It was removed during the copyright fiasco. Lowne said on his discord he’d appreciate his subscribers giving it a rewatch just to get the views back.
There’s actually a mod called FMRS that lets you save the point when you detached a stage, land the plane, and go back to the rocket to continue the mission. It does have a couple mods that are required to get it to work but those mods don’t really change anything important. It’s really helpful for making reusable rockets and launching rockets from planes.
Edit: And the rocket/plane is recovered after you land it.
It's not really that difficult to "release" the rocket give it an apo of about 100k, switch back to the plane, put it on level flight, switch back to the rocket circularize and then land the plane... I say "not so difficult" just because I've managed to do it myself and im not really good at the game. :D

Hey Matt, I know your probably won’t see this, but try putting parachutes on the airplane and have them deploy in the same stage as the rocket launches.
I would also recommend MechJeb for its auto pilot

Matt, for missions like this the FMRS mod may be something useful for you. It’s perfect for landing boosters and such. It adds its own quick save system any time you stage a portion of your craft with a probe core or pilots so you can fly multiple parts of a mission “simultaneously”.

If you make your aerodynamics correctly, you can make a plane glide and gently land at sea with engines off.

Love all your ksp videos no matter what the topic is.
There's a mod called FMRS (Flight Manager for Reusable Stages) that lets you do the going-back-in-time-to-fly-the-other-bit thing within the game. It basically creates a 'bookmark' at the point where the stages separate, then gives you a menu of ships to choose to fly.
He mentioned the Db armory mod which has a part for AI auto pilot that can be set to orbit (clockwise or counter) the place where it was turned on.
But it sounds like he wanted to do a Stock only part.
But I gonna look for it, thank you very much.
@@brunoroomops Yeah a lot of KSP youtubers seem to place great value in playing stock-only. Not sure why: as long as they list what mods they're using in the description I don't see a problem, and it makes for more interest and variety.
Or you could quicksave just before sep, fly the plane back, quickload, then fly the spaceship to it's dest.
@@randomgaming6436 Yes you could, but then in the quickload where you fly the spaceship, the plane still crashes, which means you don't get the benefit of it being reusable in a campaign mode game.

My last captain I flew with here at my company is a pilot on the L1011 Stargazer that launches Pegasus into space. He showed me a night shot from the cockpit of them dropping one and it shooting out in front of the aircraft. Something you really don’t realize is, in the real thing, when you drop the rocket you are dropping thousands of pounds and the effect on the aircraft is like moderate turbulence with a large climb afterwards. Honestly was incredible hearing the stories and it is great that you recreated it!

Have you had a calibration done on your monitor? There might be other colors that you're not seeing accurately. Unless maybe an acute case of color blindness, you should get that checked too just to be certain something else isn't causing it, one should never ignore one's health...

@@Penfold101 Then that eliminates half of my point doesn't it? Look up monitor color calibration, sadly the gear to do it is quite expensive, but I want to do it to all of my screens. A secondary benefit of doing so is that you'll be able to watch movies exactly how the director intended, which is lost when your screen is not set to the industry standard color reproduction.

The clouds are a mod.
it's actually easier to land on minmus than land on the mun because minmus has frozen liquid surface which is perfectly flat and also has low gravity, just play a bit more with the manuever nodes and you'll find an easy way to get to minmus
Getting to minmus landing and returning actually takes less Delta v than the mun. You just need to adjust your inclination to match minmus orbit.
The landing operation on minmus is also much easier due to the reduced gravity.
They only thing that could be considered more difficult is your maneuvers must be more precise because it has so much less gravity and it's SOI is much smaller
@@ATSaale yeah as I mentioned he probably just has problems with setting his manuever since minmus has a more uhh.. "curved" orbit. I had the same problem myself but being able to reach minmus felt like it was tutorial for interplanetary missions
