The 'Industry 2023' national industry exhibition had been held from June 21 to June 25 at the BMICH, in commemoration of the National Industry Day on June 22. The Ministry of Industries has the primary responsibility of promoting the industrial sector in Sri Lanka and the Industrial Development Board (IDB), is the premier government organization for Industrial development and promotion in the country. Considering the importance of industrial growth in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Industries and Industrial Development Board have organized “Industry 2023”, the National Industry Exhibition with the theme of “Towards export-oriented manufacturing economy” which is the largest national industrial event. The exhibition is scheduled to be held from 22nd to 25th June 2023 at the BMICH, and the Chief Guest will be the Hon.President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the event will be graced by Hon. (Dr.) Ramesh Pathirana, Minister of Plantation Industries and Minister of Industries.
A national industry week was announced by the government, which took place from June 22 to 28. The exhibition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and the Ceylon Industrial Development Board, aligning with the country's program to transition towards an export-oriented manufacturing economy.
The exhibition featured over 700 booths representing 20 industries, showcasing numerous products that had reached international standards. Through formal vocational education, school students were also given the necessary motivation to become entrepreneurs by recognizing their abilities. Furthermore, a procession of locally assembled vehicles had been scheduled to travel from Galle Face to BMICH on the evening of June 21, in conjunction with the 'Industry 2023' national industry exhibition.

" Industry 2023 " , ජාතික කර්මාන්ත ප්‍රදර්ශනය හා කර්මාන්ත විශිෂ්ටතා සම්මාන උළෙල මෙවරත් උත්කර්ෂවත් ලෙස එළඹෙන ජුනි 22, 23, 24, 25 සිව්දින පුරා කොළඹ බණ්ඩාරනායක අනුස්මරණ ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මන්ත්‍රණ ශාලා පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්විය. හදුනාගත් කර්මාන්ත ක්ෂේත්‍ර 20 කට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් මුල්කොට ගෙන පවත්වන මෙම ප්‍රදර්ශනය කර්මාන්ත කරුවන්ට කර්මාන්ත කරුවන්, කර්මාන්ත කරුවන්ට දෙස් විදෙස් ආයෝජකයන් මෙන්ම කර්මාන්ත කරුවන්ට නව දේශීය හා විදේශීය වෙළඳපොළ අවස්ථාවන් සපයාගත හැකි ආකාරයේ නිදහස් අවකාශයක් නිර්මාණය කරදෙයි. එහිදී නව වෙළඳපොළ අභියෝගයන්, නව තාක්ෂණික අභියෝගයන් මෙන්ම ප්‍රාග්ධන අභියෝගයන් ජයගත හැකි ආකාරයේ දැනුමැති සමාජ වටපිටාවක් නිර්මාණය කරදෙයි.
රාජ්‍ය, සංස්ථා, ව්‍යවස්ථාපිත ආයතන, පෞද්ගලික ආයතන, තානාපති කාර්යාල හරහා ජාත්‍යන්තර සබදතා ආදි බොහෝ ක්ෂේත්‍රයන් මෙම ප්‍රදර්ශන භූමියට එක් කිරීමට කටයුතු සැලසුම් කොට ඇති අතර එම කර්මාන්ත කරුවන්ට තෝරා ගැනීමේ ක්‍රමවේදයක් හරහා අවශ්‍ය මානව ශ්‍රම සම්පත් සොයා ගැනීමටද ප්‍රදර්ශන භූමිය තුළ අවකාශ සලසා දීම සිදුවෙයි. ප්‍රදර්ශන භූමියේ සමස්ථ ප්‍රදර්ශන කුටි ප්‍රමාණය 700කට අධික විය. ප්‍රදර්ශනය නැරඹීමට පැමිණෙන අයට දේශීය කර්මාන්තයන්හි හැඩරුව හදුනාගත හැකිවන අතර ඒ හරහා ඔවුන්ට දේශීය කර්මාන්ත ආරම්භ කිරීමට කැමැත්තක්, පරිචයක් ඇත්නම් ඒ වෙනුවෙන් මගපෙන්වීම්, තාක්ෂණික දැනුම ලබාදීම්, රාජ්‍ය හා පෞද්ගලික ආයතන සම්බන්ධ කරදීම් මෙන්ම ප්‍රාග්ධනය සපයාගත හැකි ආයතන සම්බන්ධ කර ගැනීමට මග පෙන්වීම්ද සිදුකෙරෙයි.
කර්මාන්ත ප්‍රදර්ශනයට සමගාමීව වාර්ෂිකව සැමරීමට නියමිත “ජාතික කර්මාන්ත දිනය” හඳුන්වාදීමටත් නියමිත වෙයි. එම ජාතික කර්මාන්ත දිනය නම් කිරීම හා සැමරීම ඔස්සේ සමාජයම කර්මාන්ත ආරම්භ කිරීමේ නැඹුරුවක් වෙත අභිප්‍රේරණය කිරීමට කටයුතු කෙරෙයි. ප්‍රදර්ශනයට සමගාමීව දිස්ත්‍රික්, පළාත් සහ ජාතික මට්ටමින් හොඳම කර්මාන්තකරුවන් ඇගයීමට හා ත්‍යාග ප්‍රදානය කිරීමේ කර්මාන්ත විශිෂ්ටතා සම්මාන උළෙල විස්තීර්ණ හා තරඟකාරී ඇගයීම් නිර්ණායක ඔස්සේ සංවිධානය කිරීමත් සිදුකෙරෙයි.
උත්සව අවස්ථාවේදී මෙවර Industry 2023 ජාතික කර්මාන්ත ප්‍රදර්ශනය වෙත අනුග්‍රාහකත්වය දක්වන ආයතන රැසක් සිය මූල්‍යමය දායකත්වය දැක්වෙන චෙක්පත් ලංකා කාර්මික සංවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය වෙනුවෙන් අමාත්‍යවරුන් වෙත ප්‍රදානය කිරීමද සිදුකෙරිණි. මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා ප්‍රවාහන, මහාමාර්ග සහ ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය බන්දුල ගුණවර්ධන මහතා, වැවිලි කර්මාන්ත සහ කර්මාන්ත අමාත්‍ය රමේශ් පතිරණ මහතා සහ ආරක්ෂක රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ප්‍රමිත තෙන්නකෝන් මහතා එක් වී සිටියා.
