Love to see this kind of video more often. Most reviewers I'm subscribing to only go for the aesthetic look or the camera. My personal goal of buying a phone is ... not at all in that way (LOL). My concerns always point toward the performance of these emulators and how long can the battery lasts. In the past, I could only search for a Snapdragon 845 vs XXX as rough reference. So yeah, this kind of video will be very very helpful for people who aim toward this topic.
You can get a lot of games working on the Google Pixel 7. I ran into issues with severe slow downs on Resident Evil 4, Conflict Global Storm and Need For Speed games on AetherSX2. For some games, switching to Vulkan from OpenGL helps.
let's gooooo! I've been looking forward to hearing your feedback regarding emulation on a mali based device 🤘 edit: vulkan backend will improve that aethersx2 performance, and be sure to desynchronize gpu threads in dolphin. both should kick up performance by a good 15-20%
looks like I won't need to upgrade from my pixel 6, that's good because I really don't wanna go through the stress of rooting, and rom swapping a brand new phone again.
Come back to this now that I know the Pixel Fold will use the EXACT same GPU with G2 tensor. So the question is worth the upgrade from the pixel 6 pro?
Is anyone else with the phone having major graphical glitches occurring when playing 3ds on Citra MMJ? I have been having one hell of a time with this phone using that emulator.
MKBHD said in his review that the base processor of this pixel 7 are only in the same class as SD 865, equipped with G2 tensor accelerator to enhance its AI processing. So if this SD 865 in the same performance as Pixel 7 in emulation ?
I'd argue that the P7 performs better than the 865 for emulation (except Skyline). I have a SD888 that I can directly compare it to. Maybe a future video?
@@MrSujano If you record that video make sure to check for thermal throttling as the first tensor G1 used a lot of energy at high performance. G1, G2 and SD888 are manufactured by Samsung which is at a disadvantage compared to TSMC. That usually means they are pushed to the limit to make up for performance.
@@MrSujano Please. From what you have seen so far, is it close? I'm switching from a oneplus 9 pro and am curious how much of a hit I'm going to take when it comes to emulation

Great video! The most demanding console I would ever emulate is Nintendo DS Do you think a regular Pixel 7 would handle the DS? Just wanna play Gen 5 Pokémon
I'm not sure chief, I'm reluctant to switching to Mali nowadays. I remember the difference between Mali & Adreno when I tried some emulation games on my phone back then. Sure, my Mali at the time was sucked horribly while the Adreno (SDG 660) is perfectly acceptable to me till this day, so a little bit bias there. I guess I'm an Adreno fanboy huh?
Sonic menia, Celeste, Undertale, stardust vally and terraria all works perfectly fine on my pixel 6 maybe the skyline devs updated it for better Mali support
Is there any alternatives to exagear?? I can no longer play Might & Magic VI the Mandate of Heaven; since I can no longer install exagear rpg Any way I can get this game to play would make me very happy I use game keyboard+ to play this game with Bluetooth controller
Pixel 7 pro is giving me some emulation errors. Specifically graphical glitches where the graphics stretch out and flicker. It's especially noticable on 3DS and some GC games....
I simply cannot take Android seriously as a platform of choice anymore. While it may slightly more "open" than iOS, you have practically no control of where apps are installed. Heck many phones don't even bother including a File Explorer app. Also the mobile phone industry as a whole is a complete greedfest right next to Micro-transaction filled, live service Video Games.
Surprisingly the Pixel 7 / Pixel 7 Pro worked A LOT better than expected, especially with AetherSX2!
How to get the PS1 emulator on my iPhone?
Does it run emulator better than a Snapdragon 732g?

I say we need more processing chip performance to play higher end emulation.
Would be interested to know what the recommended phones for emulation are - preferably from my favourite emulation youtuber!
i would recommend to wait for a Chinese phone that has the snap 8 gen 2, Huge performance bump
S23 Ultra
This is the vid I was waiting for! Definitely excited to get my hands on a 512gb pro! How did the thermals hold up while you were testing these out?
They're fine.

Great phone Mr Emulator ❤️
The pixel 6 series including the budget friendly 6a can run most of this stuff too but it will get warm
How about the pixel 6 please? I’d love to see how it emulates especially Nintendo switch
Will this be the same for the Pixel fold given it has same internals as the Pixel 7 Pro?
Can I play 32-bit games on Pixel 7 pro without unlocking bootloader?

I was able to run DraStic on a 2010 HTC One. So DS should be fine.
