This is literally the best travel outfit video out there. Everything makes sense! And super in depth for fellow anxiety sufferers 💁🏽♀️ thank you!! Gonna watch it 53 times now...
Emma at the airport : comfy yet stylish. Me at the airport : wearing everything that is too big and chunky to fit in my luggage, aka I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy.
“It’s gonna be massive, cotton Granny pants”! I love this so much because altho’ I’m 70 now, I figured this out back in my 20’s! Your video is so informative and entertaining.
Thank you for your video and recommendations. They were both practical and classy! I am so tired of seeing people out in public looking like they just got out of bed or where you can see what should be private. Thank you again.
When I lived in the US, I would constantly go back to Brazil which was a 12 hour flight. My uniform was a pair of very stretchy black skinny jeans, cashmere socks, sneakers, a black cashmere sweater, a black t-shirt, my black leather jacket, black sunglasses and my Saint Laurent backpack. Most comfortable airport ensemble ever! :)
On point Emma. I used to travel a lot with work and it used to make me laugh when i would see people get on the plane looking like they were going to Ascot!! Comfort is key. I actually have a set plane outfit - cotton vest top (thermal), long cotton top, cotton leggings or my fave seetty bettys but one size up and a thin jumper or huge scarf (cos planes can sometimes get chilly). Also, random tip, but having just come back from a 20hr+ flight, i know i get 'numb bum'...so i may look weird but i use my neck pillow as a cushion - trust me, it helps :)
Loved this video! For someone who goes on one overseas holiday a year (I live in Australia so it’s always a long haul flight) I have an absolute obsession with carry on/travel videos. I have watched the one you did years ago multiple times and is actually how I originally found the Emma Hill channel. My go to flight outfit is cotton harem/joggers pants, a basic tee and a scarf so I can use it as a pillow or if I get cool. Would love to see a video of what you take on a carry on or what you pack for a weekend away! Xx
🙋🏻♀️ overthinker here! “what if i’m wearing sandals and someone vomits on my foot?! better wear sneakers!”. that happened to a friend of mine, and it changed my whole airplane look since. also, i interned at United Airlines and, we couldn’t wear open toe shoes. since then, i can’t get that rule out of my head either. so sneakers (or booties in winter) it is!
Never ever worn sweatpants to the airport. Mainly because I grew up with a mum and dad who's quite conservative and therefore told me to always dress upp when traveling. However I'm all about the comfort now that I've grown up. I usually travel in stretchy jeans (the kind that you could do yoga in) but I must admit I have been checking out all the pinterest and instagram travel outfits where they look absolutely incredible in a pari of sweatpants and a cropped hoodie. Will for sure try it! ALSO: GRANNY PANTS FOR THE WIN!
Hello. All your thoughts and style tips are absolutely right! It is important to travel comfort but also in style. Another lovely video from you darling. Thank you once more. :)
You’re the only one who can make travel tips hilarious 🤣 Thank you! Question: best suitcase? Cabin and big? Or maybe a video on your preferences, for all budgets. I need a new big one, and I’m lost, too much (crappy?) choice 😎😘
That was so much fun! You and I think alike, I also take spare clothes everywhere! Underwear t-shirts, bottoms and socks, for me, my twins and husband. Last time we travelled the airline send 2 of our bags to a different airport. But thanks to moi everyone had clean clothes to change to until they arrived the next day! I'm awesome I know.... 😊😊
One of my favourite pieces to wear on flight are my yoga pants. They have a nice wide flat waistband similar to pregnancy pants and have a wider leg than leggings so more flattering. I would NEVER wear white🤣🤣 I would also wear patterned tops as spills are likely eating in cramped spaces and spills don’t show up so easily. I wouldn’t wear jackets but would layer, especially if you are travelling to different hemispheres. It’s good to strip down to singlets when you arrive somewhere warm.
Watching this video I was thinking Good clothing choices for my anxiety on The planes and Then you mention yours:) I never had anxiety in my 20ties, I used to Love flying. Now I get really stressed even if my feet get too hot in my shoes on my plane.🙈 Good advice for anxiety sufferers. Think about everything, even about comfy pants :)) funny but true and very helpful
I have joggers in stretchy Jean material with multiple shaded pattern so they barely show durt. And they don’t have that stupid zipper but a string and elastic around the waist instead so you can decide how tight they are around your hips/stomach. They are nice and relaxing and I removed the elastic part from where they are by the ankles so they look more like normal jeans so I still feel good and look good and they got great big pockets also, which I love!
This was so useful! And I like the idea of having designated travel sweatpants. I need to invest in maybe a nice pair of cashmere pants for travel actually 😍
This must be the best travel style tips video I've seen, thanks so much Emma for the valuable advice. I will take on board every single thing you said x
Subscriber from Canada here ... was just going to head to bed when the “Emma video” notification popped up .... “yay” ... great way to end the evening .... and always an informative topic
I laughed out loud when you started talking about shoes. I know I have had those exact thoughts before flying, especially the flip flops stuck in escalators. Loved this video.
Awesome video again! As someone who flies 13 hrs flights 4 to 6 times a year, I can verify that sweatpants + granny panties + t-shirt + sneakers combo is a must! I even size up my sweatpants so they would fit looser! I'll definitely try a blazer next time though! Also, if you have any tips on how to keep your hair non-greasy during flight, please do share!
Hi from Canada! You are spot on with these travelling tips! I personally am a cotton leggings and Under garment wearer , especially when traveling on a long haul flight. Love your videos as always🤗
Thank you Emma 🥰Grannypants on my list 🙈Wish I could find a nice oversized blazer here in Norway. But hey, soon I’m going to London again . Can’t wait 😃👍Have a lovely Day 🌞🌼🌻💐🌸
I never wore blue jeans - except in college and on my camping honeymoon in 1976. Meanwhile I actually recently found: 1) blue jean leggings [aka jeggings] blended with spandex and 5 pockets - because I broke down and decided to look like everybody else [more conventional] - and they are even more comfy than my cotton blend leggings! 2) I found rayon blend joggers/sweatpants with deep pockets. They are so soft and light - it's like wearing nothing - but I'm covered up! ANd neither bottom wrinkles...PS I wear Plus Size 2X-3X... tfs
Excellent video. For my long haul flights of 20 hours + my full compression jetskins are insurance against dvt😳. Compression socks work well too😊. Jackets are key to making your look more formal for customs. If you are arriving in a more conservative country I’s swap out the trousers for a midi dress or fuller trousers to be more culturally sensitive😊.
Definitely granny panties, my Nike, sweat pants from Roots (Canada), compression stockings (sexy I know) and sorry panty liners (and extras) to help feel fresh. I wear this on any flight even on short haul flights from Toronto to Orlando.
I'm with you on the compression stockings! I put them on before takeoff and take them off when we land so no one really sees them but me but the save me from getting puffy ankles!
panty liners are ESSENTIAL just in case. My favorite life hack is to take some with me when i go clubbing, you have no idea how handy they are as TP or if you end up sleeping over somewhere and don’t have a change of clothes
You dont know how much you helped me Emma with this video to make my work trips at least comfortable also even to run errands like a lunatic mum that is trying to still look good 😁 Thanks and keep up the good work. All your videos are so so worth watching.
Emma, as an alternative for trainers I always wear espadrilles made of leather whilst traveling in the summer. No socks needed, comfortable and stylish. And again, brilliant video! Greetings from the Netherlands. Xx
Thank you, Emma! I'm flying long haul in August/September and will definitely take your great tips on board! (no pun intended lol). I will definitely be wearing a blazer now, ya never know, it may help with the coveted upgrade! 😜👍 You both have a beautiful weekend xx 🛫🏖🛬 (the Mr T comment killed me lol)
If u like denim i would suggest jeggings. The right pair are so stretchy and comfortable and they give a more elevated look than sweatpants. For jacket i prefer a bomber jacket because planes get so cold.
Have to put down my fur baby Jill. She is my 14 year old yellow lab. My heart is breaking into a million pieces. I am taking a flight the day or so after... going to visit friends because I do not think I can handle being at home. I was wondering what I should wear on the flight and you certainly answered that for me. Hugs to you, Simon and your fur babies. xo
SUPER HELPFUL!! thank you. I'm about to travel and I'm going to take all your suggestions. I really appreciate how clearly you communicate things. I'm a teacher, so know about that and you do it very well! p.s. I totally have travel anxiety too and having any and all tips and tools really makes a difference. here's one from me - I have found that it REALLY HELPS to travel with a stuffed animal! I have cats not dogs so I can't have them on the plane and my mom gave me a small "travel cat" and I don't even care - I take it out and put it in my lap at this point. Who cares what people think? I brought it to the dentist for some scary dental work too and it really helped!
Like you I am a denim lover, but I love to wear a maxi dress with a denim jacket and pair of trainers on the plane, depending on the destination, I carry a pair of sandals in my carry on, and I am all set when I land to switch out and go.
I cannot recommend the Lululemon On the Fly pant enough! They're as comfortable as a sweatpant or legging but look like a trouser, don't crease and look going out for dinner buy you could also wear them on a hike. So versatile, so comfy, the best pants I own!
@@lanasa265 I have a few pairs and each one feels slightly different from the rest. I do prefer my older ones as the material feels a touch thicker but I would say they feel/look like a really high-quality sweatpant in terms of the weave of the fabric but slippy - not cottony. The inside is not fleecy like sweats but also slippy. It's a nylon/elastane mix.
I love wearing compression workout leggings on the plane lol...the only way I can stretch and keep my legs ready for running for the customs, but I keep a change of clothes in my carryon and I change after the customs.
Just purchased a lounging set from mango and I'm saving it for my European trip next year. It looks exactly like those cream pants that you put on screen. Definitely wearing my trainers AND my granny panties! If I get strip-searched going through security, hopefully the security officers will have a good laugh and wave me on through 🤣🤣🤣🤣😍❣️
You even manage to make sweat pants look good! I learnt my lesson with wearing white trousers on a plane: some tea got spilled on the front at the airport, and though I tried to clean it off, I was left with a massive browny coloured stain which did not look good!!
Another great video! I had a very unfortunate incident where a child spilt orange juice on the floor a millisecond before I stepped in it and yes I was shoeless going through security. Needless to say since then, I ALWAYS travel with a spare pair of socks 🙈
Definitely no thongs for me, M&S cotton knickers all the way. I like the shorts-style ones so there is no VPL. For travelling my favourite travelling trousers are White Stuff gorse cargo trousers - they're 100% cotton with an elasticated tie waist and loose legs. Very comfortable and they don't seem to crease much or not enough for me to care, lol. Agree with you about trainers.
This has been a super helpful vid, not traveling atm for obvious reasons. But, I'm in the uk but my partner lives in Canada and I made the mistake of wearing jeans... will deffos be putting all your tips to good use!
Thank you for this. Only thing I usually do a bit differently is the shoe part. I always bring some thick swollen socks with me and as soon as the airplane departs in a long haul flight I take off my shoes and put in my extra socks, so they ar emit confined in the plastic and polyester and can breath :)
I found baby/toddler blanket is a great travel essential that i pack every time i travel/fly coz honestly can you trust those airline blankets? Anyway great video
The only part I think helps with style is the blazer tip and the fact Emma is tall and has nice figures. If I wore T-shirt-hoodie -sweatpants-trainers as an outfit, I would look drowned in casual clothing like I am a uni student just rolled out of my bed. I need to look a bit more smart and business and sounds like adding a blazer could be a game changer, I will try that next time
I loved this video and the humour cracked me up. Helpful - I have watched a LOT of travel videos lately and this is the first that mentioned the unmentionables. But I wish someone would do a video on how to look polished if you have a less than amazing figure. I would just look like a tired mum in sweatpants...... so unlike the chic and slim lady we see in this video..... 😍🤣😁
This is literally the best travel outfit video out there. Everything makes sense! And super in depth for fellow anxiety sufferers 💁🏽♀️ thank you!! Gonna watch it 53 times now...
Indeed!
Emma at the airport : comfy yet stylish.
Me at the airport : wearing everything that is too big and chunky to fit in my luggage, aka I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy.

I’m a poet and didn’t know-et 🤣
“It’s gonna be massive, cotton Granny pants”! I love this so much because altho’ I’m 70 now, I figured this out back in my 20’s! Your video is so informative and entertaining.

Great tip, thank you I had never really thought about that - I also suffer with numb bum on longer flights 🤣
I loved your honesty and how useful this video was compared to other "travel tips" videos!
Thank you ❤️
Just rewatched this before some travelling tomorrow. Legit raised my hand when you asked who’s an anxiety sufferer 🙋🏻♀️ trainers it is!
Rewatching your old videos, they're always great to watch! Always classic ideas.🥰
Loved this video! For someone who goes on one overseas holiday a year (I live in Australia so it’s always a long haul flight) I have an absolute obsession with carry on/travel videos. Exactly!!! You look fantastic
I wish I could look as good as you in leggings

You’re the only one who can make travel tips hilarious 🤣 Thank you!
Question: best suitcase? Cabin and big? Or maybe a video on your preferences, for all budgets. I need a new big one, and I’m lost, too much (crappy?) choice 😎😘
The one in the thumbnail is from Antler, and is what I always use. 👍
Emma Hill Thank you Emma, I saw it but had no idea who they were. They ship internationally, so great! ☺️
I travel in a knit blazer, just as comfortable as a cardigan, but more polished and gives some visual shape.
Oh no, how annoying. But great that you were prepared. 👍
This is the best travel video - you’ve really thought of everything!
I laughed so much at the panties talk. I love my granny panties!!!
🤣❤️
Dn’t we all!
This video had me in literally lol. Emma you are a gem! Love your humor and your sensible style❤️

"Thongs" not "tounges" : )
This must be the best travel style tips video I've seen, thanks so much Emma for the valuable advice. I will take on board every single thing you said x
Thank you ❤️
That was a great great video! Not just for the tips and tricks but OMG I had the greatest best laugh ever!!!!
hi emma im watching this on a sunday morning eating breakfast AHAAHAHHAHA love u thanks for sharing this vid
Subscriber from Canada here ... was just going to head to bed when the “Emma video” notification popped up .... “yay” ... great way to end the evening .... and always an informative topic
Katharine Leeder I always stay up late on Saturday for her Sunday morning upload, lucky it’s only 5 hours ahead from Toronto
❤️
I laughed out loud when you started talking about shoes. I know I have had those exact thoughts before flying, especially the flip flops stuck in escalators. Loved this video.
leggins are very vulgar,😂
Love the grey brazen and sweat pants look
Great ideas!! ! I agree that moto jacket def last choice! The weight, the possibility of theft-- only with an entourage 😉
Great video and ideas Emma! Thank you for sharing! 😍🤗✈️
Sweatpants are soooo comfy! Loved the video!

Vanlifers swear by dry shampoo in between showers. Alternatively bar shampoos are small, solid and easy to slip into carryon.
Emma the poet and wordsmith 😂 Comfort is everything and I also definitely go for cotton, too. ❤️
Me too with the spare pair in a little ziplock bag in my bag. You can get sweatpants with no cuffs. Look better and more comfortable.
Hi from Canada! You are spot on with these travelling tips! I personally am a cotton leggings and Under garment wearer , especially when traveling on a long haul flight. Love your videos as always🤗

Such a useful video, just what I needed thank you Emma xx
Hilarious and so accurate! An oldie but a goodie. Thanks Emma. Think of me with my 24hr flight ✈️ coming up 😂
Good luck, it will be worth it when you arrive 👍
I'm heading abroad for 32 days and am planning to bring a capsule wardrobe.. your video was so helpful.. thanks Emma.. hugs from australia
How amazing, I hope you have a great trip ❤️
Just so happens I fall on this video in my feed as I pack to travel 😁❤
You know that bit!!!! Lol love you Emma.
Granny pants for me always. 🤗🐕🐶
You’re my favourite style youtuber! xx
Thank you ❤️

Yes to the sweats from Roots, I’m with u 100% on that. Nice looking and comfy!
Panty liners!
panty liners are ESSENTIAL just in case. My favorite life hack is to take some with me when i go clubbing, you have no idea how handy they are as TP or if you end up sleeping over somewhere and don’t have a change of clothes
Pantyliners are essential for sure
Well done! You mentioned comfortable earrings!!! 👍 Stud earrings are the worst when trying to rest on a flight. 😊
This is really helpful, thanks Emma!
Thanks ❤️ Emma for your help!! Love you.
You dont know how much you helped me Emma with this video to make my work trips at least comfortable also even to run errands like a lunatic mum that is trying to still look good 😁 Thanks and keep up the good work. All your videos are so so worth watching.
Thank you Im glad you found it useful ❤️
Hello! You presented super travel outfits. Thanks.
I am on the same page with the thinking of all situations. especially the foot wear. Thank you for your thoughts.
Actually, comfort and safety are paramount when traveling 😊
Great travel style video ❤️ love ur style
Emma, as an alternative for trainers I always wear espadrilles made of leather whilst traveling in the summer. No socks needed, comfortable and stylish. And again, brilliant video! Greetings from the Netherlands. Xx
Thank you, Emma! I'm flying long haul in August/September and will definitely take your great tips on board! (no pun intended lol). I will definitely be wearing a blazer now, ya never know, it may help with the coveted upgrade! 😜👍 You both have a beautiful weekend xx 🛫🏖🛬 (the Mr T comment killed me lol)
Going to London on Monday. This is perfect timing!
Oh I hope you have a great time, the weather is going to be amazing 🤞 so just make sure you have some water if using the underground 👍
Emma Hill thank you Emma! ❤️
If u like denim i would suggest jeggings. The right pair are so stretchy and comfortable and they give a more elevated look than sweatpants. For jacket i prefer a bomber jacket because planes get so cold.
Jeggings aren't for me I'm afraid 🙈
Have to put down my fur baby Jill. She is my 14 year old yellow lab. My heart is breaking into a million pieces. I am taking a flight the day or so after... going to visit friends because I do not think I can handle being at home. I was wondering what I should wear on the flight and you certainly answered that for me. Hugs to you, Simon and your fur babies. xo
Aww I feel so sad for you. That must be awful, hugs to you both 🤗
Sorry to hear that Judy, we all send our love to you and Jill ❤️❤️❤️
❤️
Brilliant video!! Some great tips thanks Emma. Now I just need to book a holiday x
Thank you I have watched this x2 for my trip to Cyprus. Not looking forward to the 20 hour flight from Australia!
Wow that is a long flight but it will be worth it, Cyprus is beautiful. Hope you enjoy it 👍🏼
Your sense of humor 🤭👍🏽
Appreciate the tips!
Like you I am a denim lover, but I love to wear a maxi dress with a denim jacket and pair of trainers on the plane, depending on the destination, I carry a pair of sandals in my carry on, and I am all set when I land to switch out and go.
I’m with you Emma comfort is 🔑 when travelling nothing worse then stuck on a plane and being sweaty Betty 🥵
I cannot recommend the Lululemon On the Fly pant enough! They're as comfortable as a sweatpant or legging but look like a trouser, don't crease and look going out for dinner buy you could also wear them on a hike. So versatile, so comfy, the best pants I own!
I was actually looking into those pants recently for traveling. What does the material feel like?
Ill check them out 👍
@@lanasa265 I have a few pairs and each one feels slightly different from the rest.
What a genius you are! Thanks, perfect timing.
Very useful video! Best footwear for travel: trainers 👟 and Crocs 🐊😊
Im not a fan of crocs Im afraid 🙈
Excellent video ! Thanks for the tips ! Love your style Emma and your so funny too 😘😘
Just purchased a lounging set from mango and I'm saving it for my European trip next year. It looks exactly like those cream pants that you put on screen. Definitely wearing my trainers AND my granny panties! If I get strip-searched going through security, hopefully the security officers will have a good laugh and wave me on through 🤣🤣🤣🤣😍❣️
🤣🙈🙊❤️
I love that you start with underwear. NO ONE else talks about what underwear to wear. Thank you.
You even manage to make sweat pants look good! I learnt my lesson with wearing white trousers on a plane: some tea got spilled on the front at the airport, and though I tried to clean it off, I was left with a massive browny coloured stain which did not look good!!
Ellie Roberts me too, stay away from light colours!
Fantastic advice, thanks so much
Another great video! I had a very unfortunate incident where a child spilt orange juice on the floor a millisecond before I stepped in it and yes I was shoeless going through security. Needless to say since then, I ALWAYS travel with a spare pair of socks 🙈
OH NO!! 🙈 But great tip because sometimes security ask you to take off your shoes too, so better to be prepared just in case 👍
You crack me up! lol
Ive never seen anyone carry off sweats as chic as you!
😂😂😂😂you crack me up! Gusset is such a horrible word😂
We did laugh!!! Your video cheered me up😂
Thanks a lot for the tips, I agree with you comfy is the most important😊 Omg you really are so funny I adore you ^^
As a chestier lady, I find going wireless if possible is really helpful!
Great video! Amazing tips Xxx
granny panties for the win 😂😂😂 that absolutely made my day
🏆🤣
You had me up to the lace up trainers - because of security, I always opt for pull on trainers.
You’re hilarious Emma! I love the no show bikinis from SOMA. I don’t know if they have those in the UK but they are super comfy and are NO SHOW! YAY!
This has been a super helpful vid, not traveling atm for obvious reasons. But, I'm in the uk but my partner lives in Canada and I made the mistake of wearing jeans... will deffos be putting all your tips to good use!
You give the best advices!! 😊
A very helpful video!! Thanks Emma!
This is such a good video, with really good tips!
I need to look a bit more smart and business and sounds like adding a blazer could be a game changer, I will try that next time
Waiting for you to come to Orlando again Emma. Disney is waiting for you!!
Amazing video!! Thank you for sharing it ✈️
I loved this video and the humour cracked me up. 😍🤣😁
