I’ve had mine about 10 days, first DCT bike I’ve bought due to tendon issues in my left hand and wrist. It’s been a revelation. Fit and finish is excellent and I absolutely love the power, looks and how it handles.

What is your height and weight? I am 6' 220 and considering one, but worried I may not like the foot mid position. Like you, I have some issues (arthritis) and i'm late forties so it isn't getting better. The DCT is an attractive feature.

I really like this bike, the only downside why I didn't plan to get this is the tank size, it's not for long distance. That's why I am waiting for the new NT1100. Hope you review it as soon it is available. Thanks.

I'm glad it doesn't have a TFT. It certainly seems to handle. I'm not surprised it's got some shove; it's an AT 1100 engine with a beefed-up crank. I reckon you could tour on it. Sissy bar with a R9Kustom Sissy Bar Duffle Bag slotted over it.
The best Rebel 1100 video on TH-cam.

I got my Rebel 2 months ago and I love it. Once you figure out the special DCT settings in manual mode you are into a very cool and special ride. I had to add 3 clicks to the rear shock adjustment to tighten it a bit make it 6.
    The factory setting is 3.
    I'm 183lbs.

I picked up my 1100 DCT in April and absolutely love it. BTW, you don’t need to brake to get some great downshifts. You can use the paddles in auto mode anytime you’d like to quickly shift up or down. The auto mode will happily then continue it’s duties once you’ve stopped your manual shifting interlude. Enjoyed your first impressions very much. Subscribed.

@@keithsbitsandpieces Agreed! I'm hoping that Honda will drop this motor into something similar to the CB650R or CB1000R chassis. I don't know how the power/weight ratio works out compared to the inline-4's, but I think the 1100 twin will have better/lower torque for sure. Give the bike some good USD forks and a good rear damper (both fully-adjustable, of course). Adding the full lean-sensitive IMU would also be nice for wheelie control and DCT control while cornering. It would be loads of fun in the twisties! 😉👍 --QM

I find it strange that in the UK people don't greet people because of the type of bike they ride.
I live in Belgium and ride a Harley, i greet everyone braving the road on 2 wheels, and most people here do.
The only ones i find that don't wave sometimes are GS riders, but that is probably because there are so many GS's out there comparatively.

    • @AndyAdventuring

Best review I've seen of this bike, you ride it like I would. Just ordered a DCT version in burgundy red, can't wait. Coming off a 2020 Rocket 3 GT which I love but at 66 now and bad arthritis in both hands and one knee (probably from 40 odd years of riding) the DCT should be great, loved the Rocket but most of the time you can't use all that power and torque, its insane. Spec'd the bike with touring pack and mini bat wing and still got a decent wedge of change, great value and waiting impatiently for the bike.

The new Honda Rebel 1100. Great bike (powerful, looks good, good value, Honda, reliability) *_But..._*
Heres known negatives very few sellers talk about:
    - DCT: on the automatic the bike sometimes goes to the wrong gear which can be unnerving at key times. Most folk will buy the manual trans.
    - Uncomfortable for medium to long distances (the hard seat & short peg position are the problem here)
    - The suspension is very tight and so on bumpy roads you will feel every bump.
    - Chain: maintenance on this Rebel chain will be a pain, especially without a center stand.
    SO -
If you are small/short the Honda Rebel 1100cc may work in manual transmission.

I owned a Rebel 300. I like the way it rode/handled, but the single cylinder vibrated like one of those paint machines at the hardware store. At lower rpms, it was fine, but wind it up on back country roads for 30 minutes and my hands, feet and privates were all numb. The seat was also horrible. I hope they upgraded that. I didn't mind the lower hp at all. (25hp?) But the vibrations were so bad, it had to go. But I learned to ride on it, so it served it's purpose. It also taught me I wasn't a cruiser guy. I wanted to try the Honda CB500X but none in stock. Went with a Kawasaki Versys 650. Rather top heavy, but smooth as can be.

I've got some time on one of these tomorrow. This is actually the first of your videos I've seen. You made me chuckle referring to the friendly hand on the buttocks. Nicely edited video by the way sir. Subscribe button has been tapped, cup of tea made. Now to watch the remainder of the review 👍

I’d have to get the touring pack with it, no good without a windshield at motorway speeds and I like to go on adventures with luggage too so the side panniers would be good, do you know if a sisy bar would fit on it? These types of bikes can’t get back boxes

Possibly a replacement for HD Sportster now they aren’t available, but I doubt they will actually get any HD converts in reality.

I’ve come from a 48 sportster Mark, clutch was too heavy as I’ve started having tendon issues in my fingers and wrist, left hand. I agree it’s similar to a sportster, more refined and more power, it’s genuinely surprised me how good it is.

Can the rebel 1100 go slow without overheating? I live in a tropical country where it records 53° heat index and I once owned a liter bike but it's tiring cause I have to go fast all the time. In the next years I'm considering the rebel 500, vulcan s and rebel 1100, and I'm a type of rider who got tired of bursts of power and just want to cruise.

It’s a beautiful bike no doubt. But, I would like to see Honda do with that engine like they did with a 500 twin. And that is to make a scrambler with that engine old school.

What a great, great, great review of a bike I normally don’t pay attention to, because I’m not into the cruiser’s. Your enthusiasm is enthusiastically! Your love for the the Honda 1100 DCT parallel platform made me want to have one too. I’m a fan of your style of reviewing. 😁👊🏻 (Sorry for my English, it’s not my first language 🤓)

I like my bike color to match my Oxfords.... I prefer the Oxblood / Burgundy paint job. 6'5" and 270 #, so I've got my clicks at 15 to 17 out of 20, depending if I'm cruising or doing more highway.

After using the DCT transmission on a bigger bike I prefer it over the manual. On a smaller bike like my CRF 250L rally obviously manual is much better but on my Africa twin the DCT helped out a lot! That bike right there is basically an Africa twin with a different frame and set up same motor and transmission pretty much with different tuning I guess 🤷👍👍

Your country lanes are beautiful. I'm in south Kansas. The roads are arrow straight and often nearly devoid of trees. I want to ride on roads like yours.

I called a couple of dealers who said all UK black dct had been allocated and would need to wait until the new year, I called Dobles who had a second hand advertised but that was sold when I called but they did have a cancelled order black dct still in the crate if I wanted it. A few calls later money in place and now waiting delivery less than 8 days later now that is service and all done over the phone and through e-mail so I saved having to go back and forth with paperwork and what a service from Doble I hope it is as good as the reviews on TH-cam, dct is no problem as I have had a 700S dct since 2013 and know how strange it can be on it's gear changes.

Just watched this again. If it was a touch cramped, you could build the seat up a couple of inches. There would be plenty of room then.
I altered the sissy bar bag reference below. You should look them up. Miles better than the Biltwell job. R9Kustom in Thailand. I am also in Thailand.

I loved my rebel1100,it was decently fast, super build quality and above all, cool as hell. Unfortunately i like to do long day long rides and not only could i not sit in the saddle for more than about 1.5 hours at a time, the pillion seat is essentially a piece of leather on a sheet of steel. My wife was nearly in tears when we rode to landsend and she took the train back home.
Ive swapped my rebel in for an nt1100 (same engine, sports tourer)
If i won the lotto id def buy another one for pub runs though

In Australia we have pesky variable speed limits within a few hundred yards of differing speed limits with strategically placed speed cameras taking in the money. So cruise control is defeated on some long trips.
