Logged in after the servers came up, played one match and saw that's how Legend works, immediately switched to all my Master-rank characters and took one Legend screenshot for each. Can confirm!

Hopefully you will keep the Legend rank for Phase 2 if you finish top 500. Wish Capcom had been more clear, but it is a nice addition in watching replays/matches as the Phase goes on. No need to go look up that rank an MR is at that point in time, you can just see at a glance where they fall in the rankings at that time.
I think you just get a title if you finish the phase in Legend, but no permanent Legend rank. This is actually good: it should reduce the number of pro players gatekeeping by trying to fill up the top 500 with all their side characters.
Wait, i could be wrong but I think that at the end of the phase, if you're in the top 500, you get a special title. So it's pretty much like a 3 month grind fest...or you just play near the end of the phase i suppose.
the way legend rank actually works is so stupid. there was already a ladder to see who had the highest MR. the only practical change is that now instead of being like "oh this guy's MR is so high he must be like top 50" you look at their rank and go "oh he's top 50"

The dumbest most pointless update ever. 99.9% of their players wont see Legend because they work real jobs and dont have 24 hours a day to play a game. 😂 SF devs suck up to the pro community so much that its truly embarrassing.
Sf6 is the worst street fighter ever people mashing jab spamming dr or di lame game the skill has been degraded in this game parry needs to be nerfed or removed

Getting 2K MR in the first season where MR was implemented is still pretty godlike, with or without the funny legend icon.

I get all my AKI tech from you, Broski. I never do command grab when they are in burnout but that is really smart
