A month isn’t living here bro. It’s actually a short vacation if it’s international travel. I have over 30 years of experience here in the Philippines and actually been making this home the last six years. And even with that I’m still learning about the good and the bad here. It may take me a good decade or so living here to make a respectable overview of what it’s like really living here.
I visited Cebu Lapu Lapu Mactan Island. There are numerous street venders to buy food, fruits and veggies. It is very cheap. You don't spend a lot of money with USD to PHP conversion rate. Facts bro, there are women in the Provinces that are 22 - 24 that are virgins. I respect that about these women. That is remarkable in these days.
Glad to hear a perspective beyond the old dudes. Seems like most retirees are clustered in the same economic group and talk about the same things, get into too much drama, etc.

Question, You have been to Colombia and the Philippines where are you happier? I’m interested in seeing both countries. Is there things about Colombia that you like more than the Philippines? 🇨🇴VS🇵🇭
I think at the start I was more happier in Colombia just because it was my first time living abroad, I wasn't desensitized to it, and I was set up with very good roommates
Phillipines sounds pretty interesting! However maybe too laid back for some younger people though, at least Cebu. Still gonna check it out though, but probably some nice islands, and less cities. Thailand is perfect for younger people in my opinion. Lived there for 1.5 years and will be back soon. Only big issue is the visa situation in thailand. I have done tons of research lately but I can't find a good way to stay for longer periods of time. Only thing that allows that is the elite visa, but it's expensive as hell. And honestly it's quite annoying dealing with the insecurity of them not letting you back in again, and doing visa runs all the time... How are you handling the visa for thailand? Just regular visa runs every 60 days? Cheers
Hey bro I'm currently in that same problem and also it's not worth the elite visa in my opinion since you're still only on tourist rights. Most likely will be doing student visa then try to invest in a business or get a job
I chose Cebu as a base because of the favorable Visa situation in PH. Bali, Thailand, Vietnam are not feasible if you are early retired in your 30s or 40s and not eligible for a retirement Visa
The province is more of a slower pace lifestyle, nature is more abundant and perhaps central to the way of life, and people are both more relaxed and perhaps socially conservative. However, I would caution you about making comments about the women’s virginity and whatnot because it’s inappropriate and borderline disrespectful and people may misread what you’re trying to say.
Disagree. Virginity and purity was ALWAYS a virtue and should be commended. It's the toxic Western mentality where promiscuity in women is tolerated and even encouraged
