    Always cool how each of us Yak owners create their own custom versions of what they do.

    I love the whole build of your kayak. I have one just like it and in process of building and adding to it also but you do excellent work and very neat which I like also. Thank you.

    I commented on the livewell video. Again, this is not the livewell for a PA14 nor PA12...unless you modify the intake tube to be longer thru the scupper hole into the water. The Hobie V2 livewell you have is for the Outback and other models like Compass. The correct Hobie-XL livewell for PA does have an internal plastic shield (Removeable Tank Partition-RTP), protecting pump and red-drain release from being clogged. Your V2 should have this RTP as well. However, I do add an external Bubbler when using minnows fishing fresh water. But saltwater fin/baitfish, the livewell itself is excellent in recirculating constant flow of salt water into & out of the tank, no additional bubbler/aerator needed.
    nice set up tips on the BlackPack crate. Love mine too.

    I have been looking at that box. Nice to see it on the kayak. I have the large h crate now and it is ok.

    I’ve got the 13x16 blackpak pro for my predator pdl. Love it so far. Only complaint would be the hooks on the rod tubes. They seem to get stuck sometimes. The great thing, however, is those boxes are so customizable.

    Great video. I’ll be adding one of those to my Bonafide. I’ve been needing a place for the trolling motor battery, so this is perfect.

    That's love wells are rediculace in price, which is why I haven't bought one. I've been kayak fishing for 9yrs now. Mostly for bass but I do fish for crappie & striper. Nothing like hooking into a monster striper in the kayak!!! I just use a bucket with an airator I made. Then once I'm ready to launch I use a flow through bait bucket. Its always kept my minnows or herring alive just fine. I let the flow through trial behind me with paracord. If I'm gonna make a longer hill I'll pull it up & set it in back. So it doesn't cause as much drag. Then drop it back in when I'm to my spot.

    Another Epic build bro. Gave me a few, DIY Add-on ideas, for my new wilderness systems kayak crate. I love my matching colors. I did purchase my new 2023, Oldtown Sportsman, 120 pdl, this year. And i upgraded to the new PP 768 J2- Bixpy. Much more power, battery life, for covering, and exploring new water. Getting it all dialed in, and setup. The Boat is looking awesome bro. Can't wait to see the speed, on the 3hp. 😎 🌊 🎣 🛶

    I have a hobie baitwell and I think it works pretty good - but my live bait is shiners or jack smelt - so nothings swimming into the pump. Also I think it’s a 6 volt battery specifically to reduce the flow - couldn’t you change to a 12 volt battery to increase the flow to keep that bait out of the pump?

  • @MavHntr
    @MavHntr ปีที่แล้ว +1

    sorry forgot...on the tube from bilge pump into the livewell, I added a slotted plug to end of tube, similar to the intake tube thru the scupper hole, that will keep smaller minnows/baitfish from swimming into the pump.

    Can you do a video about your battery setup? I see that you have your NK motor battery in the back and your Xi3 motor battery in the front, but what battery are you using for your accessories? Are you running Garmin Livescope yet? If so what battery are you using for that? Thanks!!

    Nice set up! If you have room along the side put a YakAttack 90 mount for your light so you can mount it and leave it. One less thing to forget when loading up.

    How is the paddling of the kayak affected by putting the seat at its highest level to fit the 2 tray box? New subscriber who just bought a used Hobie Pro Angler 14 180. Thanks for all you are doing!

    • @KayakUSA1
      @KayakUSA1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching, I’ve never used the lower position in any of my pro anglers, you only use the top position, it paddles great and is more comfortable 👍🏼

    lol, yes,, it is upsetting that factories charge so much for a product that is basically incomplete and not throught through. This is true for Hobie and for OldTown. Those are the only 2 Kayaks I have expreience with.

    After 12 years owning multiple Hobies, they have lost me as a customer for good. They don't stand behind their products or warranty anymore and their quality have gone down while the prices just go up.
