Not when it`s getting dark, because it doesn`t stand a chance, but any other time it`s picture output is just so much better, without that unnecessary sharpening, processing and over saturated colors. • @nasidctg
      @nasidctg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@@MohiSyed these will be more or less the same as recent flasgships. Nokia was doing pixel binning back in 2012 with 808. The n8, 808 and 1020 both had a physical nd filter that used to pop out during bright scenes. So even samsung variable aperture isn’t something ground breaking. They introduced floating lens(ois) in phones with the 920 (2012).
Just think what 8 years worth of continuous research would have produced today. It took samsung 8 years to put a sensor nearly as big as the 808 in a phone and 808 still didnt have any focus/edge blurring issues because nokia used proper zeiss optics on their cameras.
I started doing photography because of phones like n70, 73, 93i, 82, 95 and n8 and now I'm a full time professional photographer. Nokia's products were inspiring and ambitious for their times. Nokia was pushing clear black amoled displays since 2010 which we now call.super amoleds. The only real problem is that they ditched the n9's ui (meego was the name afaik). It was better than anything available at that moment. It had the gestures that ios brought with Iphone X and android followed. Nokia was 10 years ahead of its competition yet they failed because they were sabotaged internally by Stephen Elope.

NOKIA 808 PureView (2012) has many advantages that today's flagships don't have:
+ much bigger sensor size (1/1.2") than (also huge) Mi Note 10
+ Xenon flash (and also LED)
      + camera has actually shutter
      + dedicated 2-stage camera button
+ FM transmitter (not just receiver!!) - yeah... I actually use this ocasionally
+ HDMI out (for quickly connecting to any display/projector)
--> BigScreen app is very good for presenting stuff - and you can pair it with Nintendo Wii mote for easier navigating and presentation
+ awsome durability (2012-2020 without any kind of extra protection - phone has been really through alot - and still works superb!! =)
+ design - I love this camera bump! It feels great in hand.
      + quick OS... ;))
+ swappable battery (I have 3 full batteries with myself when I go into wild) :)
+ very convenient (led) tourch - just hold phone lock button (yeah... that extra button also)
      + 3,5 mm headphone jack

I had a friend who has a Nokia 808. Way back 2013 that Phone is so awesome when i was first saw it. He tells me that even a photographer is so amazed by his phone during that time.

I had 808PV, L1020 and most of the flagship phones up until P20 Pro. The 808PV and then the P20Pro have me the most joy and impression. The 808PV has this very dreamy bokeh and smooth color profile, especially the sky. It tends to look like a film camera. It took them so long to catch up eh? But then we must admit the current crop of sensors and processing are very good. The dynamic range is incredible. Just that it took them so long.

This comment section is full of clueless people. This phone wasn't "underappreciated", it was simply a product for nobody, filling a niche nobody needed to be filled. It came out when social media boom was starting out and it ran on Symbian, which was a dying system already being replaced by Windows Phone (rip) on Nokias and being rapidly outpaced by iOS and even Android, which was pretty primitive back then. So nobody would buy it for social media because Symbian didn't even have dedicated IG and Snapchat apps, and even if it had, nobody would have noticed the better photo quality because phone screens at the time were super low res. As for other niche, photography enthusiasts, they'd just buy a cheap phone and a better dedicated camera, which would still be cheaper than this phone at the time.
Don't get me wrong, the tech here is amazing. But it's no wonder it flopped. Why buy this and have a subpar software experience when you could've bought an iPhone 4S or a Galaxy S3 with comparable camera quality when viewing on their screens (which is what matters for 99% of people) and incomparably better software with actual social media apps

Ikr. The prefer to trust sellout shills who clearly have no clue in photography thinking that bright colour is best. 🤦‍♂️
