Great video mate, think Arsenal have to be close to perfect for the remainder of the season if they want to win the league. Liverpool at the moment are so strong in every area and it will take something huge to stop them right now.
Liverpool’s on pace to end the season with about 96 points, so it’d be remarkable if they managed that regardless of how good they are. If Arsenal can maintain the points per fixture that they achieved after the Dubai trip last season for the rest of this season, I’d bet that’d be enough to catch up.
Finally! Logical sense! Genuinely baffles me how people don't realise/try to discredit the fact that we've played extremely hard away fixtures. I mean, who else is supposed to go on a run that includes City, Liverpool, Villa, Spurs, Chelsea and take maximum points? And PSG, Inter & Atalanta in the Champions League. Not even peak Wenger/Fergie were doing that.
@ is that supposed to prove something? Alright, PSG, Atalanta & Inter. Now what? Form and fatigue magically vanish because it’s Newcastle, Brighton and Bournemouth? This is real life. Not FIFA.
This video basically was the final nail for my mind to settle down. There's no point in throwing the towel on a competition that still has so much to play and without any of us having a significant knowledge of what future reserves for the team and the rest of the competition. I might be apprehensive and recognise the stip road ahead that we've made for ourselves, but I'll wait until February to make final assumptions about where we will finish. Plus, after years and years of being skeptical of this team's resilience and ability to take it over the line, what would it tell about us fans if we gave up on a competition that's not even on his halfway point? 🤷🏿♂️
The steep hill analogy is apt. Arsenal will have to be very good to catch up, but Arsenal have proven themselves to be very good for the past two seasons in a row. Liverpool will have to slow down a bit (and they probably will), but that’s not something the players or Arteta can control. If they play at the level they’ve shown the past two seasons, then they have a very good chance of catching up.
There is a lot of overreacting from our fans at the moment. It's easy to support the team when they are doing well. Now they need our support. Season is far from over.
You're right. But we have to be careful and not label every criticism as toxic, fickle, irrational etc. I was proud to be an Arsenal fan over the last week when I saw the overwhelming support for Arteta and the boys amidst a tough spell. And it's the support and faith that they have earned. But I also saw WAY more tweets and posts criticising the 'Arteta Outters' than actual 'Arteta out' tweets. We really need to be careful. It's perfectly reasonable for a fan to fully behind his team and still be doubtful of their chances of winning the title based on what they've seen so far.
It's insane how reactionary we are these days. Going toe to toe with the one of the best teams the league has ever seen two seasons in a row only to fall short, then to see Slot's team in title winning form has a lot of people feeling very impatient. I wonder what people will be saying if we win our next 3-4 league games and Liverpool drop points

Really insightful in terms of points needed to win the league and why. I think a reason why the comeback is on the rise is with how much added time we get in games now. It would be interesting to see the stat for goals in 90+ minutes alongside the increase in how many teams comeback to win.

Great video my bro, very balanced but I will always believe this year will be our year. Things can only get better from here and let’s see how we are by the winter break
Although I do think that we don't have an excuse for our results, I do think that we aren't in as much trouble as most people think. The league table is so compressed there's one point between 3rd and 9th, and we're up against arguably the weakest Man City team in years and a Liverpool team who haven't had the most difficult tests yet. If we can hit the form we did last season, there's no reason we can't win the title.
I do think concern is warranted. It certainly looks like it's a struggling city (by their lofty standards at least) and yet they're still better than us. We've picked up decent results. But because we've dropped points against 'lesser' opposition, every point dropped now will feel like another nail in the coffin. We've left ourselves zero margin. And now have to do something we've never done before and be perfect for the remainder of the season, and even that might not be enough. The pessimism is not irrational at all.
The thing is even if Liverpool lose 4 games, in order for us to catch them, we need to have a near perfect record which ain't happening with this squad of players

Arsenal have had 5/9 possible away games vs the current top 10. Liverpool have had 1 and City 3. Arsenal have already faced their 3 toughest opponents in the Champions League after only 4 games. That's 3/4 difficult games. We have had by far the more difficult program in the Premier League and the Champions league. Do you think Liverpool would be where they are at, if they had had the same fixtures... The answer is no.

I do feel like their run has similarities to the Emery 22 game unbeaten run which was literally a Wenger hangover and a smoke screen for what was to come. We just need to start winning games ourselves and see where it takes us.
I love the optimism I need it. Its just hard to believe that in yhe next 27 games Liverpool will loose 2 and draw 2 more games than we will in that run. That's why though early in the season it seems unlikely we'll win the league
The only problems we face right now are getting Kudus and Gykores if we can get those two then we will be unstoppable. And about fixtures we need these players to beat the lower teams. I feel we need to give Martinelli a better competition and Arteta can’t use Sterlins because he can’t defend. We also need to let Jesus and Zinchenko go.
Agreed the league is more competitive, while that gives hope for the title still, also feels like we’re gonna drop more points at different times this season maybe beyond our “room for error”
Good work as always. I think a slightly lower total than last season might just be enough. A record of W22 D3 L22 would give 69 points from 27 and 87 points overall. Would need impeccable form but it’s not beyond THIS team. It’s definitely not over yet!
Stats are one thing, but I know if you watched arsenal recently it’s hard to say they look like league winners. Neither do city but they have the world class to pull it off
I'm not worried about the gap. It's a long season with European challenges etc. I really don't know why some people are so easily influenced by stats such as 'no team has won the premier league who were 9 points behind the leaders at this stage in a season'. SO WHAT!! Can't be done? The invincibles couldn't be done they said. Get a live, take the day off, have a break. Keep believing!!!!
thanks alex for helping arsenal fans from being emotionally charged and giving up this early without analyzing the facts...and yeah you are right liverpool are nowhere near where people conceive them to be, their crisis is on the way they are going to slump down the table...and well about city let's thank god rodri got injured...this year bar any nightmarish spells for arsenal-we are winning 2 or more silverware this year🎉
The way i see it . Arteta built a great team last season. Im sure he wanted to build on that this season but not everything goes to plan. I really wanna see the next team he builds . Let him cook
I somehow get the sense that Jesus, Nwaneri and Sterling are going to be a huge part of the second half of the season. Very very very wishful thinking but also just a feeling
Only name out of those 3 is nwaneri. I rly dont understand why arteta doesnt use him as much. With odegaard out i was expecting mikel to use nwaneri to fill that role. All games we played without odegaard were lacking in creativity on our side. No killer passes, flair or that it factor (i was expecting those from martinelli, but i think he more than makes up for those with his defensive output). I get that hes a youngster, but i think every arsenal fan saw we were missing something “out of the box” plays and i think nwaneri was that spark.
I have a friend at work who hates it when I talk data. She watches football and just goes on eyes and 'feel' and I guess punditry. She thinks Havertz is awful and criticises him every week. She thinks we are back to the banter days and have zero chance of recovery. Thanks for keeping me grounded and realistic.
Q. If we say the league is so competitive and then we asking the team to replicate a run which is not normal after the performances we have put in (with no Dubai), don’t you think it’s a tall order to achieve especially in a more tactically adverse league compared to last season? I mean there are close to 7 new managers in the league hence the tactical difficulty
Liverpool is on a great run. Best team in Europe at the moment. I think the next three matches will tell if Arsenal has a chance at the prem or not. Might not be a bad idea to go for the carabao and FA cup
Dont you think its too much changes in our starting eleven this season? We adapted so much to difficult situations that its started to get weird to control matches again Looking at our back four one day you have calafiori then timber, on the other side its whita another is partey then one day timber We have to give more credit to Mikel Arteta the guy is too hard on himself
Alex, you're a clown for "the context" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I enjoy and literally watch your videos as soon as they pop up on my homepage. KIP!!! ...(presses play again)
it is so obvious what the problem is, and maybe it continue to be for some time. Outside the Odegaard injury. It was also confirmed this week. I need to start recording football videos :D
The problem with liverpool is salah; he is literally their lifeline and powerhouse to get over the line for games. For city, they are definitely affected by loss of rodri. If only that happened last season, would have been sure we won it. That is how influential rodri has been for them and yes you could say he was for several months but imagine being out for nearly nearly 85% of the league which is what we are seeing now that is just a massive boost for liverpool's title run.
Hi Alex 👋, I hope all is good 👋 👦 ☺️ 👍 😊 🙏. I agree with you Alex about Arsenal being Premier League title rivals. I hope the international break will help the Gunners rest and recuperate and comeback fighting and win 🏆 every match God willing. Have a great day Alex 😂and I will buy you a coffee ☕️ when I move to London. COYG to thrash Nottingham Forest God willing. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.
As far as i am concerned arsenal are fine ,my problem is only when we play smaller teams, but we ve not lost a single game against the big gund yet, but we will need a striker to aid our efforts, hervatz is cool, jesus dribbles too much he needs to pay more attention on his finishing ratjer than his dribbles. We need to get florien wirtz to add to odegaard & nwaneri. Losing odegaad was definitely a strong factor. If odegaad had played against city, we wouldn't have gone a man down.
I have a feeling that when we comeback, the next time we'll drop points could be in March. December, January, and February are all going to be WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
We can 100% win it from this position there is still 27 games left and Liverpool will drop points, man city ain't looking 100% ATM but it's the premier league! Anything can happen!! Com'n you ARSENAL
Also our lack of consistent possession in big games is concerning. Why can't we sustain 10-15 minutes of possession? If we played like the last 10 minutes against Chelsea we would have created more chances and won. I don't get why we can't control games better
For a data guy, I'm surprised you're ignoring the fact that GM10 is usually an indicator of where you will end the season. Obviously 3 games were with red cards so it will be skewed but I really haven't seen anything to suggest we'll win the league.
Regarding the idea of giving up on the league already, I think it comes down to Liverpool. Are they legit, or will they experience a regression to the mean at some point this season? You mentioned the relative difficulty of schedule, which would suggest they’ll likely slow down a bit. Additionally, points per result for Liverpool through 11 games extrapolated to the rest of the season would put them on about 96 points, so they probably aren’t going to be THIS red hot for the entire season. However, the longer they perform at a high level, the more we’ll have to accept that they might actually be as good as they’ve looked. In that case, Arsenal will have to do something nearly impossible to catch them. Only time will tell the answer to the Liverpool question. Regarding City, they need to find a remedy to Rodri’s absence fast if they want a chance. He’s proven to be too integral to their current system to simply rotate a player in. They know Rodri’s going to be out for the rest of the season. They’ve got a fantastic squad, so you’d think there’s a new system in there somewhere that still produces wins, but even for Pep that’s a hard puzzle to solve. I find the likelihood that Liverpool already have the quality to win the league greater than the likelihood of City solving their puzzle with enough fixtures left to catch up.
Away from our competitors for a moment, I understand they will drop points. As you were saying, there’s perhaps only 10 points to be dropped from now, you don’t think that’s near impossible? Don’t get me wrong, I understand there is hope and it is still possible. BUT only dropping 10 points for the remainder of the season seems like an impossible task, no?
I've watched every Arsenal TH-camr underestimate the value Ode brings to this team. We've given every reason in the book except realizing ode is as valuable to us as Rodri is to city. You can't just "find a solution to the Ode problem." I think we fail to distinguish the "best player" from the "Most important player" and this is the effect. Saka is our best player, we've come to see him as our most important player but since Ode stepped foot in this team i've been saying he is the most important player we have and dare I say top 3 in the league. I really thought you or James B would've seen that and made a video about it but I got everything else but. Curious why.
3 red cards dropped 7 points there the disallowed goal against Liverpool another 2 the only performance that concerns me is the one at St James Park. We have players returning so we should improve. However we need to reinforce in January are attack is light in all areas jesus and sterling are not a long term solution.
This year seems like the league is much more in flux. Liverpool seems like they could actually win it, or they could implode once Slot gets found out. Chelsea are better, maybe ManUtd can actually get hteir shit together, who knows. City might be doing the usual "oh no we've dropped off" farce, or they might actually have dropped off. The mid-table teams have cost us points and can do so against the other top 6 teams too. We just need to focus on us, get the squad fit and get it to gel. We have had so such an inconsistency of selection and still done relatively well
Thank god for logical people like yourself. In a world full of reactionary and panicking fans, I come here for the voice of reason. I've been trying to tell people they need to calm down and that it's not over til it's over. But as you can imagine, that immediately gets shot out of the sky.
Wasn’t Arsenal 10 points behind man utd at the 20th game week and won it by 1 point in 97/98? Ik it was way different but unexpected, unfortunate injuries might hit liverpool as well. If that happens and city recovers, they might lose the title so yh even I thought it’s liverpools to loose,I still think city can win it. Us? Not sure about that but we will finish strong i think.
Our competitors will definitely drop points. These are humans, not machines. I do not want this to happen, let me be clear but personal issues with a player could make a difference, injuries, conflict within a squad, or with the manager. who knows. Just think, 27 league games plus I don't know how many cup and european games. Do you really think that Liverpool can maintain this? City already have their bad moment now and we have a bit of a bad moment. Other teams will aswell. Look at how Villa is all of a sudden not so fluid. Things happen.
The League is most often won by the best attack not the best defense. And our defense isn't the best right now, so what can win us the league..... Not Arteta's tactics
Although it’s delusional to think winning the league is still possible, I don’t see how that’s relevant. We still have to put up our best performances and make sure we can get into top 4 and ideally 2nd.
That point about the league being more difficult. As much as I love the legendary invincible team, I don't remember Pires or Ljungberg being double and sometimes triple marked as much as Saka and Martinelli get marked.
I see your point mate, but mathemathically we can also still win with 4 games left with 9 pts gap. But it's not that simple. Let me put it by twisting your words... even with 0 games played, we can actually rule out Southhampton. Why? Experience + Statistics. We know who the big boys are most of the time Towards the end of your vid, you said it yourself, we need 90 pts, or 71 pts from the rest of the games, at least. Meaning at minimum 22 - 24 Wins over 27 games with very delicate number of draws.. Can you imagine?
We don't have enough goalscorers to win major trophies. You think havertz is gonna magically start banging in goals all of a sudden? Martinelli gonna start terrorize defenders all of a sudden? Nah alex you're in cuckooland. We ain't winning any major trophies until we sign some clinical finishers. You can defend all you want but to win matches, you need to score, which clearly this team struggles with. Liverpool have a front 3 which strikes fear into the opposition players. City will start banging in goals once their injured players come back after this break. Also some of our crucial players are suffering from injury & fatigue this season bcoz Arteta kept on playing them game after game without a break or taking them off even when we were 4-0,5-0,etc, last season. Not even a dubai trip can save us this season😂😭
The question is can City catch up with Liverpool, if people think they can, well we are only 4 points behind City..... well it's never over until it's mathematically over

We don’t have enough goals in us. It has been a problem and it remains a problem.
I think our biggest problem was Odegaard not playing
thanks alex for helping arsenal fans from being emotionally charged and giving up this early without analyzing the facts...and yeah you are right liverpool are nowhere near where people conceive them to be, their crisis is on the way they are going to slump down the table...and well about city let's thank god rodri got injured...this year bar any nightmarish spells for arsenal-we are winning 2 or more silverware this year🎉
Simon Collins of the Evening Standard, he made the "Win the Dog" joke.
😂😂😂
I have a friend at work who hates it when I talk data. She watches football and just goes on eyes and 'feel' and I guess punditry. She thinks Havertz is awful and criticises him every week. She thinks we are back to the banter days and have zero chance of recovery. Thanks for keeping me grounded and realistic.
Welcome back toooooooo!
This is one of those episodes that you'll look at in hind sight. I'm less than four minutes in.
Wasn't there a few years under Wenger when we were winless in Novembe as well?
Ngl when I first saw the video I though it was a video about he who must not be named 😅
It’s not too late for us to put Jonjo Selvey up front. If Harry Potter doesn’t get him first
It’s going to be a helluva title race.
Liverpool is on a great run. Best team in Europe at the moment. I think the next three matches will tell if Arsenal has a chance at the prem or not. Might not be a bad idea to go for the carabao and FA cup
Dont you think its too much changes in our starting eleven this season? We adapted so much to difficult situations that its started to get weird to control matches again
Looking at our back four one day you have calafiori then timber, on the other side its whita another is partey then one day timber
We have to give more credit to Mikel Arteta the guy is too hard on himself
40sec ago? We're so in 💪
Alex, you're a clown for "the context" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I enjoy and literally watch your videos as soon as they pop up on my homepage. KIP!!! ...(presses play again)
❤ from Sri Lanka
it is so obvious what the problem is, and maybe it continue to be for some time.
Whether it is 81 or 91 points, we wanna see Arsenal at the top of the table after 38 games.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I really like Arteta and I so want him to win something soon, but I just do not see us catching Liverpool now.
Awwwww sing for us, Alex! 😂
Dont sing whatever the weather if you dont mean it!! COYG
We can 100% win it from this position there is still 27 games left and Liverpool will drop points, man city ain't looking 100% ATM but it's the premier league! Anything can happen!! Com'n you ARSENAL
I'll 100% bet you £20k that Arsenal don't win the league this season...
I love your optimism, I only believe when they win it, till then forget about it and let’s start next year.
Arteta sceptics isn't it, he's an awesome blaok. We're sceptical of his tactics. The way he uses fullbacks, the over commitment to defending.
We can win!!
@diffknock what’s your take on the draw with chelsea?
Boom!
1:02 im not an arteta sceptic i just know that arsenal cant magically get 9 points to tie with liverpool
shhh... apparently if you criticize this team, then you're an Arteta sceptic according to alex. 😏
❤❤❤❤
PR machine
Ludicrous to think that Arsenal's title chance is over. And I'm a Liverpool fan.
❤
We are going to win the league
We need a trip to Dubai … that’ll fix our problems 😂😂😂
Can’t understand why everyone is freaking out cause we’ve lost 2 games. Still a long way to go.
The League is most often won by the best attack not the best defense. And our defense isn't the best right now, so what can win us the league..... Not Arteta's tactics
thith thtat explainth arthenalth thlump is so funny hahhaha
Just a minute in but I bet you made this before White’s surgery announcement
Although it’s delusional to think winning the league is still possible, I don’t see how that’s relevant. We still have to put up our best performances and make sure we can get into top 4 and ideally 2nd.
✊👊🙌💯💜
Ben White has been playing with an injury. The guy hasn't recovered. I said this so many times
That point about the league being more difficult. As much as I love the legendary invincible team, I don't remember Pires or Ljungberg being double and sometimes triple marked as much as Saka and Martinelli get marked.
why the thumbnail look like mikel is the lisan al ghaib
I see your point mate, but mathemathically we can also still win with 4 games left with 9 pts gap. But it's not that simple.
Let me put it by twisting your words... even with 0 games played, we can actually rule out Southhampton. Why? Experience + Statistics. We know who the big boys are most of the time
Towards the end of your vid, you said it yourself, we need 90 pts, or 71 pts from the rest of the games, at least. Meaning at minimum 22 - 24 Wins over 27 games with very delicate number of draws.. Can you imagine?
Liverpool ain't celebrating winning the league yet.
Blah, blah... Blah.
Is that a tooth I see missing? What happened? Hope you’re alright.
The question is can City catch up with Liverpool, if people think they can, well we are only 4 points behind City..... well it's never over until it's mathematically over
