@@JitLocks it’s a bit confusing but pretty much , even though it was his imagination that created the body, the body was real living flesh, because the things he imagined become real basically.
The downfall of Gremmy was his own mentality. He imagined kempachi as the strongest person he's ever seen and couldn't imagine himself not dying. We can also see how Kenny uses his words to influence the way Gremmy thinks (when he insist thwre is nothing he can't cut and Gremmy just accepts that as true and trapped him in outer space but since Gremmy already agreed that there is nothing Kenny can't cut Kenny cuts through outtwr space too.

The light novels back it up being actual space too lol. Kubo also draws these little sketches at the end of chapters to explain what's going on and he shows Gremmy imagining the stars and a whole galaxy😭😭.

Gerard can revert Hax and is nearly like the Hulk.
Lille can 1 shot small countries in BASE and has an instantaneous attack(you could be faster than light and beyond but STILL couldn't dodge something instantaneous).
If Gremmy wasn't trapped & caged he would've had more room to imagine and DEF be #1 Quincy... But he was stuck as a child and never grew past that part of thinking(reason why he was so easily enticed by battling Kenpachi).
Remember tho... The Brain is the real V-The Visionary. Imagine if someone like Mayuri was to attain it 👀. Nah we good 💀.

its drink because Nozarashi translated is "weather beaten" so its like telling someone working out on a farm to drink its also why his skin a certain colour. Kenpachi reminds me of Kikuchiyo from seven samurai
It’s drink because his sword spills blood. Think about it. His love for combat makes him bloodthirsty.
For those who thinks why Gremmy just didn't make Kenpachi's bones cookies like Yachiru or imagine him dying like explode his brain, heart, etc is because of Reiatsu difference. Remember when Soi Fon use her shikai on Aizen it didn't work because having advantage on Reiatsu ignores abilities. You can also see that only Gremmy did was to imagine things around Kenpachi not on his body directly (lava, water, being on space, etc.). You can also put this on Gremmy's perspective that he wants to flex his power and not being creative enough because he has no battle experience due to being locked up by Yhwach.
You can also argue why Gremmy didn't just imagine himself having greater Reiatsu than Kenpachi. As I said, he has no battle experience and his abilities is limited on his own imagination. If this ability was given to Aizen or Urahara, the verse is done.
Gremmy reiatsu isn't important since he was a part of the soul king (the brain)(stated in novel CFYOW with Hikone) he clearly just wanted to have fun while fighting with Kenny coz he doesn't have any experience like u said. (still sad we learn in CFYOW he wanted to make food with a taste even him couldn't imagine for stern G ) ;(
gremmy can multiply his power by creating clones so that's just false...he didn't do the things you said because kenpachi made him want to fight.

@@drakenilsford5683 is it really confirmed that he is the brain of soul king? Because I find it weird since Gerard, Pernida and Mimihagi was mentioned to be part of Soul king in the manga. If Kubo intended that Gremmy is the brain of Soul King, he should have included this crucial information in the manga.

Just to be clear.. a flaming meteor is FAR more destructive than a falling boulder pulled from orbit like what Madara did...both are still dope though

Think about it like this, a baseball is sturdy & pretty hard(pause). Drop it on a mirror and nothing will happen(PE).
Now if you throw it full force at the mirror you'll shatter it(KE).
That's KE(Kinetic Energy=Energy in motion) Vs PE(Potential Energy=Energy an object already has).
Just dropping a solid object won't cause much damage but throwing it/putting force behind it will increase it greatly.
His meteors lacked KE... Literally had 0.
You also have to take the size into account. Gremmy's single meteor was comparable in size to the entirety of the Seireitei. In comparison, Madara would have had to summon dozens of meteors to have the same overall size. If a Meteor of that same size would crash into Earth, the planet would be destroyed. It's larger than the asteroid that killed the Dinosaurs.

It was actually be left out in the anime, but in the manga it was mentioned that Gremmy lived his life in confinement, Ywach put him a room due to his power, and he was only allowed to leave to the room as a military power to go against the threat of Kenpachi,sadly his only time outside his confinement is his last moment

In case you are wondering what his zanpakuto is capable of, what does he do etc. Kenpachi even says it himself:
He can cut through EVERYTHING.
His sword was always blunt and will be. He IS THE EDGE of his sword. HE cuts things, not his blade.
And let me repeat: THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN’T CUT THROUGH.
To explain Yachiru, he was actively imagining "your bones are cookies" so when he stopped it stopped. Her bones were still broken.
For Gremmy, don't forget he's still a Quincy, he's not magic. He still follow reaishi rules.
Last episode we got Inosuke's voice actor for As Nodt...This one we got both the voice actor of Foxy the Silver Fox and Tanjiro for Sternritter V...They really are getting all the top tier voice actor of shonen anime in Bleach right now and it's amazing !!!

[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Yachiru's ability is quite strong, It strikes before she attacks, when she attacks and after she attacks. Also as Isane noted no Shinigami has a Shikai that doesn't change form once released.
- In regards to Gremmy killing the Captains, we saw 1st hand the the affects of his imagination can be reverted if he's not focused so it's possible that those captains deaths are not permanent.
- The anime cuts the reaction of both Shinigami and Quincy when Gremmy used the Meteor.
- Many fans claim that Gremmy is idiotic, however he's more so sheltered, this is why he began to feel ecstatic by fighting for the 1st time. The idea is that despite being able to imagine nearly anything he's likely experienced very little in life from actions to even feelings.
- The scene with Kenpachi calling out his swords name mixed with the Flashback of Yachiru not having a name is a huge in your face hint here which some people somehow miss.
- In regards to Gremmy's power of imagination many fans fail to understand that it has many drawbacks. The 1st being that what one can imagine is based on experience and Gremmy has lived a very confined life because it's alluded to in the manga that he's kept locked away somewhere. The 2nd is that as we saw a person's imagination can do it's own thing, so if you have unvoluntarry negative thoughts they will affect you like how gremmy began to lose. 3rd is that it's limited to the speed of his thoughts. Lastly it's not limitless as some claim, if he can just make anything a reality Yhwach would have told him to imagine that every soul reaper was dead, but clearly that's not the case.

Kenpachi always was my favorite character in Bleach since I started it. If you search him on the dictionary you just find Kenpachi from Zaraki. What was revealed in this episode are things I was hoping and waiting for years to see come to life. It was cool to see Yachiru in action and since day one I’ve said it, Kenpachi Zaraki is the GOAT! The fight itself and being able to see the panels animated was beyond tremendous. The visuals of him cutting the meteor and transitioning into his younger self was beautiful. He finally called out Nozarashi’s name and we were finally able to see that glorious Shikai! What a beast and he hasn’t even taken the eyepatch off. I just want to see Kenpachi destroy everyone 🤘🏽 I cannot wait to see what’s coming.

And got pissed that season 3 of DS was a build up point. I still think DS will prove why its popular as the show came out when the arc were going into for season 4 was going on...hence people had the plot twist and could see things anime only don't. Gremmy’s power is quite literally a double edge sword. Yeah you can imagine anything into existence but you could run the risk of imagining such power that your physical body can’t handle it like what killed him. Regardless though, it was game over as soon as Zaraki showed up. Keep in mind he still had his eyepatch on too.
This could have been an even better episode. In the manga it was shown everybody even the quinces like Bazz B, Jugram freaked out on seeing the meteor. The impact of Gremmy was far more in the manga. The anime cut some scenes to adapt more chapters in the episode. In fact ,it was shown in the manga that Gremmy was kept locked up for most of his life due to his crazy power.
Honestly i'm glad that they cutted Jugram's scene cuz that's doesn't make sense at all like he asked randoms to protect Yhwach like they can do shit. However they should have keep the others reactions

The flashback gives a little insight into Yachiru. When Kenpachi says "Where did you come from, kid?" she touches his sword. Yachiru is a physical manifestation of the power of that sword, and so much power that the physical manifestation was able to acquire shinigami powers of its own. So yes, she's both his lieutenant and his sword. She serves almost like a spirit guide for Kenpachi, and since he's now able to draw on the power of his sword, Yachiru is no longer needed, and returns to where she came from. His sword. "I Am The Edge." She is the edge.

Watching this episode again here made me realize how the ridiculousness of the stuff Grammy conjured up made sense. He was a kid, is what it is. Guns, missiles, iron-man like energy explosions and world destroying meteorites. Being a kid he also lacked experience and yet had all of the arrogance. Making him 100% dependent on his imagination without barely ever moving his hands; any well adjusted adult knows that great ideas require action. Zaraki is pure action. And Grammy was a disembodied brain. But at least our boy Kenpachi is a grown man, thus giving him the edge(pun not intended)

In the manga the other soul reapers realized it was “Kenpachi” by seeing him, and they were wondering why they couldn’t detect his Reiatsu. Which is telling us that’s how much stronger he became. So powerful that he may very well have transcended to another dimension like “Ichigo” and “Aizen” did before. Wonder why they didn’t include that here in the anime though
Fun fact when germmy used the vacuum of space on kenpachi he didn’t Open a portal to space he created his on space you can see galaxies and star in it that means Kanpachi defeated a galaxy or multi galaxy level threat
FunFact: Retsu Unohana (formerly known as Yachiru Unohana(Real Name) before she became the captain of squad 4. Zaraki named Yachiru Kusajishi in the memory of the only person he admired so much which is Unohana.
While fighting gerard, nozarashi appears in front of zaraki manifesting the Physical appearance of her lieutenant yachiru kusajishi. Kubo also said that yachiru kusajishi is the bankai manifestation of nozarashi but the true spirit resembles an adult woman.
Just think of ichigo's bankai, it's like that. They have the same relationship, the difference between them is, ichigo can hear tensa while zaraki can't hear nozarashi (because he subconsciously blocks nozarashi).
