As a current college student, this was really inspirational. I have been considering transferring schools or even taking a semester off to work and explore who I am as a person. It’s comforting to know and be reassured of the fact that there isn’t just one right path to take through life. Lately it seems like I’m so caught up in my schoolwork and my grades that I forget who I am as a person. I forget to put myself first. Thanks for sharing such a personal story, Garrett. Watching the videos on this channel and seeing the happiness that radiates them comforts me when I feel lonely and lost at school. They remind me of what’s important in life. I hope to one day have the chance to step away from school and the stress and really enjoy some quality time with my family on a trip. To just escape and remind myself how grateful I am for the amazing people in my life who love and support me. I’m an English Literature and Public History double major with a minor in German, so I’m not entrepreneurial like Garrett; however, I do have dreams about writing books for children one day and hopefully studying abroad/traveling to widen my worldview. I volunteer in the community around my college at the local community center, so that I can make a difference in the world even while I’m studying. I hope that I can make a larger impact on the world one day and see more of it, just like the Bucket List Family. You’re a huge inspiration to me, Garrett and Jessica. I feel so encouraged to chase my dreams, and maybe even step outside the system that I feel so trapped in right now. I wish you the best of luck with the cartoon and I am really looking forward to watching! I love all your posts on Instagram and they really cheer up my day, so I know I’m gonna love the cartoon too. Thanks for allowing me to share my story in the comments along with yours. I’m trying to be brave like a panda. ✌️~ Claire

Claire, I just want to let you know that you are not alone. I am in the same boat right now as a sophomore in college, trying to navigate my potential major, the stress of schoolwork, personal projects, and figuring out WHO I am. It is a sea of emotions, I navigate them everyday and sometimes you feel lost. I want to thank you for sharing your story, it has helped me feel I am not alone. I wish you the best in your journey, you are going to go so far!!💛

Maggie Nelson thanks for replying to me too! I didn’t know if this would resonate with anyone or even be read. I’m glad that we’re not alone. This is a hurtle that we’ll get past and come out stronger than ever. I’m a sophomore in college too and it feels even crazier than last year since we’re closer to graduation. You are definitely going to do amazing things in your life!! If you ever want to talk (either about college or the Bucket List Family), you could always DM me on Instagram @clairenk28. I’m always up for making new friends😊 I hope you have a productive and happy week!

I’m finding it super funny that the bucket list family stuff was your minimal entrepreneur-self in action just getting it in because you cant help it and it’s also a HUGE SUCCESS but on an even deeper level even though I’m sure less financial than your sale, I feel like it’s made you more rich in life experiences and love. You prove the notion of “you can do anything you set your mind to.” And I admire how intuitive every decision is for you guys. I know Jess wasn’t a huge part of this presentation necessarily but you two come off as a truly perfect balance for one another. I feel like we could feel her essence through the stories and emotions. Keep creating goodness. You guys are the best at it. 🥰😭🥰

It’s so very impressive how humble you remain through all of this. Sharing this very personal experience with people really makes me think about how one conversation, being open in your heart and available in your mind to take such a leap of faith like holding your breath and jumping in the deep end for the first time. Not sure what I’m trying to say but just thank you for sharing your story. I hope you and your family will always continue to enjoy the blessings you’ve obviously worked so hard to achieve. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. My husband is going through the same thing right now. It is hard to see him doing what “the man” wants him to do, instead of what his heart wants to do. As we watched these we cried as we understood what needed to be done. As we looked for answers, he was let go from his job with a severance, he has had meetings with people that all of a sudden are interested in his project. Things are moving in the right direction and the smile has returned to his face. He is now keeping a journal of this process and has made a vision board.
So I am serious when I say thank you for sharing. I love to hear the tenderness in your voice as you speak. It shows your passion. We will be in Hawaii next week, want to meet for lunch? 😄😉

You work hard as does Jess and whatever you get you deserve. If I have learned anything from you I have learned to say yes. Super interesting to hear the whole backstory, what an inspiration to follow your heart. So hard to have that much faith in ones inner self and confidence to walk into the dark rather than take the safe road (multiple times, even turning down the possible offer from apple earlier). Definitely an abundance mindset instead of a scarcity/fear mindset which is especially impressive coming from what you said was your frugal upbringing. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing this story. The part on feeling shackled down by a 10million offer to give up what you really enjoy doing.... A lot of times in order to fufill responsibility, social norms and living by the structured environment... That is like the 10million dollar shackle that I am struggling with everyday. Garett, you inspire me so much. I also have my own app, Predictr, on the app store. It’s like my baby and I can relate a lot. Thanks for sharing this amazing story and giving courage to young folks like me to pursue my dreams. I now moved to Silicon Valley to do so.

Dude, I stumbled upon your account and you are living what every level headed family man dreams of. These types of stories are way to few. Nobody ever leaves out from underneath the dragons wing once they find their spot. Except you. I have all the respect in the world for you. I don't know what that means to you coming from just an average guy like me but thanks for your testimony. Your resilience is inspiring.

woah!!! that's very inspirational! I went the traditional route - left my home country at 11. came to the US for an education. Graduated, married the love of my life, and recently got my immigration paperwork (after 16 years)! Wish you guys the best of luck!!! Will always continue to support you, and hope to be able to see some of the places that you guys have seen!

You’re absolutely amazing and massively inspirational! Your Parents, your family must be so proud of you. You’ve accomplished so much at such a young age while the greater majority aren’t so successful after a lifetime of diligence and effort. Bravo 👏🏻 Garrett❗️👍🏻 @TheBucketListFamily I love your sweet family and beautiful home in Hawaii. How wonderful to swim with sea turtles 🐢 just a few steps from your yard. 💜

Fascinating story. Many congratulations on all the good work you and your team are doing.
It seems people are either risk takers or they’re not. Some are wired differently than those of us that jump at opportunities. It can be frustrating raising a child who is not when you are. That’s when trust and faith come into play. Let them experience their own journey-
