Whether he went to Tokyo or not, Mo is an absolute beast as well as one of the GOATs of international sports history (along with Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kenenisa Bekele, Abebe Bikila, Eliud Kipchoge, Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt and, IMHO, Alberto Juantorena-I know he isn't the first runner to come in your mind, but winning gold in the 400/800 double is absolutely INSANE) . This will never, ever change.
He had been dealing with a slight ankle injury which affected his cardio and time on track buildup. I think he will qualify. He said even w five to go, he thought he’s make the time.

A few surprises in this race. Amdouni, Mayo, Abdi all ran pretty well as expected. For the Brits Marc Scott looked pretty ordinary after all the fast times he's been posting in the USA. The Legend 27:50 after some niggles. Great stuff for a man of 38, but he can do better. Emile Cairess was the revelation! And only an idiot would think of running a 2:11 marathon that he knows doesn't count 5 weeks before the 10,000 trials.

38 yrs old. And what’s w his doing a reality tv show over the winter in some castle for 18 days getting only one small meal a day and having to do physical work. Paid a ton but didn’t seem good for Olympic training. I think he has less than 3 weeks to make time
