better like that. There was a *lot* of stupid, infantile dreck back then too. You just only remember the good bits. It'll be the same in 10 or 20 years when people compare the garbage of then to stuff like Cloudy and forget that junk like Sing or Turbo even exists.
Love this movie. I have really fond memories of reading the book in school. It was a very short book and didn't have this kind of plot at all, but I think they did a good job taking the idea and creating this whole plot and all the different characters.
Always can't believe they got Mr. T, he wouldn't have been a part of my childhood if it wasn't for this movie. Glad I was able to appreciate his preference before it was too late, I was born at the exact right time.
I'm glad u guys liked this movie so much but have u never heard of the children's book it was based on? The movie's plot is it's own with the characters and all but it steams from the whole 'small town on an island where food falls from the sky' base. But it didn't dive into how or why. I liked that they did that here and gave it a scientific explanation. That book was a very big thing at my middle school so it's very close to my heart. And there are so many little things they took right out of the book and placed them in the movie for us to spot (the giant pancake on the school was one of them). I would love a giant strawberry! U see, one could make a giant pancake, cinnamon bun, pizza, wanton (all of which I'd love too) but strawberries come from nature and they don't grow that giant. And I want one that's like the size of a pumpkin! I heard about a cafe in Texas that makes cinnamon buns that are like that size of a bongo drum 😋
The Fact that Neil Patrick Harris voiced Steve and Bruce Campbell voiced Mayor Shellbourne still surprise me it took me years to realize they were in the film.
Keep watching "kids" movies, they can be rather enjoyable. Maybe its because I'm a dad but I like watching kids movies. Also, you should go ahead and watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.
Not sure if he would've solved world hunger. The issue could've been solved generations ago. Main reason it still exists is because those in power always like inducing as much scarcity they can get away with so long as they can profit.
Honestly probably my favorite animated movie. It’s so genuinely funny. Makes me laugh like an idiot. Fantastically written and equally fantastic characters. The humor is on point. It’s clever, quirky, and just a ton of fun. Glad ya’ll discovered it.
What I love about this movie, is that the premiss is such that they could have gotten away with wall-to-wall dumb jokes and a moral. Yet, they actually put in a whole bunch of pretty damn clever jokes as well, often disguised as just being typical silly jokes. Case in point 20:11 They could have just left it at Baby Brent running off as a failure, but that "Who am I!?" elevates the joke a couple of levels. 😀
This movie was my favorite 3D experience. The spaghetti tornado sequence in particular was stunning. There are definitely more movies out there where 3D was an afterthought to make extra money in ticket sales, but Cloudy is not one of them. If home 3D tech ever makes a comeback, I hope y'all use it as an excuse to give this one a rewatch.

I do suggest the sequel, it builds on the sentient food idea and while it's not as good as this one, I think it's a fun watch and the visuals are delightful in that film too.
Y'all wanna know what's good? You get either homemade meatballs, or frozen turkey meatballs, I like those, then some Rao's spaghetti sauce. Simmer that up, after browning the meatballs.. then for the bread get the frozen garlic bread and get two slice, and bam, meatball sandwich..
If you're gonna continue with tv shows you should absolutely do X-Men '97. It is so good. Not only the best marvel produced show/movie in recent years it's one of their best, period.
This movie was not underrated at all when it came out and yet SOMEHOW it's still an underrated movie. I can't express how the animation style in this film was a GAMECHANGER when it came out.
Wow, that came close to making sense. It didn't, but it came close. Frankly, if anything, it's pretty overrated. That's not to say it's bad, in fact, it's fairly good, but to say a movie where nearly every fan of animated films worships the ground it walks on is somehow UNDERrated is absurd.

The sequel is even better. My husband and I are almost 50 and we watch it all the time. Not even ashamed, it's one of our favorites 😊 When you get a chance please please please check out cloudy with a Chance of meatballs two ❤❤❤
