I just started playing the game again since it came out. My head was about to explode with all the numbers and stats and ways to configure your guy, it's crazy lol. I just said let me just focus on what each button does. This allowed me to get really into the game, because I was about to stop playing just because of all the things you got to remember. Now I'm hooked with the game, I forgot how much fun it was. I still don't get a lot of the stuff but it will come. Great job explaining this part of the game.

Just started playing D2 and there are a lot of systems and features in this game that can appear overwhelming due to the lack of thorough explanation. I just unlocked the recal./optimization station and was lost with the instructions provided by the game. However, your video enabled me to understand the value of this system a lot better. When I first did this, I wasn't aware you can only pick ONE of either core att stat or attribute or talent to transfer. I was so demoralized because that meant I would need to do endless grinding anyway to find god rolls or CLOSE to god rolls and just change one of the above things to make it god tier

I took a break after the game crashed on me, *again*, to watch some TH-cam videos. I've been away from the game for a year and having just come back this week, it's good to get in a refresher as I felt kind of lost. I gotta agree with the other commenters, this is one of the best videos explaining recalibration and optimization out there.
I have just not 10 minutes ago unlocked the ability to recalibrate/tinker my inventory. I took one look at the recalibration menu and was like "ah hell no that looks far too complicated for me" and walked away. I will give this a watch the next time I load up the game as I will forget it. Thanks for this video

I've made the mistake of recalibrating an item that is not in a loadout, then to find out i could of used it on a loadout ive just made. I 100% agree to not calibrate an item unless it's on a loadout. It's ok to max an item that way but changing an attribute when you don't need to can make life hard because you've got to grind again for another piece. A really good video 4.
thanks dude, yeah I don't even optimize anything anymore, it's still really grindy and not worth it when I can just get another piece to drop with better stats.
@@4AMSession I hardly do either. Only gear i optimize from a low attribute is exotics because you can't change there stats by re calibrating them. At least I'm pretty sure you can't.
nice vid! one thing I can add is if you extract an attribute like 2.5 critical damage and later extract a 3.0 it will delete the lower one and keep the 3.0 critical damage so you dont get cluttered with small atteibutes you dont need 🙂

I don't really do much crafting because once you hit end game you can use the Targeted Loot Map. Complete activities in areas of the map to farm specific types of loot, so it basically nullifies the need for crafting in a lot of cases.
Me and a couple of buddies picked up the division 2 along with warlords of New York a week or so ago. Thanks for the amazing video. Really helped me understand how exactly the recalibration station works. I have a question though. Is there some sort of data base where you can check on the max value of attributes? Does the max value depend on gear rarity and the type of gear ? Thanks in advance mate.
Thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it. The best way to see an attribute's max would probably be to go into the Recalibration Library then select a gun or armor piece. Hover over an attribute and on the top right of the screen you can see its max. Starting at 1:41 in the video you can see examples when I'm in the Recal Library. High End and Gear Set armor have the same attribute max's. Exotics might have the ability to roll higher stats but I'm not sure. Named high end pieces can have some attributes higher than the normal max. For example, I have a named marksman rifle that has a higher headshot damage attribute than what the normal max is, it's in my marksman rifle video for reference.

Yeah, just wait until you’re done with the story and dlc if you have it. You’ll constantly get better gear while leveling. One thing you could do now is start adding weapon and armor talents to your recalibration library though.
I honestly think the next division game should rework the whole leveling system and stat increase for weapons and armor make it more of a destiny system where if your using a legendary high end or exotic and another weapon or armor piece drops that’s a higher level than all you need is materials to optimize your current weapon to get the higher weapons gear score and stats increase instead of just changing a attribute or slowly optimizing your weapon until max by then most likely a better version of the same weapon will drop and there will be no need to optimize at all and also an option to toggle backpacks on and off
Thank you! Seems like we would want to reserve Recalibration for weapons and gear that we not only really, really like, but which are almost perfect just with one "wrong" stat or perk. Also if I understand what you're saying, if I destroy let's say a Marksman's Rifle to get +10% Chance to Crit, that 10% to Crit will be permanently in my Library, and it can be applied to all future Marksman's Rifles. The attribute in my Library does not get used up during the Recalibration process, yes?
Thanks dude. You don’t lose attributes or talents stored in the Recal Library, even when used. You can add a talent or attribute to as many items as you want and you’ll never lose it from your library.

A good way to find your build's dps is at the gun range in the White House, go to the stall that's second to the right. Change the enemy difficulty to Elite and on the right side of the shooting booth you'll see your calculated dps once you've destroyed the target. There's a lot that goes into making a good dps or pvp build, they're totally different. Honestly, I would start looking up videos on each type of build, once you've watched a couple you'll start to see what players prioritize with their builds. Copy a build if you can then start trying different talents and decide on which ones benefit your build or play style.
This help alot. So as long as you have the materials you can keep rolling until you have it maxed in the library right? The resources that alot of time to get.

Yup, you can optimize any attribute or core attribute on a piece of gear, even if you've optimized a different attribute on that piece already.

Amazing vid. So you can store multiple extracted stats in your library for ever, untill you put that stat on another gear piece?

Does the gear have to be the same name in order to recalibrate? I extracted a 12 critical hit damage but can't use it on my gear

I'm not able to donate junk at the recalibration table. I have plenty of items marked as junk but nothing is getting donated.
