Law enforcement issues warning about youth mall 'takeover' in L.A. County

- After the Torrance Police Department warned the public about a planned youth "takeover" of a local mall, a second Los Angeles-area law enforcement agency issued a similar warning. In a post to Instagram on Friday, the Carson Sheriff's Station said it received information about a "disruptive youth gathering" planned for Saturday at the South Bay Pavilion, also known as the Carson Mall.
The sheriff's station had coordinated with the pavilion to be prepared for the potential gathering. The reported gathering was similar to a potential planned "takeover" that Torrance police say was targeting the Del Amo Fashion Center on Saturday as well. Late Saturday night, however, it appeared the public warnings, preparation and heightened patrols were able to dissuade any large gatherings or takeovers at either shopping center.

I worked at Carson Mall 20 years ago. Every day, the same old suspects would try to shoplift. I remember one day, a guy in his 30s (I was a late teen) came in & we even exchanged some friendly chit chat. I turned around for a second, and he was trying to steal one of our most expensive jackets (I saw through one of the hanging mirrors).
Naively, I ran after him, and he actually gave it back to me. Stealing and shoplifting must be a cultural thing for these people, doesn’t matter how old, so disgusting!

Torrance is one of the safest cities in world for a reason, the cops do their job. When someone rob a store anywhere in Torrance, 50 cop don't show up at that store, no only 1 cop car will and all the rest will surround the city while getting info from the cop at the store so they can look out for the a matching description of the robber and catch the thief just about every single time. When the riot was happening in LA and the bad people were driving everywhere looking to destroy cities after cities, well in Torrance, once again the cop surrounded the whole city and any car that did not belong in Torrance was immediately turned around and escorted out of Torrance. Torrance is a rich city and the cops are well paid and have a boss that cares about his job and does his job well.*

All those teenagers should be charged as an adult. All police officers and sheriff deputies shouldn't be afraid of using their batons. Charge all their parents as if they were there and failed supervision of their children.
