Awesome videos TJ. Keep it up my brother. I'm always looking forward for your next one. Religiously every week. May God keep you safe and God bless America
Man that is a clean setup. I’m in the planning phase for my new PA and you’ve given me some motivation. Love that NK300. Going to add a guard to mine. I’ll be navigating a lot of skinny water with oyster shell.
TJ, Innovative Sportsman makes prop protector and a simple weed and line cutter that can fit on your New Port. I have it on mine and they work and save your prop. I wish I had your knowledge /DYI.
Solid setup! Couple things from my experience with livescope. Take the GLS10 black box off of the yak power switch. I noticed I would have a voltage drop from the switch compared to the battery. My livescope picture got much clearer running off its own power wire. Also you will need a bigger battery to power up your graphs, livescope and accessories for a 8 hour day.
Noticed no scupper wholes ? I don't have a Hobie but a Atak 140 , transom motor , foot steering , 34 wide , no pedal , I can appreciate your open deck. My thoughts , if I was too get a pedal drive , plus motor , I am giving up open flat deck , Perfect for this 76 kid too move around , retrieve items from behind me , You do nice clean work , Clean garage . Next motor will be a Newport NK
Nice build! I'm considering adding on a NK300 in addition to already having the Xi3 to my PA14. How did the additional weight of both the battery and NK units effect the balance of the kayak? Your setup from a motor and battery perspective will be similar to what mine would be. Thanks!
Seems like that thing would be heavy… I own and have fished in mine for 2 years, mostly in salt water. I am constantly looking for a way to shed weight. That is a boat ramp beauty, for sure.
Do you ever have to charge any of the batteries? If so how long do you get per charge? Just struggling to figure out what battery I should run on my yak.
6 central time just so everyone knows it’s 7 here in Pa…..and I hate to say it but with ur inspiration my kayak will be better….my lifetime trenton11.6 …. Your hobie is bad ass tho…. Thanks TJ
I don’t know now many times I just Watch your kayak videos. Congrats for it!!! There is so much knowledge and love in it. I would like to ask you how did you attach your central hatch battery? I want to place there my Garmin power battery (25Am). Do you use any battery mount or tray?? I just bought my PA14. Thanks for all the things you just teach to me. 😊👍 sorry for my English I try hard!! 😅
I think you had the xi3 footpedal on there before I have one for mine I use that alot. When fishing need some kind of foot steering its a pain with the remote when your working a bank. Or the wind is blowing your constantly making minor adjustments
I would really like to get that seat with the storage underneath it. I have a Vanhunks Pike kayak. Do you think it would fit? I tried looking up the seat on hobie's website but couldn't find a picture of it and the description didn't tell me anything. How much does the seat cost?
Was it fairly easy to modify the Ketch handle to work with the TP steering system? Juggling between the rail mounted and foot control steering. Could you share why you selected the rail mounted steering unit over the foot control?
Nice set up. I have a similar arrangement on my PA12. I do believe however that you will need a larger battery for your graphs and Livescope black box. Together they draw 5 amps so you’ll only get about 4 1/2 hours of run time with the 23 ah battery. I have a 54 ah and it fits nicely in the center hatch where you’ve got yours. I also had a kill switch installed for my LVS34 which will allow me to turn it off when not in use.
Very nice setup here. My question is do you leave everything ( xi3, graphs, Newport motor, blackpak….on the kayak when u trailering on the road. Or u just set everything up when u arrive the shore? Cause It would be a nightmare if u set everything up by the time u arrive and take all out from the boat and put it back to the car when u r done from fishing 🥺
Great walkthrough. I have the NK300 and looking to get it mounted. When you mounted the NK300 throttle control to the Ketch mounting plate, did you have to pre-drill holes in it to the pattern on the throttle bottom in order to mount it to the Ketch plate? Also, I don't want to drill holes in my kayak and thinking about going with the TP foot control. Have you tested the TP foot control steering? If so, which TP steering option would you suggest? I have a PA 14 360 as well.
I added holes to the bottom of my NK300 throttle plate to match the holes in my ketch plate. As for the steering, I’ve had both and I prefer hand steering over foot steering. I like a clean open floor area. 👊🏼
Great video once again And very nice setup. One question, in the video you posted installing all of your Ketch Products. You said the reason you changed your graph setup was because it moved a lot. I was hoping you would show how solid the new Ketch cross bar was. Has the new Jake plates and cross bar improved this? I have the same issue with my current setup.
Hi mate, was wondering if you weighed the kayak fully loaded? Cheers love your build, iv taken alot of inspiration, for my own build. Thanks Beno, from Australia.
TJ awesome video.. I have a single screen and was wondering where did you find the cross plate for your Jake plate.. The side view is driving me crazy.. Thank you kindly
Do your pedals hit your screens with the ketch cross board? Or you short pedal the reason why im asking is because i haven’t bought my trolling motor yet so im using my pedals
TJ, really appreciate your channel and the details and links that you provide. Curious on how you are securing the Dewalt storage. Are you just using the cross strap provided?
Yep, finally got out testing my 2 - 12" Garmin graphs. I had them on 1 -12V 50AMP and its a no go if you want both graphs on, which I do. Looking for suggestions. One graph is totally dedicated to Live Scope (GLS-10 black box w/ LVS34 ) and other graph is with GT-56 Transducer and Garmin Steady Cast) . I think I need to dedicate a battery per each graph??
My channel is not a fishing channel. I film my fishing videos when I have time, if you want to watch someone catch fish, there’s about a million of those channels on TH-cam… 👍🏼
By far the best kayak I ever seen!! I’m hoping to have a build like this for the 2025 season.
Putting the paddle on the gunwale is a legit mod. Definitely doing that.
Love everything you've done. It's neat, tidy and convenient! Thank you for sharing with us. God bless!
Thank you! You too!
Best set up I’ve seen, soooo clean. Expensive I imagine, but it’s perfect.
This yak is straight 🔥. Awesome build.
Amazing setup and a great video on the process. Nice make on the graph covers !
Thank you! Cheers! 🍻
Wow....a poster child for there truly being no kill like overkill! LOL
Cool boat!
Wow..... Thanks bro! You're cool 👍🏼
Nice walk-through, TJ!! You have a great setup.
Thanks!

damn!!!!! thats one hell of a build

Absolutely awesome, great job!
That things insane!
Awesome set up! Might make my next build just like this!

Very nice job. Nice shop too.
Thanks 👍

It's a amazing kayak system.
I am also kayak fishing in Japan.
Very Nice Setup!
Thanks!

Great build!! Maybe consider the YakAttack short stack for your blackbox
10:44 would love to see a small video on how you made the drive hole cover. I have a non 360 pro angler and want to do something similar
Do you ever have to charge any of the batteries? If so how long do you get per charge? Just struggling to figure out what battery I should run on my yak.
Very nice . Where can I purchased the dashboard head mount ?
6 central time just so everyone knows it’s 7 here in Pa…..and I hate to say it but with ur inspiration my kayak will be better….my lifetime trenton11.6 …. Your hobie is bad ass tho…. Thanks TJ

Kayak USA. I enjoy watching your videos. Can you do a video on the fish finder shade.
Dope set up! Im thinking about getting that NK 300!
Thanks! Do It! 👊🏼
I think you had the xi3 footpedal on there before I have one for mine I use that alot. When fishing need some kind of foot steering its a pain with the remote when your working a bank. Or the wind is blowing your constantly making minor adjustments
Great setup! How did you mount the battery in the hull? Thanks !!
Such a well thought out rig! How much run time are you getting from your graphs on that 23Ah battery?
A full weekend 🤙🏼

Nice yak and great detailed videos. I was wondering how did the Power Queen Mini work out? I was thinking of incorporating it into my build.
I love it! No issues so far 🤙🏼
@@KayakUSA1 I like it! Thanks for the feedback.
Looks great TJ...now get that thing wet.
That's the plan! 👊🏼
Was it fairly easy to modify the Ketch handle to work with the TP steering system? Juggling between the rail mounted and foot control steering. Could you share why you selected the rail mounted steering unit over the foot control?
You do a great job, very thorough and professional. Do You trailer the Xi3 on the Kayak ?
Thank You

Nice setup!!! Just curious, that is a lot of batteries and electronics, do you keep a fire extinguisher on board?
Nahhh

Everything stays on the kayak except my NK300 and rods. I install my NK300 at the boat ramp when I load my rods in. 👍🏼
Any chance you make a video on how you altered Tim Percy’s steering to the Ketch steering handle ? I’m about to have to tackle this very task !! 😂🤣
Great walkthrough. I have the NK300 and looking to get it mounted. How much does your Hobie Kayak weigh with everything attached and how much more will it take to sink, the Kayak can only take so much weight?
What type of welder do you reccomend for a father and son to learn on and build some trailers?

Yes, checkout my Kayak Overhaul video 👍🏼
If you carry a fishing net do you usually just put it in one of the rod holders ? Great job on this video as usual!

You’ve got to be over the weight limit! How much does this pig weigh? Mine has half that stuff and she’s a beast to move around.
Do you really need the Newport and the Xi3? Almost seems redundant…. I’m thinking the Xi3 w/gps for sure but can’t really decide on the back motor
I went over the pros and cons of them both in this video.
th-cam.com/video/zE-5jsADcgU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sQ5S5G789kyhLBbq
Where did u get the aluminum plates that your capitain bridge is mounted too.
great build. now go get that $20k setup slimed up. enough of it being a garage ornament.😜
TJ, really appreciate your channel and the details and links that you provide. Curious on how you are securing the Dewalt storage. Are you just using the cross strap provided?
Thanks , I actually bolted it down. The install video is on my channel 🤙🏼
@@KayakUSA1 thanks will look for it.
awesome setup! also curious about the the watch you are wearing since im a watch guy too lol? great video thanks for sharing!
Thanks! My watch is the classic black Lumi Nox 👍🏼
@@KayakUSA1 cool watch!
Very good video
Thanks!
What plug and receptacle are you using for the motorguide xi3?
Are the deck pad kits worth getting?
Does your Garmin’s link with your trolling motor? GPS and stuff?
Awesome setup man.
I don’t link them with my xi3, thanks man 🤙🏼
Curious how much you have in that build
Drop the Garmins go with lowrance then you can control you xi3 from your graph
Nahhhh
You will need a bigger battery for your graphs and livescope

How did you get the dual garmins installed on the front? I can’t find a mount for that anywhere that would fit my old town 120
Check out my channel 👍🏼
Would you please give us a video that shows caching some fish with the mods. What if you made a mod and showed it on the water catching a fish. Wow.
My channel is not a fishing channel. I film my fishing videos when I have time, if you want to watch someone catch fish, there’s about a million of those channels on TH-cam… 👍🏼
TJ did you wrap your yak?
Yep, full video on my channel, Subscribe 👍🏼
Could literally get a nice center console for this amount! 😂
You cannot fish a kayak tournament in a center console.. 👍🏼
I used to like this page. Should rename account to Hobie USA.
What is the rod carrier on your trailer?
Check out the trailer build video 👍🏼
What is the complete setup cost
If I was only rich😊
You're really pushing the definition of "kayak" with that, lol.
I`ll take it. How much do I owe you?
Geesh just get a boat. 2 motors 2 screens smh haha.
Copy of Torqeedo!
At this point just buy a boat.
I have a boat..... 😉
Maze well just buy a pro.bass pro.boat bro salt thing just less space but same price 😅😂
I have one of those too 👍🏼
Beautiful!! Awesome set up.
Thank you!
