That way, he is still clicking the same buttons but now checking the whole army and production. It is muscle memory and building muscle memory and not just "oh clicking buttons-cool""

It's just a habit of his. I do a similar thing in other games where I am constantly jumping up and down, running in circles and spamming skills just because I find it more satisfying than standing still or running in a straight line from A to B.
Yes I couldn't stand it. Just watched the last minute to see what happened. It's so loud and unnecessary. Why people click orders 20 times as if it would make the unit faster? I've never understood this. All my childhood friends did this. Am I the only one who used to click only once to order units on this game? Same with StarCraft, CC, Civ.
Nothing else to do, lol. So might as well click it over and over again...even though I know it doesn't change anything. Just some random meaningless stuff I do every now and then, to perhaps express my impatience.

And if you spend time building a large army in Dark Age, you will make it to Feudal Age much later than otherwise which has a lot more bonuses than staying in Dark Age. This is why early game is mainly about rushing to Feudal, and Dark Age armies are mainly used for defense.
I managed to take on 2 bronze players as a gold3/plat1 (I dont remember exactly) on pit in a team game once where my teammate crashed or left or whatever. he managed to slow down one side enough just a bit before he left that I was able to fight em. was still tough though. I can't imagine taking on four. elephants help though
Can you make a video on the first 10 seconds of aoe4? It feels like for pros the moment they start the game, they produce villagers, move the scout, move the sheep and send villagers to two different tasks. I struggle with that and it takes me >10 seconds to get started. Of course, this is partially practice, but I still think a video explaining the order and mechanics you use would be very valuable. Especially because there's really no video like that.
You can watch Drongo's guides. He typically coach the viewer on those things a bit more. But honestly, you should just play a bit more. And come back to observe how other players do things.
You can try watching at 0.5x. He didn’t really go a lot in the first 10 seconds - he queued a villager, sent the scout North, sent the scout’s sheep back to the TC, added the scout and TC to hot key groups and then set the villager rally point to food. But he clicked like 20 times for the rally point which made it seem like a lot more was happening.
Can you (or someone) explain to me the 390 apm while scouting? Is something happening that I do not understand or is it to keep the rhythm of actions to be able to act if necessary?

Please answer two questions: 1 - Are buildings in AoE 4 not used as 'walls'? Like they are used in AoE 2... 2 - In AoE 4, can all forests be traversed? Are forests used as walls in AoE 4?
Next time is pretty simple tho.... 4 doing feudal rush, game finished. No matter how pro you are, how fast your apm is, you cant do anything without army and eco. He is basically winning with insane effective Apm, decision making and Eco, and all these come after 10minutes.

I cant seem to break into the gold ranks as I'll get really close but always seem to lose that next match that will push me thru. I have started with English and have watched all ur self help videos. Man I am terrible at this game and I made it to gold. You have to be on console or using a trackpad to be on Bronze. And I am like "5 minute villager idle time" "make spears against MAA and archer cause i dont have gold but all this food" in a 30 minute game bad.

Are the sheep not generated depending on the number of players? So their half of the map has 4x the sheep of your half
the max number of sheep is determined by the player number but the sheep seem to be scattered evenly around the map at least in dry arabia
