They, like millions of other couples, had problems in their marriage and got a divorce - much of it caused by John's drug abuse. Cash never claimed to be perfect or a saint, and in fact was very open about his many faults & regrets. There are actually some things that happen that have nothing to do with 'race' - and anyone who truly knows JC & his story would know he was probably the least "racist", bigoted or judgemental person you would ever know.

I am 73 yrs old, and listening to this program brought tears to my eyes. I grew up in the 50ties what a wonderful time, at least where I lived in the northeast Ga mts and my family was more privileged than most. But I remember my days with one of my friends who's parents had a SMALL beer joint in the north end of the county, my friend hated her parents business, but I found it exciting, anyway, I can remember hearing the Johnny Cash song Ring of Fire and just loved it, I was probably, 10 yrs old. To this day I always loved it, and what a different tune it was with the trumpets which had never been done, I think he said that had come to him in a dream (I could be wrong about that, but that might be in his book). I must go now, but he, and so many true musical geniuses are just precious, have never been, or never be any like them again, one of a kind, truly !!!

Odd how we often find lots about persons (like Johnny) and we loved him, his entertainment, etc, but then we do not mean to but we get used to the person, we seem to almost think they will never leave...but they do...and then we discover that we never realized how enormously we loved them and their lives, music. Johnny was a great, humble person and never had that great ego...remaining so humble all his life. An amazing man.

In the early 90s my family was a Carters valley fold music festival. A man came up and talked to my parents about me and my twin brother. He grabbed us two ice creams and gave them to us. My parents were super excited and I didn’t understand at the time what the big deal was. It was years later, in 8th grade, I understood the nice man in a black suit that summer was Johnny Cash.
I was 15 years old on family vacation when this came on my whole family watched it. Story of Jack's death made be a believer then. Thank God for johnny cash!

I’m just about finished reading Vivian’s book, titled, “I Walked The Line” subtitled, “My Life With Johnny” Johnny is very deep and spiritual. Vivian and Johnny were able to spend time together a few months before he went home to be with the Lord. Vivian wanted his approval to write a book about their life together. He told her if anyone’s story needed to be heard it should be hers.

Pappie put that picture in a frame and put it atop the TV.
I tried to get the album 'Cash' it was a 2 CD set, a dj friend sent me one of them, it was not the one I wanted, the other has 'I'm Movin On' I haven't got that, I'm a mega fan
