OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH they changed it when new York was released. Dude that's crazy and this the only video that gave me the explanation I was looking for. I've been confused ash as to why gear score and world tiers were just not on my game. Thank you for this I'll be subbing for more D2 if you still cover it💯
The game went on sale with the ultimate edition and my friends and I all got it. We were all confused and now I see that there really is no point in worrying about gear score levels because all we are gonna end up doing is eventually getting to SHD level. This kinda ruins the experience but I’m sure once we get to SHD levels we will be excited to grind the game to try and get our characters to perfection with our builds. This helped a lot and thank you
I think world tiers are good for understanding what your next best gear to look for in game is but you won't get the best gear until tier 5, where as war Lords has a chance for drops that could be god tolls. Ultimately where doing tiers you can't go back a difficulty like in war lords. I found tier 3 hard but doing the expansion you can change the open world difficulty to suit your running about and then change the missions difficulty for a better challenge.
I stopped playing after I got into the SHD level range. There was simply nothing more to discover or experience. It was always just the same shallow gamplay loop without (tactical) depth. If D2 would actually offer something new, like the survival mode in D1 did, I would have a reason to return. But as long as that doesn't happen, I ask myself: why should I? Thanks for the video, btw. This is really helpful! Would also like a little of bit of expansion on how SHD level differences effect DZ PvP encounters, how quickly it takes to level to 1000, and if you start at SHD level 1 (once reaching character level 40)?

Just got mine recently as a bundle with Warlords so I am confused if I should be jumping to new your at lvl 30 but lose trophies and story but its a good thing I started at 1 then with this guide I can just run and shoot, loot with ease.

Correct! when you head to New York the World Tiers stop being a thing and you start going from level 31 to 40, so level 40 is higher then World Tier 5.
friends and I started playing recently. We want to experience all the missions and major challenges the game has to offer. At this point, should we move to NY as soon as we finish the base game? Would you recommend that we grind GS before that? Can we grind GS after going to NY? Can we come back to Washington? And if we can, do we get any appropriate gear drops there? Or is it NY only for the late game? Pretty confused about the whole thing.

If you want to know what players experienced to min/max and level up before the DLC made it all obsolete, it's worth it. You'll technically get more bang for your buck as far as hours played is concerned... but it is grindy and repetitive, and is COMPLETELY obsolete the millisecond you step foot in the expansion. So it's your call. You will get some game time out of it, but for what purpose? That's up to you.
I have been wondering this myself. I just recently bought the game and hit lvl 30. And now that the seasons are on repeat I kind of want to take advantage and play catch up. Decisions Decisions.
@@soni_nyc2829 The Story/Manhunt of the Seasons last for roughly 3 months and can be done anytime so if you did want to play through the World Tiers, Which can be done quite quickly, you may just miss a few of the weekly events which do cycle through the Season just taking place over different missions or with different modifiers if that helps.
This video helped a bunch as I'm at WT4. So after warlords of New York and I return to the white house the map will not show world tier 5 anymore? Also can you explain the seasons? I'm lost on that. Thanks
No problem! Yes, after you finish Warlords everything will always be level 40 you will will be able to change the 'worlds' difficulty from Normal up to Heroic. And yeah not problem, my next video in the works is actually going over the Seasons and the Season events!
the issue is i'm at lvl 30, yet to finish the DC campaign, yet to start the NYC campaign. Should I start NYC and continue leveling up from 30 to 40? Would I miss anything from the World Tiers? What will happen to weapons and gears when I return to DC to finish the original campaign??
The world tiers have a small amount of story, more setting the scene for the Black Tusk faction so if you play for the lore and story I'd say it's probably worth playing them. Also when you start the Warlords of New York expansion and travel to New York it will auto complete anything you haven't played in DC, Story missions, Side missions and the world tiers will all be done when you return to DC so that's worth keeping in mind. That's wt I'd like to know bc there is a ton to do in base game so it would make zero sense if when you go back to DC that the gear from DC is now irrelevant. That would suck.

Tier one world to tier five world for me it’s just so you learn the new enemies and see how certain stuff works but I feel that’s just filler content I stopped after I hit tier three world and just use my booster for my first play through

5 days I was looking for the answer why I don't have a world tier/gear score after finishing WoNY. I was 100% convinced it was a bug, the game in no way informs about the change of leveling. I'm pissed and want to end the game f*****g 5 days of searching
When i first had the game i had the NY expansion, when leveling up and decided to check out new york and got jumped to level 31 one, once I got back to DC I kept my level as well and kept grind it to level 40, It was kinda a cheat and I guess thats why I'm confused about the leveling system since I never fully grinded it out by tier levels!!
A friend of mine and I started playing together and completed the Warlords of New York, now he's gone off and his SHD level is 50+ points more then me (me 30, him 80), but he is adamant it doesn't make him any better, is he talking rubbish? He can spend his SHD tech points on upgrades, he will have more health and more ammo capacity wont he?
With a difference that size I image it won't be to much of a difference, each point earned by the SHD levels is only worth about 0.2%/0.4% so there's very little inn it. At SHD 1000 the attributes you max out only give you 10/20% of difference attributes. Hope that helps!
Honestly I went to the dark zone and im gear score 504, I have a doubt… Do base level game players encounter high level 40 players? Or just base game players. Im thinking to get the warlords now because I finally understand it. And highkey I wanna go through the missions of that expansion. One more question tho, is it worth it?
As a newer player who owns the expansion would it be optimal for me to increase gear Score first prior to Warlords of New York or should I just straight go into it?
I suppose it depends what you want from the game, if you just want the most optimal to max level then go straight to Warlords. When you enter the expansion the Gear Score is no longer a thing so all of that gear isn't needed anymore.
Man, thank you for the explanation. I played Division about year ago didn’t pay attention to my level. I started back playing and I couldn’t figure out my level because my friend was at level 12, now he’s 16, I kept seeing Gear Score 500. Underneath that it says DZ 06 what does that mean?
What if I got to level 30 then skipped the black tusk and then completed warlords of New York? Basically I’m back in Washington. I still have the black tusk to deal with, but I’m leveling up my shade watch and I have all these new missions to do. What do I do first?

I did now every mission in Washington and New York. How do I get the calibration station active? I can’t do calibration because it’s saying I don’t have the elements or something for every gear piece and weapons. I’m now level 49 shd
So... if i jump to new york immediately after i hit level 30 and beat the original campaign, can i skip the gear score and black tusk stuff and bypass that whole grind?

So, do you need to be at World Tier 5 to do Warlords of New York or can you start it right after hitting level 30? I wouldn't mind more campaign but I'm almost moving to Tier 2 and don't want to miss anything if I get the expansion.
You need to finish the base story to unlock the WONY campaign, which includes maxing out your gear score and beating the final stronghold, however you can also make a new character that starts directly from the WONY campaign
U can start right afteer hitting lvl 30 if u got the expansion u can even skip the leveling for lvl 30 and start with lvl 30 so u could start with warlords of Ny if u would like to

There is one thing I did not understand. Do i have to progress through the world tiers and reach high gearscore before i can do the New York dlc or can i go directly after reaching lv 30?
Depends on what you're after from the game, the World Tiers do have a little story to go along with them. If you want to jump straight to endgame Warlords comes with a character boost to 31
I played this game backward! I started both of my characters from NY, and move them up to level 40。 Then the primary character went to DC and stay there. The 2nd character stays in NY and never goes to DC. I am confused about which world tier am I in? How do I check it? My main concern is that I need the blueprint to share resources between these two guys but can't get it. Some people says I need to complete all main missions (which I did) and be in world tier 5 to buy it. Neither of these guy has the option!
It really disappoints me to see that level 31 to 40 is dlc locked while there are things like the specialist sidearms that, leveled at max, require level 40 to reach it
So I currently clearing up my specialization challenges to get rewards and maxed them. I’m at World tier 1 and doing black tusk missions, after that can I just go with WONY without bothering with world tiers in DC?
I believe at level 30 you can stay WONY at any point if you like but if it's your first play through there is story attached to the World Tiers as you play through them.

It's very much up to yourself, the World Tiers do add to the story so if it's your first time playing through the game I would recommend!
How do you unlock the summit (I bought warlords of New York) it’s maybe because I didn’t finish the campaign for New York??
Yes it unlocks instantly after you beat all five bosses (including Keener) in New York

When i first had the game i had the NY expansion, when leveling up and decided to check out new york and got jumped to level 31 one, once I got back to DC I kept my level as well and kept grind it to level 40, It was kinda a cheat and I guess thats why I'm confused about the leveling system since I never fully grinded it out by tier levels!!
Can you tell us how to increase our gear rank too? I'm still a little lost after finishing warlords!

A friend of mine and I started playing together and completed the Warlords of New York, now he's gone off and his SHD level is 50+ points more then me (me 30, him 80), but he is adamant it doesn't make him any better, is he talking rubbish?
He can spend his SHD tech points on upgrades, he will have more health and more ammo capacity wont he?
With a difference that size I image it won't be to much of a difference, each point earned by the SHD levels is only worth about 0.2%/0.4% so there's very little inn it.
At SHD 1000 the attributes you max out only give you 10/20% of difference attributes.

Honestly I went to the dark zone and im gear score 504, I have a doubt… Do base level game players encounter high level 40 players? Or just base game players. Im thinking to get the warlords now because I finally understand it. And highkey I wanna go through the missions of that expansion. One more question tho, is it worth it?

If you go level 40 does the damage on weapons increase to over 11k ive been confused on how people have weapons that does 100k damage
As a newer player who owns the expansion would it be optimal for me to increase gear Score first prior to Warlords of New York or should I just straight go into it?
I suppose it depends what you want from the game, if you just want the most optimal to max level then go straight to Warlords.
When you enter the expansion the Gear Score is no longer a thing so all of that gear isn't needed anymore.
Man, thank you for the explanation. I played Division about year ago didn’t pay attention to my level. I started back playing and I couldn’t figure out my level because my friend was at level 12, now he’s 16, I kept seeing Gear Score 500. Underneath that it says DZ 06 what does that mean?

I did now every mission in Washington and New York. How do I get the calibration station active? I can’t do calibration because it’s saying I don’t have the elements or something for every gear piece and weapons. I’m now level 49 shd
So... if i jump to new york immediately after i hit level 30 and beat the original campaign, can i skip the gear score and black tusk stuff and bypass that whole grind?

So, do you need to be at World Tier 5 to do Warlords of New York or can you start it right after hitting level 30? I wouldn't mind more campaign but I'm almost moving to Tier 2 and don't want to miss anything if I get the expansion.
You need to finish the base story to unlock the WONY campaign, which includes maxing out your gear score and beating the final stronghold, however you can also make a new character that starts directly from the WONY campaign
U can start right afteer hitting lvl 30 if u got the expansion u can even skip the leveling for lvl 30 and start with lvl 30 so u could start with warlords of Ny if u would like to
What if Division 2 in the new DLC increased the level cap but in turn drained your SHD watch to level 0 just for you to build it up all over again?👿

You do indeed, without the expansion you can only get to level 30 then work up the gear score.

There is one thing I did not understand. Do i have to progress through the world tiers and reach high gearscore before i can do the New York dlc or can i go directly after reaching lv 30?
You can go straight to New York at level 30, when you get to New York Gear Score stops being a thing and you move to level 31.
So is world tier worth it if it just auto goes to 31 when you do the expansion?
Depends on what you're after from the game, the World Tiers do have a little story to go along with them.
If you want to jump straight to endgame Warlords comes with a character boost to 31
I leveled up from level 8 to 13 with one mission by playing with max level players and there is no video on how exactly that happened
I played this game backward! I started both of my characters from NY, and move them up to level 40。 Then the primary character went to DC and stay there. The 2nd character stays in NY and never goes to DC. I am confused about which world tier am I in? How do I check it? My main concern is that I need the blueprint to share resources between these two guys but can't get it. Some people says I need to complete all main missions (which I did) and be in world tier 5 to buy it. Neither of these guy has the option!

Bro so I boosted my player to 30 been playing for couple days now he don’t reach to level 31 or 40 can I sill level up or as boosted I stay at 30 ????
It really disappoints me to see that level 31 to 40 is dlc locked while there are things like the specialist sidearms that, leveled at max, require level 40 to reach it

Sadly so, without it you're capped at Gear Score 515.
So I currently clearing up my specialization challenges to get rewards and maxed them. I’m at World tier 1 and doing black tusk missions, after that can I just go with WONY without bothering with world tiers in DC?
I believe at level 30 you can stay WONY at any point if you like but if it's your first play through there is story attached to the World Tiers as you play through them.
