Isn't it faster to use predefined SmartArt, in particular Organization Chart? It already has a hierarchy included in its function, and automatically formats and positions boxes according to hierarchy levels and automatically adds connectors between boxes. Style and colors of the entire chart (WBS) can be then using predefined styles and color schemes. It can save a lot of time and effort spent with manual formatting.
