      Fair play on passing the test! I have mine at the end of the month. Where did you book the track day training in Mondello, I’m looking to book it too.

      @@Duffman985 Thank you for the kind words Pearse!! Hope you enjoyed the video. I recently made a video on this channel called “Tips for your motorcycle test Ireland” if you haven’t seen it.. it might help you out with the test 😃 I recommend reading all the comments of that video too as I added a few additional pointers there! I booked the track training day under the “track days” section on the Mondello website for 06th March. Just a heads up, they only went up recently but I heard they get booked out so quickly. You might want to book it as soon as possible to get a spot. It’s €165 for the full day 8:30am to 4:30pm I think. Hope I see you there pal and I wish you the best of luck with the test! Let me know how you get on 😃👍🏽

    My SV650 is my baby. I got a DRZ 400 for a first bike and then the SV 2 months later. I hardly ever ride the DRZ anymore since I like the SV so much better. I love it, will probably go 4 cyl after a few years.

    • @Sully_Ireland
      @Sully_Ireland  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bro a DRZ is my dream bike for a while but they’re so hard to come by! What’s it like to ride compared to the SV? I love the R6 and have been getting more and more comfortable riding the 4 cylinder but at first it felt like a big step up for me. The R6 has nothing low down but over 6-8k it just pulls like a train haha! Appreciate the comment and I’ve recently pulled my back out and currently on the mend so hopefully more videos soon!

      @@Sully_Ireland Well mine is the S, so it's the offroad model. It is fine for around town if you can get used to the low power, at least compared to the SV. Not very good on the highway, main reason I got the SV. It can do it, but it's screaming RPM since there is no 6th gear. It's lighter, and sits a lot higher, but I am fairly tall so no problem there. It is great offroad, which is kind of the only thing I use it for now.

    Hi mate. An A category bike where the A cat licence is concerned is any bike over 35kw regardless of CC. But for an RSA road test the A category bike must be motorcycle without a sidecar, with a cylinder capacity of at least 595cm3, an unladen mass of more than 175kg., and an engine power of at least 50kw.
    So test spec and actual A category bike are different.
    Hope this helps. Eric.

I saw that you can do the training day on a learners permit too bro, I was asking around and a few people told me it’s really useful stuff they teach about breaking and it’s very well taught track advice and still a really good day out at Mondello. Thought I’d start from the very beginning too if you get me! I'm in the same boat kind of. Had the bike for 2 years, put almost 10k miles on it, been round euro, over the alps down to lake como, back up and round the Nurburgring. It's a fine bike. Never missed a beat, just got it serviced on schedule. Lots of fun, stable, plently of power, easy to ride. Sounds good too with an aftermarket can. It feels, and always has just a little too small for me (6' and 13 stone). Maybe I got used to the Bandit 600. Anyway, I'll be looking to change in the next month or two. Maybe a Striple 765 or if I can stretch to it the updated XSR900. Need to have a ride on 'em to sort it out. It's a bit of a sleeper really, you can wring it out without going insane speeds and it's quick up to about 80-90. Topped out at an indicated ~132mph on the autobahn going from Austria to the 'ring, slight downhil with the wind behind me, probably ~125mph true speed. Good luck.

      I am a fellow 6’ and 13 stone. Never found it an issue personally but maybe because it was my learner bike and keeping it longer would have changed my opinion there. Bro you sound like you had a blast on that trip! I’m so jealous and could only dream of doing something like that in a few years! I was looking into a few bikes Yamaha Tenere 700, BMW F850GS Vstrom look deadly. I’m not sure what had me on the adventure buzz but might be something to look at down the road👀 definitely if I was doing travelling! I have my R6 in for repairs and planning to do my first track day in Mondello track in March 😃 trying to get a variety of riding experience before any travel plans!

    First and current bike is a K6 SV650S, I love it, balances the sport bike and commuter bike for me, has rearsets but slightly rearsets and the clip ons are raised so makes it more comfortable to daily. Also since its "not a sport bike" insurance companies will actually quote me, they wont quote me on a cbr250 but they'll happily quote me on an SV.

      @Sully_Ireland  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The SV650S is a lovely bike! I don’t think I’d have sold it if I had one 🤣 my insurance is a killer on the R6 🫠 I wanted an R7 and the insurance said “I’d kill my self on one of them” and insured me on a faster R6 😂😂 this country is backwards!!

      @driftmaniac3487 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Literally makes no sense insurance in this country, same with cars, 2 years no claims on my car and im still getting quoted 1.3 to 1.5k, I paid 1.2k with 1 years no claims, ridiculous. Dont think im ever going to sell the 650S, too attached to it. 😊 @@Sully_Ireland

    It's sad to see a newbie letting the SV650 go. He will miss it soon. I got my first motorcycle in 1978 and have rode several since. I just bought a SV650. I'ts probably the best bike an experienced biker can get today. And he think he can advice new riders?? That's TH-cam for you. Sorry, I need to puke.

    • @Sully_Ireland
      @Sully_Ireland  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you on this, the SV650 is a great all rounder bike whether you’re a new rider or seasoned vet! I miss mine after selling it… unfortunately sold it because I had two bikes and needed the money for family. In the video I’m talking about my own preferences and tastes which will never appeal to everyone. It’s what makes us all different. My first bike was a Yamaha R3 and I loved every minute of it. We had a baby girl and I needed to sell it for money at the time. Man I’d have kept that bike forever… it was a blast! I bought the SV to pass my category A licence here in Ireland (unfortunately if I bought another R3 it wouldn’t meet the conditions of my licence for the test). Passed my test in January and wanted another sports bike. I’m sure I’ll own plenty more bikes and meet plenty of cool people along the way. What was your first bike?

    • @Sully_Ireland
      @Sully_Ireland  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also note towards the end of the video it sounds like I said “I couldn’t see it being someone’s forever bike”… I would like to add that I meant to say “I could see it being someone’s forever bike” it was one of my first ever talking videos so I was a bit nervous and tried to do it in one take…hope that clears it up!
