I've got a 2022 SS 1LE 6 Speed manual. I ordered mine early December 2021 took delivery six months later. Mine is similar in color I have the Satin Steel Metalic and you are correct it's a fun car to drive. I also change the oil at 500 miles but I'm not tracking mine car, so I haven't changed the elsd fluid. I turned 3,000 miles last weekend and called my dealer's service department to see if I should bring it in to the rear end fluid changed. They said if I weren't tracking it that I was good until 45,000 miles. With the last Camaro's rolling off the assembly line in January I'm glad I ordered when I did. These 1LE's are hard to fine and it will probably be hard to get allocation on a 2024. Happy riding and stay safe.
I got a pretty good amount of sludge off the magnetic drain plug at 1500mi. Not sure if this car will ever see the track, but with the gear mesh being brand new, your bound to have some metallic debris in there.
Need one in my life😮💨hoping to put in an order by January. Hate that they discontinued the satin steel metallic but hope your enjoying the car my friend.
@@karlhungus8946 I can’t wait to see it. I actually ordered the sharkskin without even seeing it. I only knew it would be some kind of grey or silver. Lol
@@darkfader914- I had a Rapid Blue 1SS 1LE on order at my local dealer, but they didn't get an allocation in time for the June cutoff for 2023s. And since Rapid Blue isn't going to be available for 2024, my order was canceled by GM. So about 10 days ago, I went back to doing inventory searches within a 250-mile radius, something I though I was done with. By some miracle, a dealer 2 hours away had a Red Hot 2SS 1LE sitting on their lot. Drive down the next morning and traded in my 2022 Mustang GT. I went from expecting a Rapid Blue 1SS 1LE to buying a Red Hot 2SS 1LE, and I couldn't be happier.
Had a close call with mine in the rain also. SCARY! Daily driver so had to switch out to Michelin All Season. Problem solved. Mine’s a 2020 and I love it!!
The camera mount is a suction cup mount I got at the AT&T store a few years ago, but I’m unsure of the brand. I use it in the Jeep most of the time. It wasn’t expensive at all.
While I realize this is not the purpose of the car, but will it break loose (lay down rubber) in 1st, 2nd? With or without traction control? Just wondering with the sticky tires.
I'm sure I could get it loose by turning some nannies off and dumping the clutch, however, these tires are way too expensive for me to be burning them off. haha Thanks for watching!
I just love shifting my own gears. I know the new AT’s are very efficient, but I know I would’ve regretted not getting the MT in this car. I didn’t try the new Mustangs, I am in the middle of a long fox body restoration now and I just really wanted the Camaro.
We have 2 ZL1s. 1 6MT & 1 A10. We are in NorCal. We love them both, the A10 is an engineering masterpiece, but the 6MT just makes you feel like you're a part of the car, and it bumps up the fun factor immensely. I plan on keeping the 6MT and selling the A10.
dam I thought it was only me. I feel like my ventilated seats don’t work either.. Most the time I don’t feel anything lol. Was going to ignore it but now I feel like doing some research. I’m in a 2020 2SS
@@darkfader914 ya i've seemed to only notice they work on super hot days when my cars been sitting in the sun. Im thinking thats probably just how it is
I have a ‘24 2SS 1LE on order and the build sheet doesn’t list the ventilated seats. Heated, yes. Cooled, no. Guess they said screw it. I’ve seen a ton of comments/complaints on the cooled seats in previous 6th gens.
Quick question if I may. You seem to have similarly broad shoulders and barreled chest. May I ask your measurements if that is not too intrusive? Furthermore, do you find these seats to be tolerable, pleasing or just plain uncomfortable around the Latissimus and Teres major/minor muscles in the upper back region? I was trying out some C8 seats (both the standard and GT2) on one of my _incredibly_ bad spinal injury days and found the seats to be...interesting for lack of a better term. Then again, I did not get ample seat time to make a complete assessment as it was approximately 114°F that day in Scottsdale, AZ. While I was at the dealership, I was hoping to sit in a 2SS 1LE or ZL1 (Non-1LE) for further reference. Unfortunately, they had _one_ Camaro on the lot and it was an older V6 automatic. Therefore, I did not even consider wasting my time. Appreciate the help brother. You have earned another subscriber. Stay classy my friend.
I’m definitely a bigger guy, currently 6ft tall and weigh in the 230’s. I’m working on my fitness though and will certainly have a smaller waist by next spring. When I first brought the car home, it was a pretty tight fit for me in the seat. Currently, I find that I must be centered in the seat. Any deviation side to side is just not comfortable, but I believe that’s the point of race seats. On the other hand, I don’t suffer a spinal injury, which I pass my sympathy to you for. I’m sure that’s awful and I hope you can heal up but I know that can be a lifetime of misery. I do find myself trying to lean in the seat on occasion, and it just doesn’t work. That said, when I’m centered, I love them. With seat feel being so subjective, I’m not sure if I can give you any tips, but I’ll be glad to try to answer any questions you may have. I wish you luck!

@@BertShackleford these cars shouldn’t even be available in auto transmissions. Lol. True, they are a hair faster, but it’s too much fun being in control of the shifts. Good luck with your shopping decision. I can’t imagine either car will disappoint you.
No markup from my dealer. I won't do business at a dealership that marks a vehicle up just because of a name plate. Shop around, there are plenty of good dealers out there not looking to rob the customer. I deal with Criswell Chevy in Gaithersburg, MD and they were awesome and I will certainly buy from them again.
Was going to ask about this experience with your Camaro. I inquired about a 2SS 1LE at a local dealer and they emailed me a price list with $6K in overpriced dealer add-ons. Told them I wasn’t interested in all of those. They wouldn’t budge and the car disappeared from the website the next day. I figure someone did pay them. Would love getting one but not going to get bullied by a dealer like that. You have an awesome car, hope you have lots of good times ahead in your Camaro.
Thanks for the advise. I finally found a dealer with no mark up and no junk add-ons or fees, about 2 hours from my home. I got a 1SS 1LE in Sharkskin Metallic yesterday for MSRP.

@18:35 what cool scenery on a nice country backroad setting. Nice twisty road carved into the trees.

Good luck with the ordering process! Satin steel was a beautiful color as well, but the sharkskin is probably as close as you can get to that now.
Nice video! I have a 22 1SS 1LE M6 and love this car. Way back, I has a 1981 Z28 and the difference in power and handling is amazing.
Yea it continues to impress me with its looks and performance. Definitely keeping this one forever.
