I also would argue we actually HAVE seen the tree already. I think when Ruby met the blacksmith, that is what it was. The emblem outside the forge looks like a flame but also a tree. And the cat said that you don’t go to the tree, the tree goes to you
I agree with this in a way, when Ruby was exiting the dream the blacksmith starting hammering at ludicrous speed. It could be just a way to wake Ruby up. Or Since Her was a living being of the world they were literally building the new herb at top speed, or time was returning to normal and that’s how fast the tree normally takes to reform something or someone. And just to tag on an insane theory, Ruby living in the shadow of her mother might be more literal with the way this world works. If summer did fall to ever after and was suffering just like Ruby is now she could have ascended and been given a fresh start, reborn and remade as Ruby. Yang being older she would barely remember her mom, but Ruby could have been given false memories, or her mind could have been rewritten completely. It would explain that if the Axe in the blacksmith’s shop is Summer’s why it’s still there, and why her shadow keeps following Ruby because not only is Ruby trying to honor her mother’s legacy, she is Summer, reborn in the strangest way possible.
I do like the theory of Lewis being the one to make it back. If Alyx was as selfish and cruel as Jaune described even to the point of poisoning him out of mistrust and possibly sacrificing her own brother to the tree, only to then write about her adventures as the sole hero of the story, then why would she write the Rusted Knight in a positive light? By the sounds of Blake and Weiss, the Knight (Jaune) was a well liked character. If Alyx mistrusted Jaune so much to try and kill him why would she write him as a good guy and not a villain? Lewis being the one to escape makes more sense, perhaps with Alyx making the sacrifice as part of her character development after meeting the Herbalist (like she realised how terrible she was) and so Lewis wrote about the Ever After but with just his Sister to honor her memory, and since he was friends with Jaune would write the Rusted Knight in a positive way.
Because he didn’t do anything that can be villified and justify how fast she poisoned him. But if she keeps him nice and blames the poison on something else, she gets to make herself look better, maybe even look like a badass or tragic avenging heroine to justify her doing a different hostile action later?
@@tetragaming6332 Yes, we heard one line from the story as Jaune put it, "The Rusted Knight took the poison in her stead". But we don't know what scenario is being referred to from the original tale to put the pieces entirely together yet.
@@tetragaming6332 Well not really, it is a fairy tale. People do not need to have motivations, the cat was simply curious and the knight could simply be evil. In all honesty it seems more realistic to me that Alyx would take the heat off herself
I'm thinking about that line when Blake asked the Cat "but she learned her lesson in the end right?" and the Cat replied "I'd certainly say so!". That "I'd certainly say so!" and the way the Cat said it could take an ominous turn. Like say if Alyx took Lewis to the tree fully intending to sacrifice him so she can get back to Remnant, but because Lewis was the clever one, he saw it coming a mile away (especially after Alyx betrayed Jaune) and flipped the tables on her, sacrificing her and allowing Lewis to escape instead... she *learned her lesson in the end*
Indeed! It's fitting that this story is more darker than initially seemed, since so in real life many fairy tales are much darker than what companies like Disney portrays them as lol
I think the Jabberwalker being positioned with Louis’s book in the intro does strongly suggest that one of the siblings got up cycled into the new Jabberwalker
def alex, cuz given the personality i think she wouldnt write a book and potray her as it does. it would make more sense at the end that maybe the choice they make lead the tree to offer a way home and given her acts toward the end louis made the sacrfice of alex and the tree excepted that and when louis made it home after time it set in what he did he felt regret and then wrote it in her honor and thats y shes not as horrible as in real life. not to mention the cuts of stuff that they did. then given how shes already horrible person the accension made her the jabberwokee
Honestly what makes me more inclined to Trust Jaune is how the Curious Cat handled things by revealing that the reason they didn't say anything about the Trees true nature was because no body asked, and that Alyx promised to take them to Remnant. Also the Revelation about the Tree and the Cat does hint at something quite worrisome, Ruby essentially is Broken at this point and feels like she no longer has any idea what she should do, in other words she has lost her purpose/feels like she can't fulfil it, which means the Curious Cat most likely wanted to get her to the Tree so she can be "Fixed" and find her Purposed
@@The_Mem As revealed in yesterdays episode the Tree doesn't simply take Non-Afterns lives unless given them, meaning that unless she physically makes it to the tree and is traded to allow passage for the others she won't ascend, also the Cat does point out "The Herbalist" wasn't in a good condition
@Big Fan 10-Gaming that is just an assumption agein we do not know what happened at the tree only what jaun believes the cat clearly prevented herb from changing her if his goal was her ascension he wouldn't have stoped that
@@shadow-faye I don't see why he would lie about that as that's information he himself added I'm pretty sure that wasn't in the book she wrote and jaune himself said who was with her that she changed everything seems to confirm that she went home but her brother didn't
I think it would okay to believe Jaune for now. I haven’t seen anything that points to him lying to his memories being messed with. He might still be wrong about things he doesn’t know about like which sibling returned to Remnant.
The cat I’m pretty sure is the relic of choice. Remember the crown from the fairytale, and look closely at the cats design and how it acts and how it roams freely in the ever after
I’m just wondering how Lewis connects to all of this and how Alyx and him even got there but I have a feeling somewhere along ozpin ties into this too, cause where else is a better place to hide the relic of choice? Just fits and it seems fitting that the whole theme/lesson for the characters in volume 9 is that the characters learn who they are, that they can choose who they are, and ultimately make a choice to keep going forward or be someone else - specifically in rubys case
@@nelemmoon8204 That would explain why Summer's weapon being hinted at with the blacksmith too. If she made it to the Ever After to find the "Relic" and we know that Summer never made it back home.
Kind of surprised you didn't bring up the idea that the reason why we saw the dagger in the Blacksmith shop is that Alyx is the Blacksmith and she gave up her humanity to get her brother out becoming a servant of the tree and a "robot" so not human anymore.
Juane has created a paradoxical time loop with Oz. Also I feel like the dagger is there because one of them probably had to "sacrifice" the other quite literally. And seeing as it looks like Ozma may have been Lewis I get the feeling at the last minute they were given a trial where he ended up having to sacrifice her to the tree and she ended up letting him. So he wrote out all the things that villainized her in the "Girl that fell through the world" before fully becoming Oz. And the reason Oscar didn't know is because he hasn't fully merged and can't access the previous incarnations memories but Ozpin could. Thus why he was intimately familiar with the tale, and also why he let Juane in despite the fake transcripts because he knew him already through Lewis/Oz's memories. I actually get the feeling Alyx might be the blacksmith now. Cause we heard her mentioned but never what role she played in the story besides being kind. Maybe the tree took her and repurposed her as a kind person like her brother and the kind person she ended up being when it counted in her final moments at the tree. And maybe that is why the blacksmith has her dagger. I also get a feeling the relic of choice is hidden here and may play a part of all this and of the tree and the purpose/repurpose aspect of the world. I think that maybe Lewis hid the relic of choice in the ever after (either on purpose with Alyx or after he lost her somehow)
And I'm getting a feeling that the tree IS the relic or contains it somehow cause everything in the ever after chooses it's purpose and everything about the ever after has been about solving dilemas of their own mind and making challenging choices
I am beginning to think that the analysis of Lewis (Lewoz?) is a reincarnation of Oz, or became one in time. As you noted this explains why Ozpin would let him in despite fake transcripts and why his team was relatively favored, along with Team RWBY. He knew Jaune, and Jaune as the Rusted Knight was kind to him, which is rather bittersweet to think of, he is paying homage to an old friend, while also setting him on his path to become just that.
I honestly think this is in-line with my original theory at the end of Vol 8. This world is another sandbox of the gods. With the humans of Remnant being so rebellious having completely free will, they created a realm (with connections to the others) where the residents have assigned duties to create a forced harmony. Other kids can build things in your sandbox when you aren't paying attention**cough-NEO-cough** So don't be surprised if your sand castle gets kicked over and your precious order turns to chaos❤
I do think Alyx did not survive her trip to the tree. I think Lewis did make it but a defended himself from his sister and she was sacrificed to be reborn while Lewis hitched a ride back to Renmeant. He wrote himself out of the story out of guilt is my best guess. However, I don't think Alyx was reborn in the world of Ever After. I think Alex was reborn in Remeant as a girl with a kind, simple soul that wanted to be a hero, Ruby Rose. A girl that did not have the cruelty of Alyx, and the hero of her own story, something Alyx wants. And part of the turmoil Ruby is feeling in this volume is Alyx bubbling up due to Ruby's depression and anger at failure. A lot of signs point to Ruby being deeply connected to Alyx and the Ever After with the dagger, characters, and the Ever After as a whole. Especially with Little Mouse (a possible remeant of Alyx) being so intuned with Ruby's thoughts and feelings, far more than any other character. And in the opening, we see Ruby falling past the images, only the image of Little Mouse and Alyx were side-by-side instead of being in sequence.
@@BeautifulBelladonna Yeah, but we also see Ruby is somehow connected to the Ever After. The Dagger called out to Ruby. Neo is possible but I think it's leaning more toward Ruby. Edit: Especially in the opening, Cresent Rose washed up behind Alex as she followed Ruby's footsteps away from the beach. Though a third is Ruby the decedent since Summer also appears as well.
@@raw6668 I was thinking that as well. I feel like Alex has a connection to her in some form of fashion. I'm not tied to the idea that they have to be reincarnations of each other. But I think that would be really cool. Another thing I think is that little is actually Alex if she's not a part of Ruby in some way.
When Oscar/Ozpin were talking about The Girl Who Feel Through the World, didn't Ozpin say that he's lived through his share of fairy tales? I was also wondering why Jinn wouldn't have shown this, but maybe it's something that was Lewis's secret, since it happened before they merged, so it didn't count as something Ozpin was hiding. I can also think of two reasons Ozpin didn't mention it during the end of Volume 8: Ozpin didn't know about that link (because either Lewis got there by different means or Alyx triggered something he wasn't aware of), or possibly he knew that Jaune had to go there to become who he needed to be, and he was planning to go back to the nexus to join them in the Ever After.
Oh my god I just came up with a theory. What if Penny's dad is Lewis and Lewis as a kid gave that dagger to Alex. That's why Ruby saw Penny sword when it was Alex's dagger😮
I think Louis sacrifice himself to get Alex back to Remnant in a split second decision because they were being attacked by the Jabberwalker. Alex became sad because she was a terrible person, and she felt that she didn't deserve being saved. She wrote the story with "Alex" to represent both of them.
It'd be hilarious if the siblings souls did fuse only for them to return and become Ozpin's next reincarnation, and Oz introducing himself by way of commenting on how crowded it is "In here"
It's also possible that Jaune told the Curious Cat about the fairy tale initially, and it guided the events to play out somewhat differently out of curiosity
i have a theory that the Ever After won't let Jaune and Neo leave to Remnant for several reasons : A ; the Ever Aftar Seems to be actively delegating roles, So it's no coincidence that the first thing John encounters is the Time Tree (which stuck him in a time loop and became part of Alyx's story, which means he was part of EA before he was even born) and Neo fell almost a day after Ruby and right in the Jabberwalker's part when he is injured and immediately got new powers . B ; Neo is practically replaced the Jabberwalker and the only one who can protect the residents is John, making them the EA version of Salem and Ozpin and if one of them leaves the EA will be out of balance. C ; They don't want to leave, John got used to the EA and got tired of fighting and Neo can have clones of everyone she lost and be one of the strongest characters in the EA. (Also in the opening, John is in flames at the end, so it is possible that he will sacrifice himself this season).
Here is an interesting theory that another TH-camr and I thought of . Might be long but hear me out. It might all happen next episode because it airs on April Fools day. We have a feeling that whether it’s from Neo or Ruby sacrificing herself to the tree to get the rest of her team and Jaune home, it’ll look like that she had perished or had been erased forever. While rest of team Rwby and Jaune and maybe the cat as well leave thinking Ruby was gone forever….but she isn’t. She gets remade by the tree and blacksmith into Alyx or Alyx forces a body swap with Ruby somehow for a chance finally escape the ever after. When Ruby (who has been forcefully transformed into Alyx awakens, she begins roaming through the ever after, possibly struggling with her memories starting to be overwritten. However, as she begins making her way back to the tree, she runs into objects that reinforce and help her remember that she is Ruby Rose…first Pennys sword, then her mothers emblem of her promise, and finally Crescent Rose/mothers weapon. By the final episode, she manages to confront her most self in front of the tree and proclaim who she truly is, transforming her back to normal as Ruby Rose once again and rejoining her team and Jaune back in Remnant. The only major obstacles I can see getting in her way before she can finally escape is possibly Neo and/or the real Alyx herself
I had basically the same thoughts as this theory minus the idea of Alyx and Lewis getting combined. I also had the idea of Alyx having lived a fall from the tree and survived in the Ever After and she meets with team RWBY and Jaune having changed due to an isolation from the rest of the Ever After. If I were writing RWBY I would have Alyx and the Curious cat go to remnant with team RWBY and either join the fight against Salem or most likely Alyx and the cat wander around Remnant. Alyx guiding the cat in his thirst for knowledge as an apology for being selfish and rude. If Alyx never makes it out then there could be an alternative route she could go down. Instead of becoming Juniper or the Jabberwalker , Alyx could have become one with the tree itself or even the blacksmith.
That would be interesting if Alyx stayed in the Ever After and Lewis went home. I mean that Alyx could have learned her lesson and became a better person, maybe Team RWBY and Jaune would take her and the cat home with them along with Juniper and Little.
I do wonder if the relic of choice may be in the ever after. Cinder was never able to find it and there not much area left to explore. If Ozma was in louis he may have taken the relic with him and left it there as it would be safest in a world Salem couldn't reach (also no Grimm in the ever after).
I was rewatching RWBY: Tales of Remnant and noticed something. In 'The Hunters Children': the father has a cloak with a tree emblem and that one of said kids has golden eyes much like Lewis. So maybe...a descendant of Lewis or Alyx after leaving the Ever After? Or one of the Oz incarnations?
That’s interesting. Because when Ruby is falling in the intro, notice that we don’t see anyone else but her falling. The others probably took whatever test the tree gave them and passed, but what about Ruby, who didn’t have an answer, and continues to fall? 😮 And if Jaune lives up to his story as a martyr… will he sacrifice himself so Ruby can escape…?
@@nitromiyazaki little is not going to die just get a new purpose maybe they actually take the cat with them, and littles new purpose is like the cats. my main question is this is that summers weapon that we see in the blacksmith's shop how it got down here if that is really her weapon. did she end up down here as well and did she meet jaune did she die down here and get a new purpose my theory is she is either the jackelope or she turned into little?
I have a theory that Ever After is a bridge to the after life. People go there when they're not satisfied with how they died. Penny isn't there because she accepted her death. Summer ended up there because she didn't accept her death. Alyx and Lewis are there because they died young during the Great War. Addendum: I don't think Lewis grew up to be The Inventor. Their hair texture is different; Lewis has locks and The Inventor has straight hair.
I’ve got a rather dark theory on Lewis’s fate if he was the one stuck behind. Alyx and Lewis make it to the tree however after Alyx tricks the cat into going somewhere else the jabberwock shows up and attacks Alyx and Lewis. Alyx uses Lewis as bait to kill the jabberwock with her dagger however Lewis gets injured. Alyx sees the portal and takes Lewis’s book back with her to remant leaving a dying and feeling betrayed Lewis behind, those feelings cause Lewis to split into two beings when he ascends being the new jabberwock and the jackelop. Alyx arrives back on remnant and realises Lewis wrote a story down about their adventures in the everafter she then makes changes to the book and writes her brother out of it. However towards the end she starts to feel lonely without her brother and writes about how she wasn’t the girl she was anymore after betraying her friends the knight and the cat as well as her brother. She wasn’t as selfish she finally started to care but it was too late.
I really hope you're right because it'd be an awesome twist if Lewis was the one who made it out and rewrote the story in his journal as a means of catharsis and honouring his sister's memory in a retelling that was kinder than whatever happened to her. Team RWBY made the assumption Alyx wrote the book about her adventures. Maybe Jaune assumed that too, because the story is about Alyx. But it sounds like he wasn't actually AT the tree, he's just inferring that because Alyx didn't mention him in the book and the book is about her that SHE wrote the story. Maybe HE betrayed HER (and she was warned by Herb) and he felt guilty and this is his way of "penance" - (kind of like how the book Atonement is Briony's "penance" but is actually self-serving and doesn't fix anything in reality, but writing a happier version of the characters' stories makes her feel better). Or maybe he was being deliberately calculating in removing himself from the story, in which case, one has to wonder why he'd write the story in the first place. Could he have been trying to get contacted by people who had also found their way to the EA? Herb could have warned her this would happen and that Jaune may have been more loyal to Lewis and was taken in by Lewis, the "kind and clever one" and would have supported Lewis and believed his side.
This might be a crackpot theory, but is there any possibility that Neo is connected to Alyx sudden change? I keep thinking of the frame of the opening where Neo’s portrait turns Into Alyx.
Oz probably met Lewis if he didn't become Lewis - because that might be where he got the inspiration to make the pocket dimensions for the relics. Hence when team RWBY ask Ambrosius for the crossroads to be in "a place like this", they end up in the place that literally was the template for Oz's designs. Also btw time is just another dimension of space so maybe Oz's cane does have the power to make pocket dimensions among its "few tricks up its sleeve" - it could be a portal gun/pocket dimension gun. I still suspect Raven's portal ability came from Oz since it also involves spacetime bending. Also, it would be amazing if at the end of the volume Raven showed up sensing Yang was about to be absorbed and was like "come through my portal!".
Two siblings descending into a new world as comets in the sky, one (potentially) going rogue, themes of memory and nothing appearing as it seems? Getting Genshin Impact vibes from this volume, ngl. I have to wonder whose version of history is the truth. Conflicting stories always add so much intrigue! Also, good call for realizing the Lewis is a reference to the author...for some reason my brain immediately went "Lewis and Clark" and I haven't been able to think otherwise since. 3rd grade history coming back with a vengeance!
I think the tree turned Alyx brother into the first Jabawalker. Think about it, what's the point of a creature that can permanently wipe away beings if the tree needs the cycle to keep going? The answer: Alex showed the tree it is vulnerable to outside threats and that's explains why it seems solely fixated on killing Team RWBY until something else takes it attention. This was apparent even before Neo was controlling it. It saw them and went DANGER. Why would they be considered a danger? And to whom? Or what? Side note: Summer Rose's weapon being there could've been an illusion... or since Ruby acts as if she didn't know it was her mother's until her face was shown in blade then it is actually hers. And the Cat is the relic of choice meaning Summer came here to find it and never returned. Maybe becoming the first Jabberwalker that Alyx killed and had Louis repurposed into as a deal to leave
The ever after being all about introspection, finding yourself and deciding your purpose makes me think that the relic of Choice might have some relevance here.
One thing I think it's good to remember that even if Ozpin knew about Jaune being Rusted Knight he wouldn't have knew that it would happen now. The Jaune in Ever After that Alice and Lewis met was already older and probably didn't tell them how he ended up there.
Ok going by all I’ve heard I’ll alight with these theories. Alex never made it back at all, her model being in the intro, points to her possibly joining the story again, possibly after the death of her ‘ascended’ self and given a second chance to go back. So currently my suspects are jabberwock or Juniper, since one bleeds and the other arrived after the fantasy story. And sense Neo is controlling the jabberwock currently it might need to be saved or put out of its misery to take away part of Neo’s power when we make it to her arc. (Most likely all the people behind her are shade clones made from her power based on memories of her past.) Ruby needs a shock to her system, and dealing with someone who already failed and now has a second chance would be a perfect fit for Alex, which would also explain why Alex is running with the main crew in the opening and Ruby is blacked out because she’s currently broken and needs help from her team and Alex. Overall the best 2 ways I see this happening are the test of ascension happens and because of Alex’s help Ruby is able to push past her doubts, and leave with her team, along with Alex who’s changed or Alex being gone from her world for too long stays in the world since she would be a girl out of time in present day remnant. Her deciding to stay may even give her a new role allowing for a certain cat to go to remnant as he said he wanted to originally, allowing Alex to keep the wish/ promise to them. Edit: Also realized that Neo is possibly the mad hatter of the Alice in wonderland story now. Her anger at Ruby being what been driving her to insanity.
Imagine if Alyx was one of the maidens? How would Alyx and her brother fall through time and space to the Ever After? This would only happen if they had come in contact with one of the relic's spirits. Going back to Volume 8, Ambrosius (spirit of creation) told Team Rwby to not fall into the space-void in a dark ominous voice. He gave them a warning. So it wasn't the first time he created a sort of portal and it wasn't the first time someone fell. Why give a warning? We know Summer is somehow connected to the Ever AFter. What if Ozpin sent her there to rescue the maiden (alyx) and her brother while hiding Beacon's relic in the Ever After as well. (this is just a crack theory but it would be crazy haha).
Oftentimes our understanding of events depends on our personal perception. Also, its not really surprising that the story that RWBYJ know is different than what may have originally happened, you have the same thing happens with the fairy tales and stores here also. As time goes on they get changed either because of translation or simply the copier decided to inject their personal morality into the story.
Wasn't it that particular incarnation of Ozma who switched from a staff to a cane? And apparently Oz's cane stores TIME, so......... is he going to absorb Jaune's extra time from the EA and restore his youth? This could have been Lewis' inspiration from seeing how time flows in the EA - learning something new about time. (Possibly Jaune told them about the tree even if he didn't tell them about team RWBY or that he was still possibly not caught up to his own time yet.) While Alyx was busy trying to find a way out Lewis was studying the EA.
I honestly began to question who actually left the Ever After once I've learned what Aliex was really like and how much worse she got after meeting Herb. Whatever she saw on her little "spiritual walk" it clearly shook her to her core. A possible glimpse into her future? Maybe being confronted/called out by herself for her attitude, with the possibility that she wasn't well like because of it and would wind up alone? Only she misinterpreted it as being alone in the Ever After?
I like the Ozpin being Lewis theory, it could’ve been one of his reincarnations. But Oscar said that when Alyx returned to Remnant, she was never the same. Maybe she shed her bad characteristics, like leaving behind her dagger, and maybe they manifested themselves into the Jabberwocker. We know that the Ever After makes people ascend into better versions of themselves, so maybe it’s possible that the Ever After made Alyx into a better person, and it’ll put RWBYJ through trials to shape them into better people. Or maybe Alyx wasn’t reformed enough to go back, so she became the Jabberwocker as punishment. Ozpin seems to be involved in every major fairytale, like the man with two souls, the wizard and the maidens, and perhaps this one.
I think I might know how and why there are multiple jabberwalkers (I doubt I wrote that right), Neo. when team RWBY defeated the jabberwalker it dispated in a flashy way in which Blake said "Neo?", obviously remembering how her hallucinations work, though it seems different back in Remnant. And when we see the scene when Neo falls, encounters the jabberwalker, then creates multiple physical clone hallucination of herself (by accident probably seeing she seemed surprised by that) with her semblance and then using her clones to deal with the jabberwalker, physically and personnal! Since then she would have learned to control this new skill of her semblance and knowing she kind of likes to cause chaos she would have been present at the huge flowerpond market place where many people are ussually present and then create a couple jabberwalkers to terrorrize the place. This is ofc is my theory and personnal thoughts, and while they seem to be very likely we still have to wait for the rest of the episodes in order to make conclusions.
Something to question based on your suggestions was that if Lewis was some reincarnation of Ozma and wrote that story of The Girl That Fell Through the World, then we might want to pay attention to the other book mentioned earlier about a person living with two souls in their bodies. Might be worth looking back to see who the author was since that was an eerie foreshadowing of Ozma's parasitical and symbiotic relationship that only he could know about.
Maybe not related to this video, but I would think that the original idea of the blacksmith being Alex still holds weight. At the very least I think the blacksmith is very unique.
I would really like to know the truth about Jaunea jackalope friend. How did he meet it? Where did it come from and what is it's propose in the Ever After? Maybe it's purpose is to make sure Jaune escapes the Ever After. What ever the reason, Jaune needs to go home. He's been thorough enough there. Also, you should do a video about Jaune, the Time Fruit and his age problem. Maybe there is a way he can change back. He could use the Time Fruit again, he could do a Narnia and return to his original age after leaving, or a younger version of Jaune could appear. The current version of Jaune is the one from the story in the history books, but what if the younger version of Jaune, who fell after RWBY, hasn't arrived yet? What if there's still hope for seeing young Jaune again?
Because he would have known that Jaune was poisoned, just not that Alyx did it. Alyx would have lied about her being the one to poison him but it's hard to hide the fact that the Rusted Knight was poisoned since the rusted knight would have stayed behind. Alyx could have simply told Lewis that 'The Rusted Knight said to go on without him'
This might be reading into things too much but I think that the reason her name is “Alex” and not “Alice” because the story isn’t exactly how things actually happened.
I don't think Jaune is lying, but I can easily see his interpretation of Alyx being hugely off. 1) He readily admits that he doesn't actually know what happened to Alyx and Lewis, but treats his speculation of Alyx sacrificing Lewis as hard fact. 2) He says that the more he tried to get Alyx to follow the story, the more hostile Alyx became. Did Jaune ever tell Alyx that he was from the future and trying to follow an account that Alyx would presumably write? Because if not, it's likely Jaune gave Alyx the impression of a liar trying to manipulate her and Lewis while pretending to know more than he did. In that case, OF COURSE Alyx would be hostile to Jaune, just like Jaune and Team RWBY were with Oz when they caught him lying to them. 3) Likewise, everything Jaune says about the Cat's purpose is again speculation on his part. In a Volume of Unreliable Narrators, why should we expect Jaune to be any more reliable than Alyx's story or the Cat?
To answer your question about jaune being reliable then alyx story or the cat is that with jaune he's someone that team RWBY can trust and has been there longer then even alyx herself and went to his own journey so he may have alot of knowledge in the ever after but even then there are somethings he doesn't know like what happened to alyx and lewis only give his speculation because he knows them personally (i think) and also because if alyx was willing to poison jaune then of course he might think that she would do something to lewis in order to escape so of course he might think that. Also he can't really trust the cat (at this point) cause the cat was the only one that was with alyx and lewis only to find out that they are not with the cat and also the cat is acting suspicious right know. And the fact that the story itself is sort of a black myth the story did happened but there was alot of things left out in that that you cant trust it at this point so jaune is the only option now. The only thing jaune is hiding right now is the fact that he killed penny but thats it or maybe he's hiding the fact that his plan is to probably sacrifice himself to the tree in order to let team rwby leave.
There was a theory I had not seen addressed yet, which was that Neo could be incarnated from Alyx when she left the tree. We don't know what happens to people from remnant when they try and leave through the tree, so, this might be plausible...? The connection between Neo and Ronan also reminds me of siblings..something like Alyx and Lewis once had as siblings, but separated, before Ronan became that missing piece of "Alyx's" heart.
i think the Jabberwalker may be trying to find and fix the broken watch that rewound jaune because the tree(or what made it) wanted him to find it was it a good or bad thing that he broke the watch
Rabbits have often carried the symbolism of fertility and rebirth. Trying to think outside the box the Jackalope may be Penny. Penny is dead but her body did fall into ever after. She's not human so its possible if she was re-forged she may have her memories because the tree couldn't take it from a robotic life form or didn't know how to. When the Jackalope passes the water we see an image of Penny. It would make sense in that case why the Jackalope would be with Jaune. Then again Penny can also be Little the mouse as it latches onto Ruby right away and was still young so it doesn't know the story or have a role. As for the book I have to wonder if it was made for Jaune and his friends? We know the cat was told about the book by Jaune so perhaps Lewis knew about it as well. There might be a message left by Lewis within the story. It probably contains information he learned at the tree but was unable to pass on. If I have to guess Lewis's omission of himself and focusing on Alyx may be a key piece to understanding what transpired at the tree.
I think it might have been ozpin all along. Because, is alex a huntress?...... maybe it was ozpin, or louis, that defeated the jabberwalker. And afterwards, ozpin could have wrote the story in honor of her, which he tried to save, but she sacrificed herself
Or maybe Alyx did try to sacrifice Lewis, but the tree, since it seems to be a sentient being, passed judgment on Alyx and decided that Lewis was the one who was worthy of returning home... and then, as you said, wrote the story in her honor and left out the bad parts.
I remember someone made a Siri to wear Louis was the one who got back to remnant Which would make sense or at least has evidence in the fact that Alex’s knife seemed to be at the blacksmith shop
If Alyx was the one who made it back why would she write herself as a bad person ? Wouldn’t she write about herself as the hero of the story? And still write the rusted knight as a villain ? My guess is that Lewis made it back and wrote about his sister as the bad guy. I mean what if it was Lewis who poisoned Jaune and manipulated Alyx that Jaune was evil or something. That’s why she said she would do what ever it takes to go back home. I mean neither Jaune nor the curious cat know what happened to those two
It would make more sense if Lewis made it back and made Alyx the bad guy since he was the nice and clever one. So it would’ve made more sense if he was the one who wrote the book about the girl who fell through the world and left himself out of it. My whole theory is that he was jealous of Alyx or something and Lewis tried to poison her but Jaune actually took the poison in her stead and then convinced that Jaune was trying to keep them there which is why they both left him to die until they got to the tree and she realized Lewis is lying and then got sacrificed to become something else while he got to go home
Rewatching season 8 of RWBY there’s a moment where Oscar quotes “The Girl who fell through the World” and Ozpin said he recognized it. Not in the sense he was there, but that he heard it. Maybe to him too it was a fairytale and didn’t know it was based off of an actual thing that happened.
THEORY: Lewis is the one that returned and wrote the story in loving memory of his sister - leaving out the nasty bits about her; wanting her to be remembered in a more positive/heroic light. i think that Alyx turned into the Jabberwalker because it was most _curious_ how when it got cut, they panned closer to the blood and it rambling about fixing something (herself maybe). I also think the JW actually created when they reached the tree: Lewis knew/saw that Alyx turned into the JW and purposefully rewrote the timeline events so it wouldn't be a very sad story (too many of those in remnant already💔). 'Story Alyx' then slayed the JW and he hoped that by rewriting the end, his sister who was trapped in another world would one day slay her inner demon (literally manifested as the beastly JW) and be at peace; concluding her "hero's journey." that's why it's so beloved in remnant - because it's based somewhat on true events and also a child friendly cautionary tale. i also don't think we should be quick to distrust the Cat even though it doesn't give out the full story (because it wasn't asked) since it did save Ruby from Herb's trance and genuinely didn't wanna another Alyx situation. ever after and it's denizens weirdly behave in both literal and metaphorical ways (oxymoronic typa reality) tl;dr Lewis left and wrote positively about Alyx with events not 1:1 chronologically. Alyx became the JW instead of leaving too. also trust the Cat a bit more but still be cautious.
This episode left me with 2 thinks in mind, what happend if someone who is not a fary tale cararcter or resident for ever after dies?, and that lead to, Does Jaune can't leave ever after becuase he is now a character (the rusted knight) or the fact he was poisoned (Is not clear if it kill him or he survive)?
The thing is if Ozma incarnated into Lewis there would be an issue, Ever-After isn't part of Remnant if I understand things right it's another World outside of the Brothers' Control, and if Ozma as Lewis were to die in Ever-After then he likely would be made to "Ascend" by the Tree
My big thing is that the staff of creation won’t create complete universes without a blueprint, ozpin helped make the blueprints and likely had to at least know of the ever after to have it be the central location, so I do believe the theory that Louis is a prior incarnation.
The Ever after is going to be how they get rid of Salem, if not in canon then in several fanfics. After all, Salem is only a threat because of how old she is and the knowledge she possesses that has turned her suicidal and genocidal. If she gets fed to the tree and ascends, then she won’t need the relics and she gets a happy ending without an apocalypse. As long as she periodically Ascends.
Lots of potential headache inducing possibilities here. I was hoping that Alyx would be a benevolent character if they were encountered. I agree that Louis wasn't one of Ozma's incarnations. Oz would have had access to his memories and been able to have awareness of the EverAfter and how to get there. Right now I don't trust this world and its various actors such as the cat, blacksmith, the tree etc. Lies of omission are the worst kind and that seems to be a theme in this place. I do trust Jaune, sure he cheated to get into Beacon, he hasn't told Ruby about killing Penny (he's not the only one not telling) but I still trust him the most out of the available sources of info in this world. The cat's little jabs at him are just that and nothing more IMO. This guy has been in this nonsensical world for potentially decades and not only has he survived he appears to still be sane as far as we know. Jaune has always been stronger inside and out than he and some of the fans have given him credit for. That's something I think Ruby, Oz and Pyrrha saw early on. I am curious to learn what really happened with Alyx and Louis. One being the Jabberwalker seems to be cruel fate. I also want to know what era of Remnant's history they are from. If a deal needs to be made I say that RWBY and Jaune need to offer to deal with Neo in exchange for safe passage to Remnant. Neo is likely upsetting this world's cycle by using the Jabberwalker as a weapon in conjunction with her semblance. I wouldn't be surprised if our favorite ice cream girl is going a little mad with power right now.
Do we know how long ago this fable was written? Because it happened with Jaune's lifetime, which means 40 or 50 years ago which would make them Hazel's parents or grandparents if they are related
Time in the Ever After might not entirely match up with Remnant. So like 40 years in the Ever After might be 250+ years in Remnant. Team RWBY being in the Ever After for a few weeks might mean they're gone from Remnant for months.
I think in the end it is Alyx that returned. In a conversation between Oscar and Ozpin, Oscar says he never understood why the girl who fell through the world was sad when she returned. I think she was sad because when she came back she realized what she had to sacrifice to get here, that being her own brother.
What if the jabberwocker is alyx but at the end of the volume jaune and team rwby "defeat" it by sending it back in time using a time fruit like how jaune was went back. This would allow it to be alyx and still be the one she met during her trip through the ever after
What if Little is Lewis or alex ? Being the guide to the new people that fell just like they did. Maybe that’s why Little didn’t want to be near the blacksmith. She couldn’t remember why she didn’t want to be near the blacksmith but her heart did. The mind may forget but the heart doesn’t.
unfortunally you don't know but when alyx was close to the portal the tree talked with alyx and after the talk she decided that would fix every thing in the ever after that she ruined incluinding poor jaune but when lewis pass through the alyx didn't and what was the cat reaction well is the same reaction when a object get useless or broken you trow away or in that case killed
What if, whilst alyx stays cursed in a new form for the deeds she’s done in the ever after, her brother was also cursed but sent back, recalling the experience as just a dream, changing his pov as the girl from this dream named alyx. Changing things he didn’t particularly like. (Poisoning the rusted knight= took the poison in her steed)
I do see some similarities with OZ and the others with Lewis traits but if it was true than wouldn't OZ know the events before we start volume 9? Why not say anything after his secret got revealed in vol 6, did Jaune tell him not too for time shenanigans?
What if Lewis is Pietro Polendina? Pietro's ability to make Penny seems like it came from or was altered by the Ever After, and while it is the cheap answer, the tree could've taken Lewis's ability to walk.
I got a theory that the monster of Neverland might be the sister that wanted to ascend and be part of this world but failed, becoming the monster that kills to try to ascend using them as a doorway to the tree?
I wonder if Lewis got left behind, maybe he got reforged into Little. We see him have no purpose when we meet him, and the town doesn't seem too concerned that he's going away, and you've pointed out that Little could represent some of Ruby's innocence. I wonder if this is Lewis' second chance, where he didn't get to redeem his sister and help her be kind, so maybe he's being given a 2nd chance to help the new Alyx, the new girl who fell through the world.
I'm/we're still trying to ponder the question How did Alyx and Lewis got to ever after since The gods removed Magic from remnant before Chap 6 & really finding about Alyx I theorized She got to ever after Thanks to her semblance since dust and semblance are the remains of Magic I theorized Alyx's semblance calling it Burrow for it's a thing Hares do allowed Alyx to create a portal to jump between places she thought of and she started to train with her semblance to strengthen it so she could be capable of jumping to far away locations as she did she must've thought about ever after of how it would be awesome to be in another World so her semblance brought her there
I think the jabber-walker’s purpose is actually to break the cycle rather than just destruction - given what the cat said is tue. The cat said if the ever after people is killed by the jabber-walker then they won’t ascend. So it seems like its purpose is to break this cycle. This would also align with the theory about Lewis or Alyx being repurposed as the jabber-walker. That’s just a theory of mine. I’m taking what the cat said with a grain of salt though so I’m not 100% sure but thought this was interesting
What about Alyx became the Smith? Still a human with a purpose given by the world bound by the world but unchanged by Ascension She's the only other human and it explains how Alyx's knife was collected by the Smith who hasn't even received a proper name at least that I noticed. And it is curious about how Ruby went to her shop on that occasion and at least where this other human came from especially since from Little's treatment humans aren't rare here we've so far only seen 1 that we haven't seen before.
The gods of light and darkness have dragon forms. Maybe the gods of light and darkness here have more mamalian forms. Also I'm still thinking the story of the Shallow Sea could actually have occured here and just possibly the jackalope, or the jackalope combined with jabberwalker (since the Remnant God split himself into the two brothers) is the faunus creator God they mention with multiple animal attributes.
I also would argue we actually HAVE seen the tree already. I think when Ruby met the blacksmith, that is what it was. The emblem outside the forge looks like a flame but also a tree. And the cat said that you don’t go to the tree, the tree goes to you
,,,And the Butterfly Wing the Blacksmith was Forging, if that's the Case then the Wing represented "The Herbalist" a Caterpillar
I agree with this in a way, when Ruby was exiting the dream the blacksmith starting hammering at ludicrous speed. It could be just a way to wake Ruby up.
Or
Since Her was a living being of the world they were literally building the new herb at top speed, or time was returning to normal and that’s how fast the tree normally takes to reform something or someone.

@@tetragaming6332 That feels unrealistic, she could write him as scheeming and dangerous, plannig to trick others.
@@lucifer-librarian9562 you start that lie and you have to invent reasons, motives. It’s more effort than it’s actually worth with zero payoff

I think the Jabberwalker being positioned with Louis’s book in the intro does strongly suggest that one of the siblings got up cycled into the new Jabberwalker
I do think one of the siblings is the jabberwalker. Turned that way because of their final moments such as betrayal or anger. That's what I think.
My guess, given the writing thus far, that Louis is the Jaberwalker.
def alex, cuz given the personality i think she wouldnt write a book and potray her as it does. it would make more sense at the end that maybe the choice they make lead the tree to offer a way home and given her acts toward the end louis made the sacrfice of alex and the tree excepted that and when louis made it home after time it set in what he did he felt regret and then wrote it in her honor and thats y shes not as horrible as in real life. not to mention the cuts of stuff that they did. then given how shes already horrible person the accension made her the jabberwokee
@@Anaken12 I do agree
Definitely sounds like it, the jabberwock is either alyx OR the remnants of the bad in alyx and lewis combined forged to have a purpose
Disagree if that was really his goal he wouldn't have interrupted herb
@@The_Mem As revealed in yesterdays episode the Tree doesn't simply take Non-Afterns lives unless given them, meaning that unless she physically makes it to the tree and is traded to allow passage for the others she won't ascend, also the Cat does point out "The Herbalist" wasn't in a good condition
@Big Fan 10-Gaming that is just an assumption agein we do not know what happened at the tree only what jaun believes the cat clearly prevented herb from changing her if his goal was her ascension he wouldn't have stoped that

I think it would okay to believe Jaune for now. I haven’t seen anything that points to him lying to his memories being messed with. He might still be wrong about things he doesn’t know about like which sibling returned to Remnant.
The cat I’m pretty sure is the relic of choice. Remember the crown from the fairytale, and look closely at the cats design and how it acts and how it roams freely in the ever after
That would be cool to see.
If that ends up being true, Ozpin picked one hell of a hiding spot for it lol
@@PrismOpal64 omggg that was Summer Rose mission !!!!
I mean, who talked about the Girl who fell through the world last volume first ?
Wasn't it Ozpin or Oscar ?
My theory is that Alyx reincarnated into Neo, they have similar personalities, and that in the opening at the end, Neo transforms in Alyx
And this is why you never trust anyone who is completely Rotten to the Core.
And if Jaune lives up to his story as a martyr… will he sacrifice himself so Ruby can escape…?
i think little is going to have something to do with that if their is a sacrifice
@@sulfuricape8596 …ngl, that’s even sadder. I’ll sacrifice Jaune over Little any day.

Forever fall
I have a theory that Ever After is a bridge to the after life. People go there when they're not satisfied with how they died. Penny isn't there because she accepted her death. Summer ended up there because she didn't accept her death.
Alyx and Lewis are there because they died young during the Great War.
Addendum: I don't think Lewis grew up to be The Inventor. Their hair texture is different; Lewis has locks and The Inventor has straight hair.
Then who wrote the book?
First The Girl in the Tower, then The Infinity Man, then The Two Brothers and now this.

We saw "The Shallow Sea" in the Fairy Tales of Remnant short videos, but we still have to see "The Ninjas of Love."
@@MinisterEvil I meant what other things did they leave out of the stories.
Oh wait, Lewis has a book on him? Don’t we see a book on fire in the intro!? Perhaps those are the flames of the blacksmith location
Alyx deserves to have the Izanami genjutsu on her.
I think Lewis is the cat or even the mouse.
(Most likely all the people behind her are shade clones made from her power based on memories of her past.)
Ruby needs a shock to her system, and dealing with someone who already failed and now has a second chance would be a perfect fit for Alex, which would also explain why Alex is running with the main crew in the opening and Ruby is blacked out because she’s currently broken and needs help from her team and Alex.
I simply cant wait till next episodes
Wasn't it that particular incarnation of Ozma who switched from a staff to a cane?
And apparently Oz's cane stores TIME, so......... is he going to absorb Jaune's extra time from the EA and restore his youth?
This could have been Lewis' inspiration from seeing how time flows in the EA - learning something new about time. (Possibly Jaune told them about the tree even if he didn't tell them about team RWBY or that he was still possibly not caught up to his own time yet.)
While Alyx was busy trying to find a way out Lewis was studying the EA.
I think Alyx was being wrongly portrayed as a villain when it was in fact her brother
Anyone else remember the fact that lots of people fell last volume as well? Where the flip are they?
Phoenix night
You all write did a perfect theory about the curious cat being the relic of choice
My theory .. Lewis or Alyx became Little.
I think that the Curious Cat did indeed leave with Alyx and that Louis became a New Curious Cat with altered memories
If Lewis made it back to Remnant, I'd like to think he'd change the story in a way that didn't make his sister out to be the villain.
what if neither got out and the tree itself send the book to remnat with both of the memories fused together to make it?
If Lewis wrote the story, how would he know that Jaune got poisoned since it was Alyx that poisoned Jaune?
Did "The Girl Who Fell Through The World" mention the Rusted Knight being poisoned tho?
@@amandaa8472 Yes, Jaune quoted the book in chapter 6 when he was getting poisoned.
'Story Alyx' then slayed the JW and he hoped that by rewriting the end, his sister who was trapped in another world would one day slay her inner demon (literally manifested as the beastly JW) and be at peace; concluding her "hero's journey." that's why it's so beloved in remnant - because it's based somewhat on true events and also a child friendly cautionary tale.
i also don't think we should be quick to distrust the Cat even though it doesn't give out the full story (because it wasn't asked) since it did save Ruby from Herb's trance and genuinely didn't wanna another Alyx situation. ever after and it's denizens weirdly behave in both literal and metaphorical ways (oxymoronic typa reality)
tl;dr Lewis left and wrote positively about Alyx with events not 1:1 chronologically.
Could the ever after be the new world that the brothers made after they left remnant?
The thing is if Ozma incarnated into Lewis there would be an issue, Ever-After isn't part of Remnant if I understand things right it's another World outside of the Brothers' Control, and if Ozma as Lewis were to die in Ever-After then he likely would be made to "Ascend" by the Tree
My big thing is that the staff of creation won’t create complete universes without a blueprint, ozpin helped make the blueprints and likely had to at least know of the ever after to have it be the central location, so I do believe the theory that Louis is a prior incarnation.
She learned her lesson in some sort of way. I think that is a very important phrase
Alyx and Lewis is totally referencing the mystery behind the two and possible injustice Lewis faced
Lewis is Pietro Polendina. He lost his ability to walk in the tree and made Penny in Alyx's image
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that, for a while I was thinking that Alyx might have been a sort of repurposed Penny
I wouldn't be surprised if our favorite ice cream girl is going a little mad with power right now.
i think terian recognized the weapons of the rusted night when back in volume 4 or 5 i don't Rember which
I think all the residents of the ever after are humans from Remnant that fell through the world as well and eventually underwent "Ascension"
This would allow it to be alyx and still be the one she met during her trip through the ever after
Lewis and Alyx could also be the children of one of Ozpin's incarnations. We saw he had other children in different incarnations in the Lost Fable.
I'm/we're still trying to ponder the question How did Alyx and Lewis got to ever after since The gods removed Magic from remnant before Chap 6 & really finding about Alyx I theorized She got to ever after Thanks to her semblance since dust and semblance are the remains of Magic I theorized Alyx's semblance calling it Burrow for it's a thing Hares do allowed Alyx to create a portal to jump between places she thought of and she started to train with her semblance to strengthen it so she could be capable of jumping to far away locations as she did she must've thought about ever after of how it would be awesome to be in another World so her semblance brought her there
That particular incarnation of Ozma had two kids right, I can’t tell if they match Aly and Louis, but… what if.
Here's a hot take: Maybe the tree is the Sword of Destruction hidden in the center.
Very interesting 🤔
take a drink everytime he says in memory of his sister.
What about Alyx became the Smith? Still a human with a purpose given by the world bound by the world but unchanged by Ascension
She's the only other human and it explains how Alyx's knife was collected by the Smith who hasn't even received a proper name at least that I noticed.
Part of me wants to believe that Lewis decided to stay, not that Alyx betrayed him, but I can't say that I DO believe that.
Imagine if the twist was that Lewis was Pietro Polendina
