Thank you so..much. we traveled to Colorado in 2003 on motorcycle from Michigan and traveled that same road south. I remember the beauty and excitement of the dangerous road with no guardrails. Great trip and good memories 😊
Oh this would give me anxiety and I would be hugging the centerline. Is this closed in the winter? Yikes is right!!! My luck the shoulder would give away. Thank you again for sharing. I doubt I would drive this. Beautiful it is!
I took that ride long time ago. Buddy, who was driving, was white knuckling the steering wheel and never took his eyes off the road😂 Your right Stan, Awesome highway !
Dad and I side tripped there as a boy and I've been smitten ever since. Hot Springs swimming pools there. Now that I'm old with panic attacks, I scouted out the safe route. Montrose. Believe it or not has a national airport also. Then head straight west on I 70 for the senior citizens safe route to Utah and Arizona.
Course growing up in Colorado we took many a Sunday drive in the Rockies , some those drives I hated👀 due to that steep looking view over the edges, just happy when it was over.😽
That is the most amazing thing I've ever seen 😍 had to watch it 3 times before I commented on it. I literally got goosebumps ‼️❣️ Again THANK YOU for the amazing footage ❣️
Pretty country up there, been over the million dollar highway a few times, from Durango to Ourauy, one time snow packed and slippery coming over the pass before you drop into Silverton. Enjoy them mountains, hope to see ya down the trail!
Oh one thing I noticed that you didn't mention is that it's called The Million Dollar Highway because it cost exactly $1,000,000. Can you imagine being the guy that has to plow the Highway in the winter time.
Whew! Ty! I took that road all the way to Silverton 3 yrs ago… most white knuckle drive ive been on… beartooth pass was similar in the 70s & now thats like a freeway with shoulders & guardrails..lol. My next fave it Going to the Sun Highway thru glacier. If there is another more beautiful white knuckle route in the states, i am sadly unaware of it…lol… thanks so much for the Beautiful vid! Stay safe!
Living the dream ey' Stan..tha' camera is serving you well! Clear, crisp, and a whole other level of visuals. ⭐👍👍 God is just amazing with his endless wonders of his creations! Thank him for your vision and ability to explore them! God bless your journey! Thx fur sharing your adventures, luv the waterfall and the close out harmonica 🎶. Great video...just beautiful!! Enjoy the blessings! 😊
Hi Stan beautiful town. You had me on pins and needles a couple of times and I'm not even in the van. Love the scenery the cliff are grand too but nerve racking. Be safe and Thank you. God Bless.
Stan, great video. If you ever get to Oregon the Makenzie Pass highway 242 starting at Sisters, Oregon is beautiful and quite an adventure. My husband and I drove through it a few years ago in July.
Morning Stan been such a long time miss ya pray your doing good hope you had a great 4th be safe out there and God bless hope we meet again some day thanks for the flag still have it flying since the convoy.
What a gorgeous area. So beautiful! Wouldn't want to drive it in winter lol. Snow and no rail. But i bet its super beautiful in winter too. Horseback maybe then 🤭 thank you Stan for a beauty. Have a great day and much love and Blessings. Oh here in Northern Cali one gets roads like this with beautiful scenery in mountains. Even highway 50 going to Tahoe yikes long ways down. I use to live half way up that mountain. Ugh with the fires not as lush green with beautiful healthy pine. Now they either don't put anything or not a pine! 🕊
OMG Daddy Sasnack that was scarry don't know if I could go on that road. Looked like that truck was going lil fast. Thank you for showing it God's Country🙏🏻🇺🇸💯🤗
Holy Cow That Was Cool!!!...That camera is amazing. While I'm sure it's cool being there in person, I will gladly take the ride with you on the couch. If I had to drive that road the only thing I would see is the yellow and white lines!!! And you'd have to pry my hands off the steering wheel when it was over 😂
Bravo! Spectacular. Your trip back east a year or so ago from Wasgington State (on Rt. 90?) in the truck was one of the most beautiful highway routes I had ever seen but this drive is even better. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you shared as I would not take that trip. When I was young I found a road like that around Flaming gorge with out guardrails. Did it in my VW van. What an adventure. I think now they have guardrails. My heart stopped watching this camera in action. Just wild.
This is great. Thank you for posting this video. The 360 degree camera is awesome. I drove early one morning in early October (2016). I didn't realize it had rained some the night before, and there were many icy spots from the rain that had frozen during the early morning hours. I had white knuckles all the way. I was going the same direction as you..Glad I did it, but very scary.
Thanks for taking us along on this ride that is so amazing and beautiful. I could not do this I am so afraid of highs thanks for sharing looks like you had the best 4th this is the best way to celebrate this beautiful land of the United States and freedom. I would love to do what you are doing I envy you
In July of 1998 my wife, myself and two kids traveled from Grand Junction to Durango via this road. It was full of beautiful and breathtaking views. Someday I would like to drive on this road again and stay over night in the small towns along the way.
I grew up nearby in New Mexico. I've been up and down this highway many times. It was just a Sunday drive of sightseeing for us, we would drive back home through Cortez or Durango. It would take us all day because we would find a place to hunt fossils for a couple of hours.
I moved to Ouray in 1996 until 2002. The 1st year I held the position as Deputy County Assessor. Set foot on almost every inch of the county. Left and moved to Tucson, AZ in 2002 for a much warmer climate.
I made the drive from Durango to Sliverton in 2018. It was spectacular! White knuckle driving but it’s so worth it!! I was told the there are so many avalanches that they can’t keep up with the guard rail repairs, so they just stopped replacing them. lol 😂
Hey Stan hope your doing good, this reminds me of when I was in Italy many years ago. The roads up in the mountains are very narrow and dangerous. Our tour bus had to stop to let others go by before continuing on the road. But it was a exciting vacation stay safe out there buddy 🙏🇺🇸🏔️🚙
Hi Sasnak or Kansas! If Russ on RVertv hadn’t said it when you pulled up beside him in a packing lot and he told us I wouldn’t have figured it out! Keep on traveling bro and showing good vids!😀❤️🇺🇸🚙
That is really scary Traveling down that highway and your camera sticking out the window over the cliff it looked great over the town after that you like to scare people too death lol 😂 just a bit and seeing a semi coming down that road that’s a nightmare lucky he was on the inside lane you never have a dull moment dad. 😜
Do they have Rumble strips on the white lines? Do they close this when foggy? It's beautiful. My car would be the slowest one for sure. You wouldn't want to get behind me😁😄🤗 tku
Hi Stan🙋♀️😍❤️🛻🇨🇦‼️ we went on a crazy hwy in Colorado, on our way to Dinasaur National Monument, the hwy was called Douglas Pass Rd...the hwy you are showing reminds me of that rd. Not only was the Dinosaur Monument incredible, but I also saw my first rattler in real life there...now I live in rattler country in Canada, which is similar to Arizona called Alberta Canada Badlands.
Funny story about Ouray. One evening, my husband and I were sitting by the window in a restaurant. Suddenly, a car slammed to a stop and around the front of it darted two baby bears. They darted past the window and down the side of the building. The local cops came out to round them up and reunite them with momma. Pretty soon a baby bear runs by and right behind him is an overweight cop running behind him. He gave up and headed back to his car. Now above Ouray is a pull off looking down on town. We drove up there and watched for an hour cops driving up and down the streets and two little bears running around keeping just ahead or just behind those cops. Wonder if they ever did catch them?
It seems absolutely gorgeous; You definitively must come here in Europe and cross the French/Italian/Swiss/Austrian Alps... and the neighbour Dolomites...
I was hoping you would drive the million dollar highway it's my favorite! Ouray is considered the mini Switzerland of America and was also named after chief Ouray. We like to go 4-wheeling up in that area it's gorgeous.
Geri and I took the Million Dollar Highway up from Durango, the opposite direction. We were even more impressed with the road from Durango to Silverton, the switchbacks go to 15 MPH and Geri threatened to get out and walk if it dropped to less than 15 MPH. The train ride looked scary also. Thanks for sharing.😳😳🙏🙏
Good morning Stan, hope you had a happy and blessed 4th of July. Thank you for sharing God's beautiful creation with us. At Tucson ,Az. There is a road that leads to a place called Mt.Lemon at the top of the mountain. The road was 27 mi. from the base to the top of the mountain. It is about 24 mi. now. There is also a road in eastern Washington State that runs through a national forest, cross the Columbia River,by fairy, and in a half mile you start up a cliff in witch drive about 5mi to go about 500ft
Stan....little story on the guard rails and and accidents dropped. ....up in the northeast I think it was Pittsburgh, Pa. the city had a stretch of road maybe 2-3 or 5-6 miles I forget but they had accidents after accidents on this road and they needed to add bicycle paths so city council and arguing back and fourth until a group known Nationally advocate for cycling told them to just make the lanes NARROWER with paint. They did it like what roads you and I dove on years ago....8-1/2' wide. .......guess what the accident rates nearly to completely disappear. People knew they had no margin of error anymore. I have always believed this for several years with our highways getting wider and wider with everyone having cell phones now is why I see more and more truck, car, motorcycle accidents today....even further on REDLIGHTS today all 4 directions are red for 1 to 2 seconds.....giving that one person a thought I have this red light under control so they accelerate thru.....until 2 people try to do this....crash...... When I was young, people didn't do this when 2 side's turned RED YOU KNEW the other 2 lights were GREEN...NO margin for error. Great video Stan....been wanting to get thru that area for years......I hope you ride the train up to Silverton from Durango. Safe traveling
I love that 360 camera
Thank you so..much. we traveled to Colorado in 2003 on motorcycle from Michigan and traveled that same road south. I remember the beauty and excitement of the dangerous road with no guardrails. Great trip and good memories 😊
Good morning Stan. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing this ride.
Hey Stan. Thanks for bringing back some really neat memories from 50 years ago.
W o w ! The thrill, beauty, plus your driving skills while managing cameras Stan, O M G! Thank you so much🥰♥️
GOOD MORNING SASNAK MAN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL RIDE WOW !! GODS WORK IS BEAUTIFUL !! ENJOY STAY SAFE ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Oh this would give me anxiety and I would be hugging the centerline. Is this closed in the winter? Yikes is right!!! My luck the shoulder would give away. Thank you again for sharing. I doubt I would drive this. Beautiful it is!
Absolutely spectacular Stan!!! Thank you!!!
Absolutely beautiful breathtaking scenery Stan. God's country just gets better when seeing it through your eyes. Take care, be safe 🙏💞🇺🇸
I took that ride long time ago. Buddy, who was driving, was white knuckling the steering wheel and never took his eyes off the road😂 Your right Stan, Awesome highway !
Took that road from Durango to Silverton 5 years ago. Absolutely beautiful.
I like this drive with you behind the camera. Cliffs no way for me & height to hard to breathe. So I'll just watch this for now.
Course growing up in Colorado we took many a Sunday drive in the Rockies , some those drives I hated👀 due to that steep looking view over the edges, just happy when it was over.😽
That was awesome. We will most definitely have to take that route on our trip. Thanks Stan
I have to agree with you. The most beautiful scenery I have ever or will see in my life time. Thank you. Love the 360 camera
That is the most amazing thing I've ever seen 😍 had to watch it 3 times before I commented on it. I literally got goosebumps ‼️❣️ Again THANK YOU for the amazing footage ❣️
TY Stan, that was spectacular!
I love the drive on 550 in Colorado.. Last time I drove south bound was last year,
Pretty country up there, been over the million dollar highway a few times, from Durango to Ourauy, one time snow packed and slippery coming over the pass before you drop into Silverton. Enjoy them mountains, hope to see ya down the trail!
Yay, my area, done tons of fishing and peak climbing in that area. 😁👍 Did you get a chance to check out box canyon falls?
Oh one thing I noticed that you didn't mention is that it's called The Million Dollar Highway because it cost exactly $1,000,000. Can you imagine being the guy that has to plow the Highway in the winter time.
Hey Sas, you are in my neck of the woods. Be very careful up there. The big long turn at the bottom of the mountain is called Chattanooga Pass.
God or guard rails - LOL - LOL = LOL love it!
How beautiful thanks Stan for the ride. God is good all the time.🌏🏞🌄🇺🇸🌠✝️
Beautiful Scenery! Love that camera cool feature
Good morning sir SALUTE 🇺🇸 beautiful place for true...thanks a million...wow!.. happy 4th holiday 🎆🇺🇸✝️❤️
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful view. Man, don't know if I could drive it myself...
That is a beautiful road. Thank you so much for bringing us along.

Great scenery and camera work.
Wonderful thanks💫😽🌿
Beautiful! Im not convinced about the toll trail of a man taking a chisel and taking out mountains. More like dynamite 😂
Glad you shared as I would not take that trip. When I was young I found a road like that around Flaming gorge with out guardrails. Did it in my VW van. What an adventure. I think now they have guardrails. My heart stopped watching this camera in action. Just wild.

imagine driving the pete with a 53 ft trailer down thru there, wow!!!.this place is on my bucket list.
It is beautiful!!!!
Just took this drive last week from Durango, I'll never forget it
Great video, love the view and that camera is sick! I hope you're doing well in your life, Stan. God bless, greetings from Finland. 🇫🇮
Interesting drive you need to do Independence Pass but you have to go to Aspen for that one.
Beautiful❤

Great driving video
Rode that just last week on motorcycles. Buddy was freaked out. Missing guard rails is to allow snow plowing.
That is really scary Traveling down that highway and your camera sticking out the window over the cliff it looked great over the town after that you like to scare people too death lol 😂 just a bit and seeing a semi coming down that road that’s a nightmare lucky he was on the inside lane you never have a dull moment dad. 😜
The most dangerous thing is being crowded into the cliffside rocks by oncoming drivers crossing the centerline, to get away from the canyon side.
Wolf creek pass is good to.
Awesome road mate
Yeah that made me white knuckle my beer lol
Do they have Rumble strips on the white lines? Do they close this when foggy? It's beautiful. My car would be the slowest one for sure. You wouldn't want to get behind me😁😄🤗 tku

The alternate road into Sedona is nearly this crazy... id have to drive both to be a real judge
Thanks Stan.
Try HWY 12 and 24 between Bryce NP and Arches NP. The Hogback.
You gather the most beautiful scenery footage, your cameras are amazing. What GoPro do you have, it’s awesome.💎
Kool !
I've been on that drive💞
You need to drive phantom canyon road hey 67 it was originally a narrow gauge rr between canyon city and cripple creek
Imagine way back in the day coming up on that with a horse and buggy, trying to figure out how to get across it.
B R E A T H T A K I N G!
I think I'll just follow your journey. There is no way I could drive or ride that highway.
Beautiful country but the ride looks scary.
I would love driving that , my wife would be on the floor boards. Would you take your bus on that highway ?
Absolutely. I took my semi down this road
Rode the narrow gauge railroad to Silverton
Stan....little story on the guard rails and and accidents dropped.

Well! I can probably say the ( whiskey bents on vehicles are at minimum! At least one side of the road!
