Finding somebody who can speak the language you understand in foreign places is really relieving moment I could really understand that hairdresser feeling
@@Zergonapal She wouldn't feel embarassed at all. Instead surprised or relieved. You wouldn't normally think people on a foreign country would know how to speak your mother tongue.
@@sated652 TBH if I was trying to talk to someone in their native tongue and wasn't very good at it I'd be embarrassed if they turned around and revealed to me that they can speak conversational English very well.
Literally me as a little kid whenever I got separated from my parents while we were on vacation in France and I finally found someone who could speak English - Yes, the vacations to France were a regular thing because I’m Dutch so it’s only a few hours by car - Yes, getting separated from my parents was also a regular thing. I don’t know what possessed them to keep taking me on vacations in the first place
I can already imagine the hairstylist eyes light up with excitement when she heard Ina speak Japanese. Also the fact that she got to touch Inas squishy hair
Ina not letting the hairdresser know she can actually speak/understand japanese just so she doesn't have to talk much during the entire process xD *5Head Strategy lol*
Know the feel. I was talking with Ukrainian software developers at an event once. They were trying to talk to me in english and I was wondering if I should tell them that I speak Russian or not. Back then relationships with Russia weren't anywhere nearly as poor as today, but I still wasn't sure if they'd be offended or something - like "how dare you assume we speak Russian". Turns out my worries were misguided - when they struggled explaining stuff I finally told them that I speak Russian - the whole attitude changed - like suddenly I was their best buddy or something and they chatted away happily.
I just close my eye and pretend i’m asleep. Feels alright to just zone out and listen to scissors. Not a fan of small talk, but its very rare to occur to me. Haircuts for me also like a 3 time a year thing for me. I let my hair grow long and cut it short at the barber shop.
The misunderstood gaijin moments... similar things happen to me quite often post-pandemic. People try to talk to me in English because they thought I'm not a native and look more like Japanese-Chinese-Korean and I would be like "I'm a pure breed and grew up in this country but luckily got that 5% non native appearance DNA trait" when they ask me where did I come from or how long have I've been in the country or such lol
If you're getting your hair like, full on styled and whatnot and not just getting a simple snippy snip, yeah, it can take hours. I have my stylist dye my hair and cut it the way I like, and that takes me two hours sometimes. And I'm a dude with short hair! I can't imagine how long it would take someone with long hair. (In MY case the reason it can take so long is sometimes you gotta bleach your roots, and that takes foreverrrrrr.) Edit: My friend told me I'm terrible at telling time and it usually takes me THREE hours if I'm getting bleached. So yeah, hours is right lmao
A small portion of the people who watch this video will experience a tank, aircraft, or perhaps ship related incident most likely involving a server, a packets, and a hamster.
I'm more surprised that instead of acting like a true introvert would in that situation (acting like they can't speak the other person's language to avoid small talk) she let them know she can speak japanese.
With Japanese being as hard to learn as it is, I personally would jump at every opportunity to speak it if it's a more rare occurrence of the opportunity presenting itself. Not only do you get to flex a little bit in that you know this other language but you get to PRACTICE speaking it with a native speaker which is always good for getting better AND make he person feel good as well because you're speaking with them in their native language which they are obviously more comfortable speaking.
Hahaha I just can't enough when Japanese get spoken back in their language suddenly. Sometimes I be like shy to speak nihongo but can't help but so I see them struggle to communicate cutely 😂 Extra points when they are shocked at how much I understand the language, instead of the standard nihongo jouzu
Reminds me of that vid where a group of Japanese and a White guy go to this Japanese cafe or something. The Waitress was asking the Japanese companions of the white guy to translate for her. In reality, the white guy was the one who can speak Japanese but his Japanese companions are not able to speak Japanese.
ik how it feel! it was so fun talking with someone with the language u learn but never really use it cuz i learn japan just by watching anime im so happy when i finally get to speak to one of them
It's kind of weird how Ina's drawing her self being calm/happy while her hair is caught up in tree branches, which I'm about 87% sure that 99% of girls would 100% not be.
Ina: 'I'm not the type to speak during my haircuts...' Totally agree with her. Personally I would just want my hair done as quickly as possible and leave so I can take care of my other 'worldly' necessities and be back at home. LOL
Be it a Japanese employee or a Japanese customer interacting with an English customer/employee, it's always nice to be the latter that shows that one is fine with speaking Japanese.
I can relate to that hairdresser. A year ago I went to college in America, I took some kind of test and I was giving my ID's and what not for the test to proctor. Turns out the proctor was from the same country as I am and he asked if I was nervous in my language, I responded yes in english and didn't even realize he spoke our language and I had to do neckbreaking headturn to confirm what the fuck I just heard. So yeah, In a foreign country, it's really relieving to just hear someone who speaks your language out of nowhere.
The hairstylist probably get to squeeze Ina’s hair.
I envy her

Every Tako: "it's not fair. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!"
HEY THAT'S...!
Finding out the foreigner you're awkwardly speaking to knows Japanese is like getting a 5* pull.
If this was an old RPG game, there will be a BGM for the hairstylist becoming a friend...
Such a random thought lol I relate

I honestly cannot look at Ina while wearing this costume without expecting her to go *TOMORROW* at any second, lol
Ina and the takodachi community are by far my favorite in hololive. It's just so homey and inviting.

Man Robo and Ojou got tough competition.
Inya is one of my fav but she speed running into the oshi list Real fast.

"Pay attention to the designated grid SQUAHHH !!!"
HOURS?! I can barely stand the 15 minutes or so to cut my hair. I hate being at the barber.
I relate to this so much it's even worse when they try to make small talk like it feels like an hour even tho it's just been 5mins
You don't like freshly cut hair smells?
I love getting my haircut. Very cathartic shedding my shitty hair...Feels like a massage even

Non-euclidean hair takes a while to style.
The *I WAKARU* resonates so hard with me, had a similar feeling first time going to japan
I need more JP Ina in my life, I hope she does a JP-only stream or challenge someday.

Then its time to leave it all behind my guy, as a former warthunder addict. Its not worth the pain
The mighty snail has to be appeased...or u get gaijin'ed ;)
glad i'm not the only one
Now imagine if that hairdresser is actually a takodachi
I expect hair styling is especially difficult with her flaps and hair Squishies.
"I wakaru" is my new favorite sentence
Ina's art is so good

Any sort of dye, curl or treatment can easily add an hour by itself, on top of the actual haircut.
As a guy with long hair: I C config my trips ti the hairdreaser tend to Last anywhrre from 1-3 hours.

When you ask an anime watcher if they can speak Japanese
Chatty barbers/hairdressers, oh no
Also, takodachis thinking of becoming hairdressers to legally touch Ina's squishy hair
Sounds like Ina's hair isn't just long, but all kinds of fancy if it takes hours to do!
"That was a fun trip", coming from the not-couch-potato-at-all Ina, thats a high praise
Well at least Ina won’t be leaving that hair dresser in awkward silences for a couple hours the next time she goes to her 😅
I'm more surprised that instead of acting like a true introvert would in that situation (acting like they can't speak the other person's language to avoid small talk) she let them know she can speak japanese.
I wouldn't have admitted it. lol

I can’t help but say Ina’s conversational Japanese sounds beautiful
Soooo because her hair is damaged and it took so long, Ina probably got her hair professionally dyed.
