Thank goodness for the likes of Rick Rubin for helping my generation rediscover Johnny. All of us punks, rockers and burnouts needed. Still love Johnny's Glenn Danzig story.
I must admit, this is not my type of music, usually! but with Johnny Cash, I am very pleased too make a special case! he makes you feel, like you are part of a song, with that very unique bass baritone voice. and this is coming from a prog rock, and David bowie fan.
+bluesatsunset I agree with you apart from" the lord" bullshit....Keep your fairy story uneducated american delusions to yourself and just enjoy the music...
+Josh Whitaker I am being generous here but I guess that you meant "you,re a dumb fuck"...I,ts the difference between saying "Your shit and you,re shit ...get it? What happened is that I learned to think for myself and not just believe ,without question what the grown ups were telling me was the truth...lol...
At 9:15 i luv how he apologizes for his guitar...such a gracious humble man...RIP on this the 15th anniversary of ur leaving this earth....always loved and missed ❤❤
Just watched a Documentary about Johnny Cash in the UK, and one guy describes his performance of Beast in Me here as like watching one of the Great Actors performing Shakespeare. And yes, that's it exactly. Fantastic.
I saw this show when it was on TV, and it was the first I'd seen of Johnny for a few years. A couple of years later, I saw him live and it was the last tour he did... because his health broke down.... So Im thankful I had that chance...
That guitarist is Bob Wootton, Johnny guitarist for nearly 40 years, he replaced the great Luther Perkins. He was voted one of the top 1000 guitarists of all time. He was also Johnnys brother in law, he was married to Anita Carter until her passing.
I can`t say I`m a huge fan but what a great interview . A lot of Jool`s interviewees are too cool to answer questions but Johnny is loving it even singing along to old footage of him .
A great man who was a great musisian. He as done and created the music for many years.Even todays we are listening his music and we will going to listen again and again for the next years!!
Love Johnny Cash. I swear though, whenever I see him now I keep just seeing that meme of him eating cake in a bush. lol "You may be high but you'll never be Johnny Cash eating cake in a bush high.". Regardless, I've always loved him and his music. :)
great story about Johnny and Nick Cave doing a song, poor Nick cave was so nervous he missed his lines and fucked the take, but being an incredible human being and total professional the Great Cash said "sorry Nick I was a bit off there, lets re do that" Nick Cave has said Johnny Cash was "My Elvis"
CJ Mooney Perhaps he was the most popular - like he was in most places, but there are plenty of country singers that became popular in England. Hank Williams snr!
Johnny was doing more for civil rights before it became popular specially for the Native Americans he could have made a lot more money but yet he went to a lot of Prisons and sang for them I miss Johnny Cash and June Carter very much I wish there was more of these people that are popular that would take stand for what is right and I'm not talking about jumping on the bandwagon at the last minute when Injustice becomes popular
On the list of the ten coolest guys, Johnny Cash's name appears twice!
How many people sit amongst the audience, alone, with just a guitar?
Johnny Cash is a legend.
Johnny Cash doesn't just sing, he tells you a story! Brilliant!
Existential I love it soo much!!
S0UND nice statement there

I think everyone is a Johnny Cash fan
Worked his ass off until the lord told him his work was done. A lesson here kids.
A genuine legend of modern music.
+bluesatsunset I agree with you apart from" the lord" bullshit....Keep your fairy story uneducated american delusions to yourself and just enjoy the music...
+romber58 lol. go fuck yourself
+bluesatsunset Exactly the answer i would expect the blond,blue-eyed American version of Jesus to say in his meek and mild way.....
+romber58 nigga its brown hair and blue eyes. Lol, your a dumb fuck, what happened you had daddy issues and lost your faith?
+Josh Whitaker I am being generous here but I guess that you meant "you,re a dumb fuck"...I,ts the difference between saying "Your shit and you,re shit ...get it?

Exactly the same for me Kay, although it was the old eight tracks in the car.
Same here I thought he was cool even though I was small and my mum loved him.
Fantastický Johnny Cash,krásné písničky,nádherný hlas,R.I.P.
A true Legend. The man, his history, his emotions, his creativity, his stories, his talent, his wild side, his peaceful side, a blessing to everyone.

Bob Wootton und Anita wurden 1974 geschieden
Ingried Böke Hey, you are wrong. They got married in 1974 and divorced 1982. FYI /CD
Beautiful June and her wonderful voice.
The one and only Man in Black. Thank you for uploading this in such an excellent quality!
I love that his face makes it look like he's telling a story. Just perfect. 😁😀

I can`t say I`m a huge fan but what a great interview . A lot of Jool`s interviewees are too cool to answer questions but Johnny is loving it even singing along to old footage of him .

The bass player is superb.

One of those few you would rather admire as a Man than as a "star" - he was both, though...
Wow brings tears of pleasure to
my eyes.

Love Johnny Cash. I swear though, whenever I see him now I keep just seeing that meme of him eating cake in a bush. lol "You may be high but you'll never be Johnny Cash eating cake in a bush high.". Regardless, I've always loved him and his music. :)

That bass guitarist plays it just right and I want his black hat
I´ve got one now! Bought exactly same black stetson on Amazon. Looks good on me!
Did you get the eye-patch too :)
Are you going for the 4:49 look?
ha ha ha...thanks for the joke
That´s the one, except I´m much taller and better-looking
"The beast in me" is sung in a better way here than on his CD!
I find most of his songs better live, sign of a top musician if you ask me👌👍
John R CASH was a brilliant live performer.!!

great story about Johnny and Nick Cave doing a song, poor Nick cave was so nervous he missed his lines and fucked the take, but being an incredible human being and total professional the Great Cash said "sorry Nick I was a bit off there, lets re do that"
Nick Cave has said Johnny Cash was "My Elvis"
I relate
Thank you Jesus for Jonny!
Later with JH, its why I pay my tv license.
Johnny Cash is the only country singer who was ever popular in England. It's a genre of music we hate! Which says how great JR Cash was
CJ Mooney Perhaps he was the most popular - like he was in most places, but there are plenty of country singers that became popular in England. Hank Williams snr!
+CJ Mooney That´s a load of rubbish!
+CJ Mooney Country singer...Yeah... "Thirteen", "Hurt" or "Rusty Cage" were typical country songs...
+CJ Mooney wrong, I guess you may be too young to know that Slim Whitman was bigger in the UK than America, even had a no. 1 hit/
Dont forget waylon jennings
R. I. P.
JOHNNY CASH
Luther 🎸 Perkins
Marshall Grant
W.S. Holland
Bob 🎸 Wootton
June Carter Cash
RiP Dave Roe.
Jools looks completely star-struck!
I think Feb 5, 1995.
Thank's to Stefan 1 for Posting.
This is for you Daddy O'
Johnny was doing more for civil rights before it became popular specially for the Native Americans he could have made a lot more money but yet he went to a lot of Prisons and sang for them I miss Johnny Cash and June Carter very much I wish there was more of these people that are popular that would take stand for what is right and I'm not talking about jumping on the bandwagon at the last minute when Injustice becomes popular
It´s Irish! Ghost Riders In The Sky is an old Irish tune called Spancil Hill(County Clare). Yep, I´m Irish!
I can't watch this without singing along. Who in the blue fuck could? He is the man who put RUM into BUGGER.
Only a Brit would say (or understand) something like that....
Video is great but the ads come in the middle of a few songs
Hello everybody, can someone tell me the name of the singer who starts singing at 18:56? Thanks!!
