I recently 100% Mega Man X Legacy 1 + 2 and was thinking about doing that now that I know all the annoying crevasses of each game. I had played all of them before anyway (Except for 6 and 7) so I felt like getting to know the games first was better for any sort of recording. Now that they're at 100% I was damn right, when I played 4, I just played it, but getting it to 100% in the collections is a massive journey, now that I know how to get the endings and items, I can just play the games in the ways that can let me show off the most of each game. Still don't know if imma record them any time soon, I've got a colossal amount of vids to edit and kinda got lazy about it, but I'm taking uploading those vids one by one.
honestly dr light is kind of a giga chad here he knows that zero was built by wily as a last ditch effort to take over the world, and yet he still helps him here
My headcanon is that Light built X as a response to Zero, and that Wily stole Light's free choice AI that powers X and put it in Zero. And that Light knew deep down that Zero always had that capability to be good, since he wrote the AI. He had faith that Zero might eventually choose good, which is why he didn't just try to find Zero's capsule and destroy him back in the day, using Mega Man or something. Light doesn't want to tell Zero his past because he's worried it will close a circuit and turn him into a killing machine again.
@Zedrik Allen In the ending for Bass in Power Fighters reveals Zero's origins. It doesn't explain if X came first or not but it wasn't a response to Light making X. Wily wanted to build a robot to surpass OG Megaman when he created Bass... but Bass was sort of a Prototype since he accidentally made a new element in the process (which he called Bassinuim), and Zero was the perfected design based on that element. So knowing that Light would be making X is irrelevant Wily will always try to 1up him and Megaman

I believe Zero came first as a Wily number to take down MegaMan (The Power Fighters) but in MegaMan X5 it's revealed that Zero's original goal was to take down X, so we can assume that some time after Light began working on X Wily got ahold of this information and switched Zero's goal of taking down MegaMan to destroy Light's newest robot, X.
to be honest, i hardly believe dr light is just a programed hollogram, im sure he is alive inside those capsules just as Data thats why u cant find the Ultimate Armor Capsule on Megaman X1 or X2 or X3 because he knows X body isnt ready for such power

@@LockeLynx I think Trigger X meant that telling Zero too much about his past could possibly awaken him like the bad ending of X5. (Though that did require a lot of virus exposure to lead to that point.) Although the idea of someone randomly mentioning Wily, having Zero awaken and immediately throw away his Maverick Hunter Life to destroy "Him" is kind of silly. (Or perhaps scary if it's that easy...)
There's also the possibility that the Dr. Light we see in these capsules started as just pre recorded messages and then by X4 he developed to a AI that could work on data for X's new armors, thanks to the new technology from 21XX. So maybe this Dr. Light does lack the knowledge of Willy ever existing due to original Light deliberately omitting all data from Willy in the pre recorded capsules, therefore this AI doesn't have any recollections of his rival.
To think of it Zero really behaves like an actual human teenager. Dr. Light: I am sorry Zero. I am unable to make any power up for you at this moment. Zero: I don’t need power ups and you are not my dad and I will make sure nothing hurt X so no worries and just be quiet old man. Cerveau: Come Zero. I can turn your beam saber into shield and rods. People in comments insisting that Light was right to not let Zero know as it may awaken him, but at the end of the good route Sigma outright spills the beans and Zero doesn't really give a crap.
Dr. Light knew among thousand places in earth where would exactly X would going to. He predicted who would be enemies in X1, X2,X3, etc... And deliberately placed those armor under their nose... And he predicted those a century earlier...
My theory is that the A.I light sends them to these locations when X is going there. How would capsules be in areas like the giant tank in X2 or the cyberspace in x7, or the weapons bay in x6 otherwise?
I like to think that this "hologram" of Dr.Light is somehow an early version of a cyber elf, maybe merging his soul with an AI program. At least this is my headcanon that connects the X saga with the Zero saga
if Dr. Light could program an AI that can think and feel for itself, then it stands to reason that digitizing his own consciousness would be easy for him.
It's pretty funny seeing Light be caught off guard by things and apologise for not telling Zero what he wanted. Really humanises him, which is weird because I don't know if he can be considered a human at this point.

Light never repaired Zero, it was a translation error from US Capcom. Probably Wily himself did it, as u can see Light doesnt know nothing about Zero's systems.
Yes if some random mavericks can repair and upgrade zero what stops Light from giving Zero some armor data upgrades? And it has been said that both X and Zero's technologies are compatible with each other meaning Light only needs a detailed scan of Zero to try and modify him

I really think that, like Wily have his consciousness in Serges and Isoc, Light have also his consciouness in another reploid hidden somewhere, that is continiously making new upgrades for X and transfering a part of himself into the capsules so he can guide X. I mean, I can't really see how there could be that many armor that works so differently and how Light could know about what's going on and characters that he never met like Alia or just Zero.
No one knows if Serges is really Wily, but there is clear evidence a link exists - he could be a Wily bot too. Its a nice mystery. Isoc is definitively Wily.

Take this now. He is your nemesis, DESTROY HIM!" "Our rivalry gives me motivation in life... and that motivation made me create your new buster" "Go, Zero, conquer the world!" "You are a God of Destruction... DESTROY THEM ALL! With this new special attack I made for you." "Change the world, Zero... do what you will! You are the mighiest of them all!" Which Zero promptly ignores because that sounds like Maverick Talk to him. Zero just takes the armor, refuses to elaborate and leaves because never had time for this grandiloquent megalomaniac shit.
I wonder if Dr. Light managed preserve his consciousness as an AI hidden in his own network using those Light Capsules kind of like servers. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about Zero, but Alia.... her own talents as a operator aside she’s just a replica. One of millions based on X’s principle design. The only explanation is that Light or something made in the image of Light was made for the purpose of watching over X as he struggles through his difficult long life.
This is my assumption. Light is indeed an AI but one that was created thanks to 21XX technology, not by Dr. Light himself, he only did the pre recorded capsules from X1 to X3 and then the technology from the era merged with its capsules and knowledge to create his AI and even more capsules / armors for X. I mean, by 21XX there's literally physical cyber spaces, mass production of Reploids, cities in the sky and fully cybernetic environments all over the Earth which could have come in contact with these capsules allowing to interconnect therefore developing an AI based on Dr. Light knowledge about X, so something like that wouldn't it be too illogical to think about. Now, this AI would start learning about X interactions, conflicts and teammates since the previous capsules had partial access to X, therefore giving to him some sort of bridge to all of X's new data: Zero, Repliforce conflict, Maverick Hunter's headquarters, Sigma Virus, Nightmare incident. So tl;dr: X's Light started as a pre recorded message and eventually developed into AI that started caring more about X's current life, so is only natural that Light learned about who Alia and Zero are.

@@GTA2SWcity I was writing the lore I knew until my PC got invaded... Anyway, shorter version then: Dr Cain reactivated both Zero and X through Light schematics. So probably he was the one to question Zero about Light in the first place, thinking Light made Zero. Zero got mad because of Wily shenanigans, but this was before the first X game. So Sigma got infected by Zero Virus and thus Sigma Virus was born along with the Mavericks. Sigma must got invaded because he almost got killed battling Zero. Soon after that he went missing, as a maverick most likely. Zero joined the maverick hunters, but Wily memories faded away along with the virus, which is probably his original programming. That's what I recall from the lore without searching. And it is my shorter version from before, lol.

As far as what is canonical...We can't make assumptions the hologram of Light's technology systems was acquainted with Dr. Cain, nor can we assume it wasn't. Until something more concrete comes along to erm...shed light on the subject (no pun). Although in Cain's journal he found the capsule with X, IIRC it never talked about Dr. Light (or more to the point his hologram A.I.) in any great depth. Also the writers prior to 1993 either weren't aware of the overall plan of Capcom (the initial fight between Zero and Sigma), or were prevented from revealing more because that fight was only first revealed in X4 in 1997. Light's hologram was probably aware of who Cain was though. Obviously as the man who uncovered X. But there's always been that ambiguity to suggest Light's technology systems worked in secrecy.
If Zero founds light capsule he will responds to Zero means he's an AI and if Zero found leg parts of the Blade Armor in X6 Light will responds to Zero Light: I know they're still need you and X so that's why you live
If Wily made an A.I., I'd think Light could and would, too. Both breached the need for Asimov's Laws around the same time with X and Zero. Light's Capsules would have to be A.I.-driven to know who Alia is. And yes, Light's A.I. would be compatible with the code of the time since everyone used X as a basis for their reploids. As for when the armors were made, not sure. We only know that the Gaia armor was an early design.

Sure was nice of Dr. Light to set up a bunch of prerecorded messages complete with pauses so Zero can answer. He even anticipated him asking about Wily as well.
This just hit me. How is it dr.light is speaking to zero even though we know he's dead and not communicating from heaven or something? Sure he talks to X but I thought it was just a recording, unless these things have A.I. in all of them.
One headcanon actually is that the Dr. Light Capsules _do_ contain Dr. Light's mind and heart. Similar to how Dr. Wily still exists as Serges and Isoc, only instead of putting his mind in a robot body, he roams freely in Cyber Space, using the capsules as his means of communicating with people in the real world.
Light knew exactly what Zero was talking about, who he was talking about. It's just unnecessary knowledge for Zero to have, since none of it matters. One last gut punch to Wily.
the nightmares zero was having commanding him to destroy x and the reploids.. i wonder if destroying nightmare zero in x6 made them go away and made him feel like he didn't need to destroy himself to make peace anymore..
Almost certainly: he knows Bass, AKA, Forte, is based on CopyRock (the Megaman clones we fight a few times in the NES games), and in the arcade game, it spells out that Bass is effectively Zero's prototype. Hell, in Command Mission: Zero straight up gets a fucking Gospel Boost.
if the Dr. Light hologram was prerecorded, I don't know why he can talk and response to any question regarding to current situation (which is the future in his time) as if he is living. May be his personality & consciousness was transferred to these capsules?

I think the Dr. Light holograms are just AI, but still. I mean, if you take into account that Cyber Elves are like the souls of reploids and can transcend death, the Dr. Wily and Dr. Light are like the first humans to live on in a digital way. Dr. Light in holograms and Dr. Wily in Zero's mind.
My best guess is that if Light's an AI at this point, he may be aware of all the trauma on Zero's mind already (Iris, the aforementioned "Nightmares" of Wily and the pressure on him and X to prevent Eurasia from crashing into the earth) and didn't want to further complicate things for the already troubled Zero. Light clearly wants Zero to protect X and the world, so a white lie to keep him on track with his current goals wouldn't be out of the question, especially if he knew one way or another he'd learn more on his own.

This stuff never made sense. Dr. Light had been dead for decades before the X series even began. These events hadn't even happened for him to make a recording. Okay the first capsules in X1 okay..thats plausible, but the ones afterwards? I mean just the believability of these long hidden parts being superior to top of the line modern prototypes is a little absurd.
There's capsules in each X game so you'd have to wonder how he'd even know the circumstances that X is currently going through. As far as the X5 and X6 capsules go, i feel like Dr Light has written his consciousness in these capsules' AI. which maybe would explain why Zero can talk to it and how Dr Light even knows about Alia, a reploid who was created years after his time.
@@Dekomata Again, it’s A.I. Much more advanced than we might realize. It learns and processes information through X’s encounters. Since X has had contact with Zero and Alia, Light’s AI will know about them too. It can also process info about the events around X. How the capsules themselves are made and pushed out to the field? I don’t know how to explain that one. Just get creative with it.
Because X5 straight up reveals to us that Dr. Light's hologram recordings are not recordings at all, or at least THESE ones aren't recordings. Dr. Light or an AI of him is still around somehow, and so is Dr. Wily. Which probably explains why Dr. Light AI dropped the mask - because Wily is in play and all bets are off.

@@blastshards It was terrible too. Although I didn't mind Zero's game voice. In cutscenes he was terrible, but he sounds in-game weren't bad, unlike X's who was terrible all the way round.
@@shucrut91 It was foreshadowed in a side game and its confirm in a cutsceen that wily himself was in the planning phase of Zero conception. It was showed in X4 on Zero side. A silhouette of Wily is indeed Zero's creator. This was pre x series. Megaman is not known for establishing a timeline events between series. So take it with a gain of salt.

While that can be implied, it is not explicitly stated. I also lean towards Dr. Light knowing this, but there is nothing that shows this.
The proof’s in that Dr. Light hesitates and opts to play dumb. If he’s been an AI keeping watch this entire time, then he was aware during reploid production too, and he’d realize Zero’s not one. If he’s not a reploid and he’s not one of his, then he’s one of Wily’s.

The Black/Midnight Armor is just the Copy Zero that Sigma made. I think it's just a shell/paint job.

I really think that, like Wily have his consciousness in Serges and Isoc, Light have also his consciouness in another reploid hidden somewhere, that is continiously making new upgrades for X and transfering a part of himself into the capsules so he can guide X.
I mean, I can't really see how there could be that many armor that works so differently and how Light could know about what's going on and characters that he never met like Alia or just Zero.
No one knows if Serges is really Wily, but there is clear evidence a link exists - he could be a Wily bot too. Its a nice mystery.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about Zero, but Alia.... her own talents as a operator aside she’s just a replica. One of millions based on X’s principle design.
The only explanation is that Light or something made in the image of Light was made for the purpose of watching over X as he struggles through his difficult long life.

This is my assumption.
Light is indeed an AI but one that was created thanks to 21XX technology, not by Dr. Light himself, he only did the pre recorded capsules from X1 to X3 and then the technology from the era merged with its capsules and knowledge to create his AI and even more capsules / armors for X. I mean, by 21XX there's literally physical cyber spaces, mass production of Reploids, cities in the sky and fully cybernetic environments all over the Earth which could have come in contact with these capsules allowing to interconnect therefore developing an AI based on Dr. Light knowledge about X, so something like that wouldn't it be too illogical to think about.
Now, this AI would start learning about X interactions, conflicts and teammates since the previous capsules had partial access to X, therefore giving to him some sort of bridge to all of X's new data: Zero, Repliforce conflict, Maverick Hunter's headquarters, Sigma Virus, Nightmare incident.
So tl;dr: X's Light started as a pre recorded message and eventually developed into AI that started caring more about X's current life, so is only natural that Light learned about who Alia and Zero are.

Dr Cain reactivated both Zero and X through Light schematics. So probably he was the one to question Zero about Light in the first place, thinking Light made Zero.
Zero got mad because of Wily shenanigans, but this was before the first X game. So Sigma got infected by Zero Virus and thus Sigma Virus was born along with the Mavericks.
Sigma must got invaded because he almost got killed battling Zero. Soon after that he went missing, as a maverick most likely.
Zero joined the maverick hunters, but Wily memories faded away along with the virus, which is probably his original programming.
That's what I recall from the lore without searching. And it is my shorter version from before, lol.

As far as what is canonical...We can't make assumptions the hologram of Light's technology systems was acquainted with Dr. Cain, nor can we assume it wasn't. Until something more concrete comes along to erm...shed light on the subject (no pun).
Although in Cain's journal he found the capsule with X, IIRC it never talked about Dr. Light (or more to the point his hologram A.I.) in any great depth.
Also the writers prior to 1993 either weren't aware of the overall plan of Capcom (the initial fight between Zero and Sigma), or were prevented from revealing more because that fight was only first revealed in X4 in 1997.
Light's hologram was probably aware of who Cain was though. Obviously as the man who uncovered X. But there's always been that ambiguity to suggest Light's technology systems worked in secrecy.

If Wily made an A.I., I'd think Light could and would, too. Both breached the need for Asimov's Laws around the same time with X and Zero. Light's Capsules would have to be A.I.-driven to know who Alia is. And yes, Light's A.I. would be compatible with the code of the time since everyone used X as a basis for their reploids. As for when the armors were made, not sure. We only know that the Gaia armor was an early design.

One headcanon actually is that the Dr. Light Capsules _do_ contain Dr. Light's mind and heart. Similar to how Dr. Wily still exists as Serges and Isoc, only instead of putting his mind in a robot body, he roams freely in Cyber Space, using the capsules as his means of communicating with people in the real world.

I think the Dr. Light holograms are just AI, but still. I mean, if you take into account that Cyber Elves are like the souls of reploids and can transcend death, the Dr. Wily and Dr. Light are like the first humans to live on in a digital way. Dr. Light in holograms and Dr. Wily in Zero's mind.

That's a million dollar question we may never know
My best guess is that if Light's an AI at this point, he may be aware of all the trauma on Zero's mind already (Iris, the aforementioned "Nightmares" of Wily and the pressure on him and X to prevent Eurasia from crashing into the earth) and didn't want to further complicate things for the already troubled Zero. Light clearly wants Zero to protect X and the world, so a white lie to keep him on track with his current goals wouldn't be out of the question, especially if he knew one way or another he'd learn more on his own.

This stuff never made sense. Dr. Light had been dead for decades before the X series even began. These events hadn't even happened for him to make a recording.
Okay the first capsules in X1 okay..thats plausible, but the ones afterwards? I mean just the believability of these long hidden parts being superior to top of the line modern prototypes is a little absurd.
probably A.I. that gains its knowledge from X's encounters. Light did perish, but the AI could take form through holograms
There's capsules in each X game so you'd have to wonder how he'd even know the circumstances that X is currently going through.
As far as the X5 and X6 capsules go, i feel like Dr Light has written his consciousness in these capsules' AI. which maybe would explain why Zero can talk to it and how Dr Light even knows about Alia, a reploid who was created years after his time.
@@Dekomata Again, it’s A.I. Much more advanced than we might realize. It learns and processes information through X’s encounters. Since X has had contact with Zero and Alia, Light’s AI will know about them too. It can also process info about the events around X. How the capsules themselves are made and pushed out to the field? I don’t know how to explain that one. Just get creative with it.
Because X5 straight up reveals to us that Dr. Light's hologram recordings are not recordings at all, or at least THESE ones aren't recordings. Dr. Light or an AI of him is still around somehow, and so is Dr. Wily. Which probably explains why Dr. Light AI dropped the mask - because Wily is in play and all bets are off.

It was showed in X4 on Zero side. A silhouette of Wily is indeed Zero's creator. This was pre x series.
Megaman is not known for establishing a timeline events between series. So take it with a gain of salt.

While that can be implied, it is not explicitly stated. I also lean towards Dr. Light knowing this, but there is nothing that shows this.
The proof’s in that Dr. Light hesitates and opts to play dumb. If he’s been an AI keeping watch this entire time, then he was aware during reploid production too, and he’d realize Zero’s not one. If he’s not a reploid and he’s not one of his, then he’s one of Wily’s.
