    Can you snap existing joints to center of an edgeloop that is part of bigger mesh? Seems impossible to do in maya.

    stop using hot keys - if I want to enable changing pivot point with out hitting insert what needs to be done?

    • @WorldofLevelDesign
      @WorldofLevelDesign  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hold 'D' key and modify the pivot point.
      Hold 'D' and 'C, V, or X' to modify the pivot point and snap to an edge (C), vertex (V) or grid (X).

    For the love of god, all I want is to know how to make a face, like in Blender with the f key, but in Maya! The append option doesn't work, the connect option too doesn't work and I'm stuck!

    • @WorldofLevelDesign
      @WorldofLevelDesign  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try Bridge, select 2 edges and Bridge.
      Append or Bridge should work, if it doesn't you might have some issues with geometry.

    • @ajononikostudio
      @ajononikostudio 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      WorldofLevelDesign Thank you so much for your response, I had just realized that that's an option but even though it works it only does so sometimes. I've tested with different and simple geometries, i.e., I tried to have the edges further from each other, closer to each other, rotated differently or being placed almost on different height levels and the bridge tool works sometimes, more often than not it decides to create a "glitchy" cross instead of a straight face. Honestly I'm pretty put off by this and I now understand where Blender excels, but something tells me that Maya could potentially be more usable for modelling if a Wacom tablet were to be used together with a precise and pressure- sensitive pen, I'll test out my theory once I get a hold of one by the end of this year.
      Luckily my university and its Games Academy doesn't require me to use Maya, Blender is the required 3D modeling program to use. I'm learning to use Maya out of both curiosity and future interest for more often then not companies require either proficient knowledge in Maya or 3DsMax, Blender is mentioned quite rarely and mostly alongside those other programs.

    got the same one as you but the whole right hand column is completely different...you got channel box/ layer editor with tabs on side saying attribute editor and channel box/layer editor...
    I got Modeling Toolkit / attribute editor with no tabs on side like you...never mind had to activate it...considering this is based on AutoCAD why the frick is it totally different in using! like WTF

    Maybe I'm blanking out here, but what is the insert key? Or was it a shortcut command?

    • @WorldofLevelDesign
      @WorldofLevelDesign  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Insert key toggles to modify your pivot point on objects.

    • @uuuuu1111

    do you know there is possible bind hotkey for grid subdivision?

    • @WorldofLevelDesign
      @WorldofLevelDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't found how to do that yet. But I haven't tried it recently with new versions of Maya. I feel that there has to be a way even if it's using the Mel Script into Custom Shelf Icon.
