    You never clean out the shocks with water and vegetable oil is not what you use . OMG SMH People are really falling for this.

      What do you use to clean with? And it was a good test to see if vegetable oil worked 😅

      United RC Bros
      I would recommend if needing to clean the shocks completely
      Is to strip them all down completely and clean them with DW40 or CRC sprays then blow it out with a compressor and wipe the single easier to get to parts with a clean cloth
      I can not believe what I just watched lol
      Cleaning the shocks with water and filling the up with vegetable oil hahahahaha
      Please people do not do this it is not the correct way of doing it :)

      It may not be the "correct" way or the right weight but countless hobbyists have used vegetable oil, olive oil, Hell motor oil in a pinch and haven't reported any serious issues. If it comes to waiting 1 to 3 weeks for silicone shock oil to arrive if you don't have a local hobby shop nearby, it will definitely work in a pinch, I've even heard of guys using green tire slime in place of shock oil. As far as a quick fix, a little creativity can at least get you back up and running.

    Id b more embarrassed over how serious i was about driving minature cars around in circles than id be about putting crisco in the shocks of one.

      Not sure what you saying here.... Embarrassed to be in the RC hobby or to put oil in shocks?

      @@UnitedRCBros niether. Poor choice of words on my part. I found ur vid looking for an alternative just like this. The hobbies is to have fun IMO. I wouldnt take it so seriously to knock someone trying whatever may get u back running even if its a little unorthodox. 👍

      Thanks for clearing that up, we know some people are very serious about the hobby when it's all about having fun and trying new things to see if it works 😁

    Can you put WD40 In shock absorbers

    • @UnitedRCBros
      @UnitedRCBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes as it's oil based it's good for cleaning but wouldnt fill em up with it, I mean you could try it and see 👍😁

      short: DON'T
      long: you're a hoot man! there are SO MANY wd40 types for different purposes that you can't even ask this. example: NO WAY you would use wd40 multi-use product because it has a penetrating action which even works it's way inside stuck screws, it will definitely pass through the shock's seals

    That’s not correct. The shock should not push the shaft out without the spring. That is why the boy didn’t have any fluid left in his. Watch some videos of some pros build their shocks, and you’ll see you guys are way off.
