Doc STRONGER THAN THE CYCLOPES (2024)

Born in Tirana in 1951, Fatos Lubonja is an Albanian writer and intellectual.
His father Todi, director of the Albanian Radio and Television, was arrested in 1973 by Enver Hoxha's regime, accused of being a liberal.
Imprisoned in 1974, during the investigation against his father (when the police found his hidden writings critical of the regime), he remained in prison for 17 years.
Freed after the collapse of the dictatorship, from 1991 to 1993 he was Secretary of the Human Rights Forum in the Albanian Helsinki Committee.
In 2002 he was awarded the Moravia Prize for his work in Rome.
Since 2003 he lives between Tirana and Calci, a small town in Tuscany.
