  • In this video I restore a rather beat up Honda GX160 engine for my coleman ct100u mini bike. I add a few upgrades as well like high compression flat top piston, high compression 14cc cylinder head, 1.3 ratio rockers, 22lb valve springs, 22mm mikuni carburetor, high flow air filter and a header. thank you for checking out the video and have a great day!

    This was extremely helpful I currently have a Honda replica it’s a 7.5hp 212cc and just from watching this video I now know how to disassemble and reassemble a motor and also how to change the parts and give it some weight reduction 💯 just one more thing is if you could leave the links to the parts you have in your description

    Trying to put one together, i have governor delete, 18lbs valve springs, mikuni and intake and aluminum flywheel. I was pondering a different cam🤔 i have a stock predator cam that i was thinking about using if possible, all of the measurements seem to be identical or Really Close, any imput would be Really appreciated.

      Oh and What will the 1.3 ratio rocker arms do?

    • @jdmjedi777
      @jdmjedi777  ปีที่แล้ว

      @anthonyreddy2834 The ratio rocker arms do pretty much the same thing as a cam. They increase the lift at the valves by changing the pivot point of the rockers. I'm using the stock cam for now. With the ratio rockers, you gotta be careful with how big of a cam you use to prevent piston to valve contact. My suggestion would be to clay the motor with the cam you want to run before final assembly.

    Hey man, would that exhaust pipe fit on a blitz doodle bug mini bike 70cc frame with a predator 212 motor? I have a grab bar type thing behind the seat & a reinforced bar type thing below that. I contacted the Go Kart stinger company & they said they're not mechanics and they don't know! I burned my leg pretty bad & want a stinger exhaust pipe that is under ne instead of the the side of me.
    PLEASE HELP!!

    • @jdmjedi777
      @jdmjedi777  ปีที่แล้ว

      A cheap temporary solution would be to use either some header wrap or one of the mini bike exhaust heat shield tube thing they sell. It will still get really hot but it's better than just the metal exhaust pipe. It's hard to say if this exhaust will fit or not. It fits on my Coleman ct100u, but I'm unable to use the muffler because it doesn't clear the frame. It's decently tucked away but definitely still pokes out enough to burn your leg. They make some that exit under the seat. You may want to look at some of those and take some measurements to see what could work. Best of luck!

      A pz20 should do fine for a stock motor. If you do end up installing more upgrades down the road though, it could possibly end up a restriction. Torque converters help with low end torque a ton as well.

    • @jdmjedi777
      @jdmjedi777  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the duplicolor METALCAST in red color. It's really important that you use the duplicolor metalcast primer though. Otherwise it won't come out looking like this at all. It can usually be found at auto stores like oreilly, auto zone, ect ect in the automotive spray paint aisle. Kind of expensive though, like 10-15 dollars a can.
