- Today, Lowne Aerospace unveiled its aircraft that it will use to send tourists to the newly-announced Hotel and Casino resort on Minmus. After controversial claims that the aircraft and overall plan for the base was "dangerous, wildy stupid and completely unethical", CEO Matt Lowne dismissed the claims all "it's just banta fam". Its a different type of radiation. Its RTG radiation and engine radiation, both are part of the radiation

Try pointing the ship toward retrograde while u r slowing down.
Minmus is far easier to land on. It's a lander's paradise. (Maybe you know this by now, but I'm posting for those who haven't figured it out.)

@@chasebaker1611 accelerate in orbit when you are about a quarter behind the mun, accelerate until you see multiple lines around the mun, time warp to the mun orbit, and slow down to circularise orbit. You'd need about 7000dV for an ideal perfect landing. This gives somewhere around 10-20 tons to work with for a payload.

In atmosphere a hypersonic body cannot have flat leading edges or else pockets of air will stagnate and heat up along the leading edge, causing damage as it super heats into a plasma if the speed is maintained.
Well in stock ksp, apparently there is no difference between delta wings and straight wing pieces, only thing that matters is wing area listed.

Spinning like that increases drag and further slows the ship, it was intended and very much not "out-of-control"

reminds me of my "flying pancake" series, a myriad of planes that used a giant delta wing design, the idea was very high lift and lots of intakes to air hog up in the upper atmosphere, back in the days of the simple lift physics they could fly for hours, now I don't think they can even get to upper atmo with the high drag to thrust ratio of current game

I like this video. As to the problem you encountered when changing back to landing gear and how it caused the craft to pop up then back down where you planed to build the hotel and casino, you might want to consider two different departure / arrival configurations for your craft. The first would be horizontal where this is used for departure and arrival at your home base the planet from which you originally departed from. In this case you are using the wheels. The second configuration would be a vertical configuration for arrival and departure from the hotel and casino. In this case would not use the wheels to land the craft or take off. But rather the legs that hold the craft up when landing wheels are retracted. This alliveates the need for your wheels to be enguadged in the first place Moreover this might solve the potential of unintended damage to the craft as a result of enguadging the wheels. Just a thought.

Rolling at 500km/h doesn’t seem to be a problem for those poor wheels 😂
I know this may be a bit late but to stop the wobbling caused by the landing legs you have to right click them toggle the spring strength advanced tweakable then drag the damper strength all the way to the right. Hope that helps!

I haven't play in awhile and I was never very good, but I always liked the idea of the SSTOs so this was very entertaining to watch. I really like the box wing design too.

Have you tried designing a version of this aircraft with diamond-shaped wings (like on the F-22 Raptor or F-35 Lightning) incorporated into a closed-wing system? I wonder if such a wing design would improve upon this aircraft's aerodynamics in some way or another?

It’s reentry you can’t stop the heat that’s why there’s most likely some aero gel on it or at least water in the walls
if your craft is bouncing then you need to up the dampers. the legs have springs and dampers (like car suspension) the springs will just keep going while the dampers will release the energy elsewhere.

today i tried to make an ssto i looked okay but this is what happend when i launched it
1) the cabin wasent attached to the fuselage properly
2) i forgot the intake so i was already buring up fuel quickly
3) the cabin started humping the fuselage
4) i fired up nuclear engine
5) it stared to spin uncontrollably
6) most of the dam thing fell apart and than crashed into the sea

I started playing KSP again and noticed all kinds of new things people apparently have requested. It is quite awesome seeing old comments and videos wanting new features/parts and now actually seeing those features in the new game today :)
What about a modular boxwing style (with micro-station in orbit for swapping 'modes) with separate stages for atmospheric, LKO (low KERBIN orbit) and maybe inter-planetary, along with maybe re-kerbin entry?
- Rapiers on the atmospheric
- high delta burning for esaping LKO and and secondary ones for deaccel at desto, with ion for interplanetary
- maybe an ablative re-entry 'layer' that docks on for easy reentry, even at high speed/bad angles.
And to think Im having a hard time just orbiting kerbin and then I'm stuck in orbit for ever because I have no idea how he's controlling from map.

Awesome SSTO! Probably Squat doesn't want to have fuel dumping on fuel tanks that new players would use. Also dumping highly reactive liquids in space would react with other parts on your ship.
I have an idea, make a space elevator, I think it would be cool to see, and great video!

For landing legs i use the stock airbrakes. You Can enlarge them with tweakscale and it looks awesome.(sorry for my english^^)

Hi, I don't know if you have already done this but the sub orbital hypersonic space liner concept from a UK company (I think) which employs the new however still in development SABER engines, the concept images look really cool, and I'm sure that you could get the blue afterburner effect. Anyway that would be awesome to see, cheers.
I wish that I had a strong enough pc to run KSP, I have it for my ps4 and it's hard to build rockets and space planes.

i tried a Boxwing Shuttle design once. it wasn't very stable, also i had no way of launching it. i tried launching it like a capsule, a space shuttle, strato launch and even a system that used boosters that could be jettisoned (sort of like an SSTO, but the engines that get it up to the upper atmosphere are ditched when the air gets to thin), it made a very effective cargo plane though.
now, (with the 2021 updates) there is a valve you can add to the vessel that let you dump fuel

Very impressive. I have often big plans but once i place a cockpit i dont know how to go on.. often just ending with a same looking rocket.
