  • On this kayak fishing trip, I went out for a fun evening of ultralight fishing for whatever would bite. I was using my ultralight rod and gulp minnows along the shoreline of a creek and caught a ton of fish. Fish just can't resist this bait.

Your channel becomes more interesting since you start produce panfish and crap fishing video. I really enjoy watching this type of video from you, it contains a lot of experience, knowledge and techniques. Can you made more videos for different type of water, such as difference in water clearly, current and size of the river. Also will love to see catching different species with different techniques. Keep up the great work.

Never fished panfish with lures, always worms and a bobber. There's just something about watching that bobber dance. I use a similar rod for planted hatchery rainbows in my area with Berkeley bait. Most are 10"-14", but you can end up with a 3-5 pounder on that ultralight rod.

Richard Gene wraps the hook shank with dental floss and applies super glue to keep the plastic jig in place. It works great. Fixing the jig gets old.

Peanut butter Jars also seal well too... just clean it out good.
Here in NW Middle TN (Clarksville and Paris TN) I love to use Green sunfish for Flatheads. For me green sunfish are the best Flathead bait I've had luck with. Skipjack for great for Blues, but live green sunfish for flatheads. Just my experience, we're all different and thats what makes it fun

New money saving advice, get a pee cup for gulp minnows. Maybe easier to use than the small glass canning jars I'm using. You're definitely right about the ziplock bags gulps come in leaking and making a mess.

"Angel of Death" was hilarious! ;D
Awesome fishing Justin, Always! I went to 6-8lb crystal braid and (if needed for the bite) use a 6ft piece of 6lb test fluorocarbon or mono for a leader. Saves the tangles, as long as you don't cast into the wind with a light jig, and also lets you better handle bigger fish with ease.

Catching panfish is always a good time. A dry fly with a small float for casting weight is a lot of fun too. Those brim will bust the surface going after the fly.
I have to wonder if Justin ever gets in his TH-cam mode and starts to narrate whatever he's working with. If you are ever in the grocery produce section and a guy is talking up his selection criteria while picking out his fruit, it's probably Justin.
