Love the trousers and they really suit you with the top tucked in. Enjoy your lovely figure. When you’re older and everything is going south, you’ll look back and wish you’d realised how fabulous you looked when you were young!
Love the cat quilt! Hopefully you'll continue to share your quilts! All of your makes turned out fabulous! I've made the Love Notions tee & would definitely make another.
Your t shirt is beautiful and some lucky cat is going to love curling up on that gorgous quilt. Your trousers are great on you and we are always critical of ourselves as no one else can see what you feel is there. Sometimes when we make things that we are not 100% sure of, it’s worth trying to style it in different ways and see if you can find a way of making it work for you. Lovely makes as always x
Winnie-the-Pooh is so proud of you for tackling a pair of pants! We know how much you love your jeans. Of course, you must be comfortable, but from the pictures, I think the black shirt tucked in, was very flattering. Your cat quilts for charities is very inspirational. I'd like to find a charity in my area. I'll have to explore the possibilities. Thanks Michelle!
Love all your makes. Perhaps it is the colour of the dress that isn’t making you feel 100% with it. I’ve made a few dresses where I’m comfortable but not 100% sure either. I still wear them but when I’m working from home and not going out. BTW you always make sense to me when you explain things. Great blog thank you. ❤
The trousers turned out great and fit you really well. The cat quilt is very cute, especially for this time of year. As far as the green dress, in my opinion the skirt length makes it feel a bit matronly. Just above or slightly higher, would give it a younger feel. Pin it up several inches and see what you think.Love your videos.XX
I love the green dress and it looks fab on you. Maybe just cos you are not used to wearing similar- deffo give it a chance after all your hard work. Fit looks great.
Hello Michelle. I love all your makes especially the trousers and the Love Notions Laundry Day 'T', I reckon Love Notions patterns are great. I love 'The Cats Whiskers' label too, I wish we who missed out on the Beyond the Pink Door Advent calendar could get our 'paws' on them. I did get your Butterick pattern too, so I will PM you through Facebook. I hope you enjoyed your sewing retreat on the weekend, I look forward to hearing all about it in your next vlog. Love to Bentley and Misty xxxx
A belt perhaps, for your jersey dress? Looks just fine, a good workwear type dress, but break it up with a thin black belt ? Give it a go, see if you like it better.
Michelle, the cat quilt is beautiful! I love the colors you used. The trousers look like a great pattern. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Love the cat quilts. I am working on a twin size quilt now, my fourth. I do quilting in between sewing garments as it uses other parts of my brain. I have made the laundry day dress, but I needed to make the armsyes a little bigger to fit better. I do like the pattern. Nice makes.
The laundry day tee came out so cute. I have the pattern and it's on my list.Your gray pants look super chic and definitely you can tuck in and look beautiful Michelle. I don't think I will buy the whole book at this point but I really like the way they look and seem fairly easy to sew. xx Karen
Hi Michelle, I actually think that everything you made was really beautiful, your choice of fabric was lovely and everything fitted really well. The lap quilt is beautiful and the colours of the fabric, went together so well, really nice. Looking forward to seeing what you make at the end of February. Have a lovely weekend. 💞💞💞
Love your new quilt. I must try the laundry day Tee I had the pattern for a long time. Your version is gorgeous. Sometimes we have to wear new styles for a while because it feel strange/different from our usual. 🙏❤️💙💚
All of your makes are so cute! Your quilt is so bright and cheery! I really like the green dress. It looks perfect for work - a little more ‘business casual’. Not as much of a fun, light-hearted dress as some of your others. I like Love Notions patterns, and the Laundry Day Tee is great. I like that their patterns come with a regular or full bust option. I’ve made the Tee a couple of times, and I want to try the dress version.
Hello Michelle, your quilt is so beautiful, I don't make quilts but love seeing the ones you make. Your dress looks gorgeous and the colour suits you. Love your saying Hip Dips. Have a good week. 😍
I stitch in the ditch at the front and back seams on my derwents (through the ditch into the elastic) to stop it popping outwards when washing and wearing. Love your grey ones!
Oh, that quilt is absolutely beautiful. I love the colors 😊. We call your hip dips “love handles” here in the states and I didn’t see any dips and even if I did you’re beautiful 😊. I agree with Kathy Evans suggestion of a belt for your jersey dress. Love the cat t-shirt. It’s so you😊! Hope you’re having fun at your retreat. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤
Hi Michele - I ordered and have just received the ‘ Sewing with Knitted Fabrics’ book after I’d seen your Derwent wide leg trousers - thanks so much it’s a great book with lots of useful information and patterns and reduced in price even better from Amazon 👏👏
Love your cat Quilt and that’s such a really nice idea. I think I will try and rotate that into my sewing routine. I have that book and haven’t tried anything from it yet but really want to. Nice job on the pants.
Lovely makes Michelle. I loved the tee shirt in big cats fabric ❤ Derwent trousers look smart and comfy. I wonder what your green dress would look like worn with a belt? The cats red patchwork quilt looks gorgeous! ❤ Hope you've enjoyed your sewing weekend. x
I love the green dress! Try a half slip under it. That may help the skirt flare a bit and not cling to your tights. And maybe try a belt with it. Play around with the styling, and you may come to love it. I made the LDT as a winter dress with long sleeves and a cowl neck. It's great when i want to eat a lot and still be comfortable. 😀 BTW, I love your videos.
I love the laundry day tee u made, I've got this pattern but not yet made it, but now I've seen how lovely yrs is I'm going to make it. I also fancy trying those trousers u made too as they equally look lovely x
I love your makes. You have inspired me to try the trousers. I think it’s the neckline on the dress that needs to be a little lower. But it looks good on you
Michelle: I have not quilted before, but I am so wanting to make a small quilt like yours. I wonder if you would be able to do a short sew along on how you did your lovely cat lap quilt? Just on how you quilted it, and how you did your binding, how much larger your backing and what size your strips were for the binding. I want to do something besides garment sewing as I have way too many clothes now. By the way-I love your channel soooooooooooooooo much!🥰
I have made the laundry day T-shirt a few times and I love the pattern. I have used different fabrics for each one and love them all. So comfy to wear. I might have to have a look at the trouser pattern though. I have tried a few trouser patterns and haven’t made one yet that I can actually wear. 🤞 for this one.
Have you tried really full briefs? 1950s style. Up to the waist. It can help smooth everything out. You can make them yourself and use lovely fabric. Don’t have a pattern reference offhand. I think Gertie Sews might have one.
Like the trousers and yes tucked in does suit you, the waistband looks interesting I might have to look into getting the book. I just finished the LN Laundry Day Dress as well and love it, my fabric has a little more drape & I'm surprise I like it really but will be making more
I’ve made the Love Notions Laundry Day Tee many times, it’s a great pattern! As you mentioned, lots of choices and very versatile. It’s my go to for a quick top or dress. It’s also good for a nightgown! I’ve used different knits, my favorite is double brushed poly, I know some don’t care for it but I think it’s cozy.
Hi Michelle, Where to start ? Such lovely things 😊 The red quilt is just beautiful. I just love your extended length hoodie, the fabric is so pretty and looks really good on you. I hadn’t seen the Laundry day pattern before and I think I’ll be getting that, perfect for summer. Your big cat grey version is a real smasher. Hope you enjoyed your weekend away and thank you for taking the time to make this video. Love to the puds 😸
I think the dress is nice. Definitely wearable. The combination of the oversized fit at the waist and dark fabric I think is a bit strong for your colouring and shape. I think it would look great in a lighter fabric and maybe just slightly more fitted at the waist. The Laundry Day Tee looks great and I agree that it would really suit viscose jersey. Loved the cat quilt also. Hope you're having a fab time this weekend. 😊
I love the idea of the trousers. I have made some wide leg trousers from a ponte and they look horrible. I might just take out the pleats and put a seam down the front like the winnie pants. As I said on Instagram, you've inspired me to try the ldt with a cotton jersey
The trousers look fab on you, your legs look so long and wow! I would wear your tops however you feel comfortable . I like the green dress on you the sheen on the fabric makes it look expensive. You could try it with a black belt . For the neckbands instead of struggling to pull on why not make a small opening at the neckline and use a fabric rouleaux loop and button to fasten. I like your cat tunic.I think it would look lovely as a dress in a black viscose . Love your cat quilts.
I didn't get on with the Laundry Day Tee. It was too tight across the upper chest and I wondered if I should have used the full bust piece, even though my measurements didn't indicate I needed to. I had to keep pulling it down as it was riding up all the time. I read that many people had the same issue. I thought I may have cut the sleeveless line, but I hadn't. It could have been that the fabric didn't have the required stretch, but it just put me off, and I have similar patterns that I can use. I made a dress a couple of years ago that I wasn't sure about. Someone suggested making it shorter so I made it just below knee length and much preferred it. Although I have now shortened it even further and made a tunic and I have had a lot more wear out of it (wish I could get on with dresses, but I guess I'm just a trouser girl at heart!).
Hi Michelle, I think your green dress is great. I love the way the skirt falls & the sleeves. If you aren’t happy with it, could it be the neck because it’s quite high & perhaps a Vneck would look better? Only a suggestion. Enjoy your week.
Love all the makes. Especially the pants. I am wondering if the sleeves on the green dress are too long compared to your usual preference I am always surprised at the difference sleeve length gives to a garment.
Dear Michelle, I really think the jerseydress fits you very well. The pattern is lovely and you are looking very elegant if you wear this dress. Maybe the colors : a dark green ( it looks that way in the video) combined with black are not the best colors. These colors are okay. But lighter and warmer colors can do much more for your typ. Please ,if you like these colors so wear the garment . It hasn't to be always perfect💯. For an example: I am a true winter. Cool , dark and bright colors are the best colors for me. I shouldn't wear warm colors to my face, but rarely I make an exception if I like it. Usually there are always exceptions. ☺😊
Beautiful makes! With the Jersey day dress I wonder whether the bodice is a tad longer than your natural waist, depends whether you like to go in at your waist. It still looks lovely though.
Hip dips are indeed a thing and they are physiological features that occur whether one is thin or thick. It's genetic and can only be combatted by shapewear lol. I think the green dress would benefit from a long necklace to break up the print on the bodice. With the full sleeves and skirt there might be a little too much "sameness" if you know what I mean.
I have purchased a charm pack of 5' fabric squares and I wondered if you followed a sewalong tutorial for your lovely quilt. Any suggestions would be so welcome. Thank you.
I did the same and now just have to learn to do a quilt binding. Will look forward to your next sew along whatever that may be. My little lap quilt is far from perfect but it was great fun.@@SewingBunny
Someone said to try the green with a belt and I think it is a great idea. What do you think about it being shorter? I'm so glad you went for the green. Very adventurous. Favorite was the cat tee. The pants looked great with the blouse tucked in..I thought. But you have to be comfortable.... Thanks so much for sharing..
Your trousers and cat turned out beautiful and you really suited them. I think the dress just seemed a bit too dark for your colouring, and perhaps the length was a bit too long, apart from that, it is totally wearable, especially for work.
I have made one with cat fabric that I have for my own cats 😻 the ones I make for the charity are mainly my left over fat quarters that have in my stash. If I do have cat fabric then I would use it as that would be very cute xx
Love the trousers and they really suit you with the top tucked in. Enjoy your lovely figure. When you’re older and everything is going south, you’ll look back and wish you’d realised how fabulous you looked when you were young!
Aww bless you thank you xx
Love the cat quilt! Hopefully you'll continue to share your quilts!
All of your makes turned out fabulous! I've made the Love Notions tee & would definitely make another.
The cat top was adorable! Aren’t you happy to be healed and sewing again? I know I am! 🤗❤️ ~Nancy
Yes very happy! 😁❤️

I have the book with the derwent trousers too. It was gifted to me. I’ll have to take a look. Your trousers look great 😊
The quilt is beautiful and so kind of you to make for charities.
I always love to see the two beautiful cats.
Thank you 😻

Belt the dress with a dark brown belt and/or add a 20 or 22 inch necklace in a complimentary color. See if you like it better that way???

That’s great 👍❤️

Thank you! If I hadn’t seen your derwents I may if missed this pattern so thank you for your videos sharing them xx
Pretty colors. I’m a garment sewist and a quilt maker. Great job. 😊

I love the laundry day tee u made, I've got this pattern but not yet made it, but now I've seen how lovely yrs is I'm going to make it. I also fancy trying those trousers u made too as they equally look lovely x

Yes I love the Tshirt and I must make more 😁
I think the green dress looks lovely on you - and your other makes look great too. Glad to hear your wrist is better xx
Thank you so much! 🥰
Beautiful trousers 😊
Thank you! 😊
I think the green jersey dress looks gorgeous in you. The only thing I would change is raise the waist slightly. Otherwise it’s fabulous!
Just what I was thinking😊
Thank you! Yes I think I will make some changes to the green dress x
Hi Michelle, Where to start ? Such lovely things 😊 The red quilt is just beautiful. I just love your extended length hoodie, the fabric is so pretty and looks really good on you. The Laundry Day Tee looks great and I agree that it would really suit viscose jersey. Loved the cat quilt also. Hope you're having a fab time this weekend. 😊
Thank you Eileen! I think I’ll make the green dress a little more fitted with a belt and also shorten the skirt a little too x
I love the idea of the trousers. I have made some wide leg trousers from a ponte and they look horrible. I might just take out the pleats and put a seam down the front like the winnie pants. As I said on Instagram, you've inspired me to try the ldt with a cotton jersey

The dress looks fab, Michelle. I think it suits you nicely!
Thank you x
I think the dress looks beautiful on you!!! I like the tunic t-shirt, too!
Thank you!! 🤩
Thanks for sharing Michelle. 💙🧶🌈🍓
Thanks for watching! X
I love the dress on you!
Thank you!!
Love everything mate especially the Derwent trousers
👍
Hi Michelle huge congratulations on reaching your 10000 followers🎉
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Great T ❤❤❤
The trousers look fab on you, your legs look so long and wow! I would wear your tops however you feel comfortable . I like the green dress on you the sheen on the fabric makes it look expensive. You could try it with a black belt . For the neckbands instead of struggling to pull on why not make a small opening at the neckline and use a fabric rouleaux loop and button to fasten. I like your cat tunic.I think it would look lovely as a dress in a black viscose . Love your cat quilts.
Thank you so much ☺️
Lovely makes.

Thank you! Yes I think I will shorted the dress as I think that will help 😁
Hi Michelle, I think your green dress is great. I love the way the skirt falls & the sleeves.
If you aren’t happy with it, could it be the neck because it’s quite high & perhaps a Vneck would look better? Only a suggestion. Enjoy your week.
Thank you for your message, I think I will adjust the green dress slightly maybe shortening the skirt a little x
Love all the makes. Especially the pants. I am wondering if the sleeves on the green dress are too long compared to your usual preference
I am always surprised at the difference sleeve length gives to a garment.
Ohh maybe that’s it, I’m going to try a few things and see how I feel about it x
Dear Michelle,
I really think the jerseydress fits you very well.
Thank you so much ❤️
Michelle, where did you find the wide elastic for your trousers? I’m struggling to source any 🙄😊
I got mine from Amazon amzn.to/49mJdhW
Thanks Michelle - I was so surprised that my usual haberdashery suppliers didn’t have it!
I’ll go to the evil Amazon 🙄🤣
Have you tried your green dress with a thin belt? It looks lovely but I think a little belt would give it a lift. Just an idea.
I think that’s a great idea to try with a belt 😁
Beautiful makes! With the Jersey day dress I wonder whether the bodice is a tad longer than your natural waist, depends whether you like to go in at your waist. It still looks lovely though.
Thank you yes I think I will adjust the green dress to see if I can make it a bit better on me x
Oh good to know 👍
❤
I have purchased a charm pack of 5' fabric squares and I wondered if you followed a sewalong tutorial for your lovely quilt. Any suggestions would be so welcome. Thank you.
I TH-camd a few videos by searching beginner quilt and found some good videos. I may do a quick video on how I do mine at some point in the future x
Love the makes!!! ❤❤❤
Yes I think k I will shorted it and try it with a belt 👍
Your trousers and cat turned out beautiful and you really suited them. I think the dress just seemed a bit too dark for your colouring, and perhaps the length was a bit too long, apart from that, it is totally wearable, especially for work.
Thank you so much 😊 yes I think I will shorten the dress 👍
I am sure you have thought of this but w😮hy don't you make a cat quilt out of a fabric with cats on it like your top you have on?
I have made one with cat fabric that I have for my own cats 😻 the ones I make for the charity are mainly my left over fat quarters that have in my stash. If I do have cat fabric then I would use it as that would be very cute xx
Think maybe dress fabric was too lightweight?
👌💖💖💖🙏😘
❤️
Your trousers and dress look lovely on you. I think the dress color may not be the best color for you.
Thank you 😁
I like the dress on you. Maybe the waist sits a bit to low on you?
Yeah I think I need to adjust it a bit more x
Your dress looks great on you Michelle
