That's my father in the cinnamon bun launch commercial (2 min mark). There was a print/poster campaign as well at every Tims. He's 89 now, and still acting in tv shows and commercials.

Those were the days...when Tim Hortons knew their role. Nowadays, you're just as likely to see one of their workers struggling to assemble a "salad" out of sandwich toppings in one of those Tim Hortons kiosks in the corner of a gas station convenience store.
When I think Tim Hortons, gas station salads should not come to mind...but it does.

I weep for the generations of future employees who will never know the pleasure of truly fresh product. At least when it comes to the baked goods. I worked at a service centre on the 401 from 1997 - 2000. I was there the day we had our Iced Capp machine installed. What a glorious day it was. But the best perk of that job was when you worked midnights and got to watch and smell the baker do their thing. There is nothing more heavenly than a warm, freshly glazed chocolate timbit at 3:30am. It was the real high light of that shift.
The low light you ask? Being proposition by a male trucker for a "conversation" in his rig. The guy ran a local route and I would see him regularly, once or twice a week and so we could chat as he ordered. Do you remember when Tim's offered up the "Big Tim" mug (more like a jug) It could fit an entire pot of coffee and a refill was some thing ridiculous like $4 or something. Remember this was a time when any size of tea was .95 cents. A medium coffee was $1.10? Those were the days. Anywho, this trucker friend took his "Big Tim" 16/17. That's sixteen cream and seventeen sugar.
Well eventually he enjoyed our conversations so much he enquired when I was on my next break was, trying to entice me to visit him out back where he was parked. I mean he was an alright looking dude (despite that coffee order) and all but when I say I enjoy receiving tips at work, those are not the kind I had in mind. Alas, I didn't visit him for that "conversation"
But yeah, in closing, get fucked Tim Horton's.

Just had a horrible experience with tim Hortons. Got 2 coffees and when I passed one to the passenger the lid popped off and spilt all over my seats and the passenger seat the center console and the radio area. The told me that they were not responsible because it happened when I passed to the passenger. If the lid was on right that would of never happened. They are trying to get out of paying for the cleaning of my car. I buy an average of 14 coffees per week. What really irks me is that they made 2.81 billion last year. My goal is to give them as much bad press as possible

The good ol days even through the 90s and early 2000's. The first blow was no longer frying fresh donuts. Then came branching out into other crap that's not coffee or donut related. This led to the loss of shelf space so a lot of good donuts, pies, cakes disappeared forever. Now when you walk in at least in my location there's never much to choose from, the baker makes 1 batch for the day so when they're gone they're gone. The final blow is now the staff are 99% foreign and don't speak good english.
